DH says planes get sent over here all the time. Also it might be a very still night thats why we can hear them. Or sometimes they just get tracked this way. I'm sure nothing is going on...........

What is it with this place and the obsession with bathtubs instead of showers? We have a 3 bed apartment and all three rooms have tubs. Very silly indeed. my son is afraid of the shower...sometimes i think my mil is too. i was hoping for bathrooms with bath tubs separate from really lovely waterfall shower alcoves. you know, the kind of bathrooms from my fantasies? I so wish for a modern walk in rain shower. I have a modern walk in rain shower in my ensuite with a very large soaking tub and a double vanity........quite nice edited by juzzrach on 28/01/2011

Nessa and Juzzrach, what if we met on Sunday 30th at the K-Maid-Zone? Say at 4:30pm? Have two kids too, and live in Villa L nickym1d, I also dealt with FAM and they were fine. Happy to meet up at that time.....fefi75 I think I may have briefly met you inside your villa.......we were also being shown through and I gave you some baby wipes to use? Seems you must have beat us to the Villa though!

Hi Leshell, I am Aussie, haven't come across any othere Aussies yet but my kids friends are all various nationalities. Yes there are plenty of taxis and most seem to know where it is, a couple of times I have walked down towards the metro station and picked one up. I am one of those who's maid does the tower K thing, glad I don't live on level 1 of that tower quite noisy then! I rented from FAM properties they operate out of the business tower and found them through dubizzle. Hi Nessa72............I am Ozzy and I live in Tower M...........you mean you haven't noticed me? I am the Mum always bike and scooter riding with my 4 kids getting crazy looks from all of the maids probably wondering what I am doing? Why is that Mum down here spending time with her children? ;)

WOW. how impressive??? [i'>Please be informed that we have increased the number of security personnel at the podium levels between 4:00pm & 8:00pm where mostly at these times pets are taken for a walk. Even, we have procured signages to be placed all over the podiums that pets are not allowed, this will enable us to call Dubai Municipality and they can fine the residents. The signages is expected to be delivered in two weeks time. If you come across any such instances, please report to Security Supervisor on 0559857735. They may take action immediately[/i'>. Great love it.....maybe they can also get signage for the teenagers running a muck so they can fine them too......and another sign for my doorbell so the same teenagers do not prank ring it all the time......:\:

Yum, that sounds divine Ginnee. Question: My DH is a coffee hound and cannot survive without his espresso machine and coffee bean grinder so he has absolutely fresh coffee at home. Ideally the beans have to be no more than 3 days old since roasting. "Has to have the right crema, you understand?" *rolls eyes* Can you get good quality, freshly roasted coffee beans over there? I'm not talking about packs at supermarkets which generally were roasted weeks (if not months) earlier and are dry as a bone, but beans sold in proper coffee roasting shops? The Australians will understand if I mention the brand Merlo as an example. OMG I LOVE MERLO!!! And I ask anyone coming from my hometown of Brisbane to bring me some when they come.....or send me a little pressie!! Just finished my last bag and now have to wait for more from home.......oh well am happy enough with Raw (Dubai Garden Centre) until I can get my hands on some more MERLO :)

I have just run out of my usual vitamin supplement supply brought from my home country when I moved a few months ago. Just wanting some recommendations of what you ladies have found particularly good bought from here. I usually take a fish oil cap and a multi vitamin everyday. I am generally VERY healthy but can have low energy levels (prob due to running around after the kids all day!) Some advice on where to buy here as well. TIA :)

Depends where in Business Bay you are.....if you are in Executive Towers then you are not allowed a BBQ and security will therefore not allow one to be delivered. I do not know of any gas bottle delivery companies sorry as we are not allowed a BBQ!

I agree with the others........not very good quality here. And it depends where you will be living. Living in a villa, no probs you can have a bbq, however most apartments do not allow bbq's. We thought we were going to be living in a villa when we were looking from Oz, however we are now living in an apartment......hence not allowed a bbq. A bit mean to tell an Ozzy they're not allowed to BBQ!!!

Green-ish took her children to Italy last year. She has a great recall for details and is very helpful. Even though she has gone back to Australia she still pops in from time to time. If you put a message out to her I am sure she will respond. HTH :) Thanks CT I will do that :)

Hey, what do you all think about the dogs..........? Just passed two out for a walk (i.e. piddle) - really hope they are not piddling all over the grass where the kids play......................................................................... :\: I can't stand all the dogs around......and all the poop that is NOT cleaned up. Personally I think its cruel to keep a dog in an apartment....
