Thank you all... I have done all these steps below; my work need the US embassy stamp now before taking to the ministery of foreign affair and the immigration. I went there this morning but they told me to come back in the afternoon even if I am not an US citizen... My gosh, it allows me to see how many people are going there for visas only (with an appointment)!!! I did not know there was a long process to obtain a visit visa for all nationalities even mine :( I know now that they are open for US citizens from 12:30 to 15:00. What about in the morning, is there anyone who know about the opening hours? I reached there at 8 thinking they are not open but there was a long queue outside :( Also, what happen to their phone?

yes really funny... as you may find some ads on dubizzle... also, I hear that the one who is making the reading will be in trouble if he/she gets caught, not the client.

Indeed there is a corniche in UAQ.... The only time I went by (on friday afternoon by car); there were lots of labor employees enjoying their time with a cow in the middle of the crowd... I wished I had my camera that day... was worth a pic

all hotels in UAQ are in bad conditions... just like the emirate itself... you have to know that most of the locals (teenagers for most of them) used to rent a room and bring many woment (foreigners mostly) for parties and other stuffsss.... all rooms used to be full every week end in UAQ for these purposes... last year or the year before, the sheikh has forbidden any kind of parties in UAQ... since then, this emirates has no parties anymore but the hotel rooms are still the same. Good luck

I booked one way ticket also from France tho... and book another ticket (cheap one on fly dubai) to the closest country (Oman) within 1 month just in case. They did not even ask at Dubai airport... if I knew it before I would never buy the other ticket... so dont worry; it is possible...

I have heard that the government could not renew their passports; so they took them back. That means that these people have lost their identity, all their benefits (they considered as locals before) and they can not travel outside the UAE. What will happen to them? What other options do they have? How does it affect their lives (loans, other adm papers, etc...)?

I had an IS300 for 2 years and used to drive from Dxb to AD every day too... I highly recommended for the comfort, speed, safety, etc... the service was every 5K at this time that costs you around 400 - 700 AED. They do it the same day after 1-2 hours if you have made an appointment with them. Trust me the car is amazing for long drive (however, the speed from dxb to ad has been reduced n there are too many cars on the highway to speed up).

I second Laura 2... I had bad stains inside but the outside was worst (cement, road chemicals, etc...). I thought it will never go or it will look horrible (my car is white). But no, zain car is very reliable, polite and professional. The best thing is that they come and drop off the car for you anywhere you want. Just google it to find out their website

vero possumus replied : Just get a friend to call you and invite you on a double date, make sure the call is when you are in a session. Then you can say outloud, "how can I come on a double date without a date, lol" then when you put the phone down, he may offer......or he may need dragging. That is very good approach... tumbs up vero possumus!!!

thanks for all your replies ladies. It looks like Volvo has lots of good features. However, I am not quite sure about the resale value. Also, I find it kind of expensive. Does anyone know about the services (every 5K or 10K km?)

Good morning everyone, I am looking for a Nanny/Maid. I am very new in the market; therefore, can you please tell me how much you pay your nanny/maid? What are the conditions? Is it better that I should go thu an agency? If yes, which one do you recommend? What are the things I have to plan for her? I just want an english speaker good care keeper. Any recommendation? thank you ladies.
