I too get these when I type in "I" and "M" Take some deep breaths hun, and try to get him to relax and open up to you this weekend. Push all these suspicions you have of him having an affair out of your mind or else they will cloud your judgements. Do you have anyone who can watch your DD for you for a couple of hours over the weekend? A nice meal together or even just a coffee and a chat may do you both the world of good. All the best

Oh Shaf! Just when your DD has started feeling better :-( Follow meals' advice and hope for the best. I once nannies for a boys 3 years and the other 3 months. The 3 year old got pox and the 3 month old didn't. So hopefully one or both your babies will be ok. Holding thumbs you all escape it.

Stovetop, have you got some Lansinoh cream...anything with pure lanolin...Medela do one that's widely available here. With DS 1 I tried the nipple shields but wished I hadn't as he then refused to suck after itried removing them. Wasn't all that bad, but having to carry them round and sterelize them was an extra chore and it made BF in public more tricky. With DS 2 I used to count to 10 and breath every time he latched. It was damn painful, but after 3 weeks it was totally fine. Put Lansinoh cream on before you hop in the shower, I found the water dried the nipples out more and caused more burning. Try airing then as often as possible. The first 2 weeks are the toughest...and you're nearly halfway through it. So keep going Hun, you're doing great. Soon it'll be a piece of cake ;-) if you are concerned baby is not latching properly, maybe seek the help of a lactation consultant. All the best and congrats one again.

My DS had this around 10 weeks :-( it's horrible. I just used a humidifier in his room at night and rubbed some karvol baby rub on his chest after his bath and it seemed to ease it.

I'm not sure about this hospital in particular but I had a C section and then a vaginal birth 3 years later. I think if you are planning to have your second soon, you would probably be told to have another c section. But there should be no reason why you would have to go under a general anesthetic for it. Best of luck. You're going to sure have your hands full ;-)

DS's first 2 growth spurts lasted 3 days, the longest 3 days ever of course, but it luckily does come to an end. I felt like I had him constantly latched on to me, it's very exhausting Shaf. Rest as much as you can throughout the day. Does your other LO go to nursery?

Freckles, I could have written this post. Except, DH isn't AT work, he's sleeping after a night shift. So the pressure is on, trying to keep the hyperactive children quiet while I get dressed upstairs. Halfway there. By now I'm not sure I could be bothered going out! Was just going to take them to Toys r Us for a run around and then lunch and back home. Not very exciting at all.

It's called Elizabeth Annes Aqaeous Cream. I have been lucky enough to find the original one here in Dubai, but not the lavender one. MIL has tried both and it's the lavender one that works. If you want my bit I have left or want me to get you some, email me: bellsdxbATgmailDOTcom

My mother in law suffers from dry, cracked hands and swears by a cream I get her in south africa. It's an aqueous cream with lavender in it. I have a small bit left in a tub ere if you want to try it. Or I could bring some back for you sometime in the next 2 months a I'm planning a trip home. Let me know.

Anyone know of any classes closer to Mirdif? I took DS 1 to swimming with Active Sports at Wafi but wasn't overly impressed, so thinking of trying someone new for DS 2. Thanks

I would. Got nothing to hide. But then I'm pretty bland on here. Meaning, I try not to get into heated discussions...not because I'm a wus but more due to the fact that I'm usesless with the written word. lol So I'm a lot more controversial and full of BS in real life. LOL

Hmmm...tough one. I would rather let those with siblings know that if they do bring the siblings along, they will have to pay for them. Say something like, siblings welcome @ xxxdhs per head. I find it very rude when mothers bring the siblings along and expect them to be catered for. I would never do this. Or if I did I would always offer to pay for the sibling and make it known (to the accompanying sibling) that there will be no party bag for them.

If anyone is interested...I have a Sophie, unopened, still in Luxe Little wrapping that I'd like to sell. I went a bit overboard with the online shopping ;-) PS. DS loves his. He's 5 months, teething like mad and is finding great comfort in Sophies legs. Email me bellsdxbATgmailDOTcom if you're interested. I'm in Mirdif.

I can't recommend a doctor but I can suggest adding oats and rooibos tea to your LO's bath. When I nannied for a little boy who had terrible eczema, this is what I used to do and it worked a treat. I put the oats in a sock and popped it in the bath (with one rooibos tea bag) with hot water for about 15 min, then added cooler water and put baby in. Let baby soak for as long as he/she is happy and then dry, apply Sudocreme. To help the face, keep wetting a cotton pad and gently rub it all over her/his face. You can also apply sudocreme to the face. Just rub it between your fingers to warm it and ease spreading.

Oh Pingu!!! :-( I'm so so sorry. I know I haven't got a clue what you are going through, but I can imagine and I know it can't be a good place to be. I truly believe that your time will come. And I do think that taking the time to relax will donyou and DH the world of good. There is so much pressure and stress on you both right now and that is not gonna do the baby making business any good...or your relationship for that matter. NOT saying you and dH have problems, but it will do you both some good to take a breather and just have fun for a bit. If I could, I'd send the two of you on a lovely beach holiday for 2 weeks... But I can't so I will offer to try occupy your mind with other things and feed you with loads of "grape juice"...starting tomorrow ;-) Big hugs. Xxx

We recently moved within Dubai and used TMS (Total Moving & Storage) on the recommendation from a friend. They were extremely professional and I would also highly recommend them. Wondered if u used them in the end. Ditto what Shellly said. They were fab and gave the beat quote. Will always reccommend and will most defo use then again.

Call the jeweler u bought it from and see if they have a branch closer to Mirdif. Maybe even at the G n D part in Dubai Mall. Or take a trip down to the creek tomorrow or this weekend and take an abra ride across the creek to Gold Souk and get it done there. Makes it a bit more of a fun day out. I'm sure DD will love it.

I used to take it at night before going to bed and it helped me sleep and it lasted as i more often then not, woke up feeling ok. I wouldn't take it in the day if i had to drive such a long distance though, I'd have fallen asleep at the wheel for sure. Maybe try it on the weekends first?

Hi, spay of water on the root 1/week, keep the orchid away from the direct sun. If you have some wine cork, cut them into small pieces, spread the cork under and on the root to keep the humidity for the orchid. Add fertilizer &/month. that's all you have to do. good luck :-) just in case only :-), if any of your orchid turn really bad don't throw them, just give it to me :-). Tia Tia, I have one that's lost all it's flowers. Flowered beautifully for 3 months. About to bin it even though it's heart wrenching. Would you be interested in it?

Mum gets the car, takes DH to work after school drop offs. Picks DH up on days convienient for her otherwise DH gets a taxi home. You could always pick up a second Hand small car for DH, won't be too expensive but then u have to factor in service costs whereas with a taxi, it's just the fare.

Ive done it loads. The way I look at it, we don't eat in stinky bathrooms, so why should our babies? And even this mother and baby rooms...they stink from all the dirty nappies. I always chose somewhere discreat. Coffee shops with high side bucket style chairs are great. I rearange things to face the most quiet side, put buggy at my side and hae a blanket/pashmina/muslin over my shoulder. I agree that those proper bf covers draw more attention and therefore I didn't bother with one. I am a lot more confident with DS 2 then I was with DS 1. So just try relax, take some time to practice...and you'll be fine. I was most worried with how locals would react. Not sure why I worried as they are always giving me smiles and nods of aproval. It's the Filipino staff at malls that seem to be concerned more then anyone else around. edited by KellsBells on 02/02/2011
