We have a great maid, both my kids love her to bits... When she leaves in the evening (she has her own accommodation entrance) DD cries and wants to go with her. DH and I sometimes come home at random times, and the house is always tidy, and the kids are quiet and being entertained.... Can't say the same for when I'm looking after them ;) I am very happy, and would be lost without her. In return we treat her as an adult, don't micro manage and just let her get on with things. She has never asked for anything from us and has never taken a sick day or been late for work, or wanted to leave early... I would hate to lose her.

We have.... no big deal really... although thinking back to the time, if we didn't own it, I probably would have moved.

So whilst going through the maids paperwork today, I found a hep B vaccination card that stated that our maid had to go back for 2 more injections. Of course DH nor maid mentioned anything about this to me previously. Does anyone know if it is compulsory to go back for the other 2 injections? - and if so, can it be done in Dubai - as really not into heading down to Abu Dhabi again. TIA

I have a working visa here in Dubai. I am afraid that I will not be able to convert my SA Drivers License into a Local License as my passprt and drivers license are not from the same country. Has anyone got a similar case? And managed to get a Local Drivers License? Thanks, Empie I have the same combination.... no problems, straight swop... although when they translated Holland to Arabic, and back into English, it came back as Poland... so now my UAE drivers license says i'm from Poland!

Freckles! - was meant to send u best wishes b4 i left the house this morning, but was running out the door..... and have been on the water all day... How did it go? - was it similar to Croucheys? - which seems pretty harsh to me.. Thought it would be just a meet and greet! Did u get offered a place immediately? - or do they get back to you? Crouchey, i'm sure your son, did fine.... sending positive vibes your way!

No, but have heard good things and was very impressed when we we went for a tour last year. DD is our first, and DS will probably follow in 2013... Hopefully if all goes well, we may meet in September!

Yes, FS1, don't think so, (unless your DS name starts with an F). You've just mentioned the school before. Please tell us how it goes, and what is involved.

Am I the only married one here where it doesn't matter who pays for what, as it is all our money anyway - and comes out of the same account? When we first started dating, I often insisted on paying my way, or we would take turns in paying the bill. - DH says it was one of the things that attracted me to him. But after we got engaged, it went into one account for me to spend from:) - Much more convenient! edited by jag on 10/01/2011
