i liked the once online that they put in the backyards, moving to a villa and have a big backyard, wall is high but im still not confident letting them out, mine love outdoors as they are were all rescued at different age some still remember the outside!! :) And i agree with anybody who doesnt let their cats in the balconies, its the best way to keep them safe!!

We moved into our apartment three years ago and paid 5,000 security deposit. I would think this amount is quite normal. hhmm...Apartment 5000k?:\: i think then it depends on the size, i've lived in small 1-2 bedroom apartments until now. :) also have a question about the gardens in the villas, they said that wouldnt fix the garden, its all dead now, and we have to do it when we move in, will they expect the garden to be in good condition when we leave? we will ofcourse take care of it, but since they refuse to fix it now we dont have to make sure its all green when we move, right?

Just paid the new landlord 5,000 AED as security deposit, we lived in Dubai for 6 years (always in apartments) always paid 3,500 AED, today we have been told that all Mirdiff Villas are the same, 5,000 AED for deposit, is this a normal amount to pay?

Can I ask (sorry, never been on one) what is so special about Ladies Nights? Do you get cheap drinks? Or are there no men in the bars to hassle you? Just curious, is all... Nothing really specia about ladies night, you just gather all your girlfriends and go out to drink for free, i dont like ladies nights in clubs as it seems that ALL the men of Dubai go out on tuesday....and its not pleasant if you want to enjoy a girly night, bars are more decent no one will bother you if you dont want to.. :)

no band, i did notice a sign which said that live band is on weekends...but then again i doubt during ramadan...coctails are great, you have a separate bar section only for ladies, lots to choose from and the bartender doesnt mind pooring those drinks for you every 5 mins :D

6 years and no ladies night?! Wow, you're going to have a blast! Just be sure to call the venues on the night as their timings for giving out the vouchers usually changes due to the bars opening later and closing earlier. i know....:) i cant stay 6 weeks without it!! :) last i went to DoubleDecker on a tuesday they had any coctail of your choice for free from 8pm till 12 am... as many as you can!! :)

Seriously?! The excuse he came up with is that the kitchen is too small! Hahaha, is he a 9 foot, 50 stone giant?! No problems, if he doesn't want to do the washing up, you don't want to make dinner. After a week of takeaways on paper plates with plastic cutlery and a can of pop to drink he might change his mind! Send him to me for a week, he'll be begging to do the washing up... He is quite big...but he fits in the kitchen when he needs to look for food, the problem is when i moved in with him it was all take aways and plastic plates..and stupid me wanted to act like a nice wife bought all the kitchen stuff, started cleaning, cooking ...guess he liked it!!! we should start with cats litter box tomorrow, and cooking as well atleast once a week. i would be very surprised if this works, moving to a villa in 15 days i cant imagine, bigger place, garden, backyard!! Oh lord i need a 2nd me....:\:

Well, that's what [b'>I[/b'> would say haha, but I was trying to find a nice way for Kristina to try first as she seems a gentle, unagressive young lady, unlike me! :D If my DH attempted any of Kristina's hubby's tricks, well, see the thread about pepper spray to see the kind of reaction he would get! ;) LOL...this made me laugh... i just finished reading the one about peper spray,,,,:) Well i did give it a try, it went funny..DH woke up and saw me working on the chart...wondering what on earth i was doing i explained to him that the things in green are to be done by him that included dishes 3 days a week and cat litter box twice a week....thats it for now (baby steps..as i've been told) oohh...you should've seen his face, he asked me how come it came up my mind, well i said that the house is not as clean as it shoulld be and if he helps me it would be nice....Now as a response (very surprising) as i said he hates cats litter box...he agreed to only do this every day but he will be bringing home one of those big painting masks with the vents and stuff...ahahaha!!! thats doesnt really give me much more time and doesnt really help a lot, but hey something to start with...he refused to do the dishes coz he says our kitchen is small and he cant turn around ...this is the funniest thing i've ever heard!! i'm a woman and i cant be happier with the size of my kitchen...:\:

Have to figure out where to start from, whats the most common things DHs help with? the easiest for them? Trash, dishes? PS he loves our cats but NO WAY he will ever get neear the litter box!! lol

I hope someone can help - I am moving to a new apartment on the 32nd floor with my local black and white cat. In the place we're living at the moment there is no balcony so she has never been exposed to one and I am just wondering how best to introduce her to the balcony to make sure that she doesn't jump off! I am guessing I should keep her indoors for a few days so she at least gets used to her new home from the inside first, but then after that does anyone know if it would be safe to let her onto the balcony at all?! Maybe supervised visits only...? I don't want to get this wrong! Any advice much appreciated....thanks! i have 4 cats and a very lage balcony only on the 1st floor, when i let them out i have to manage to keep an eye on all the 4 of them... be carefull....cats at times dont really realize how high they are, its true they land on 4 legs but thats a bit too high for them...always keep an eye!!

I saw the initial thread over BB. How cruel and inresponsible people can be. That said I feel cruel as wel I experience nowadays so many cats dumped in Al Khail Gate. From December I have fed one cat Minky who has a snipped ear and would love to have a permanent home. The cat is used to children and other cats and wants a lot of cuddles and a cooler an quiet environment then the streets of Al Quoz. Since a month I am feeding now up to five cats on and off who at least two got dumped. Since yesterday the bowls with food and water got removed, I got informed that it is not allowed to feed animals and that they have informed municipality. I hope Minky knows how to hide, unfortunately I cannot keep her inside as my cat would kill her. I can not afford cat noise as I am living in a staff accommodation and my neighbours would be on my case. Hi, Calling Feline Friends or Friends of Animals would be an option for the home cats being dumped on the streets, they could be a great help, im currently helping feline friends, and can foster kittens howevr i also cant take in adults "wild" cats as i have 4 on my own, and they wouldnt be happy, cats that were born n the streets are very hard to rehome and most of the times if safe homes witth gardens can be found for them would be great, as they are used to the out doors, 6 years in Dubai and i think Al Khail Gate is one of the most horrible areas for cats, i see all cats being around 6 months old, this happens because are people get them as kittens and dump them on the streets once they've grown a little older and need more food, being neutred, medical check ups etc....THIS IS CRUEL. Please do get in touch with either the organizations they will help, for sure!! Thanks

You will be just fine, but im not sure if they have English schools, so kids would have to learn Russian too, which wold be great, and it is very easy to learn at young age, dont forget about the country being very, very cold... regarding house, make sure you get urs in a sae area, there are different areas in moscow, kinda like New York, if you end up in a small litle poor area, it can be very dengerous wit criminals and mostly alcoholics... (lots of drug and alcohol addicts) In nicer areas of the city life can be beautiful, you can make lots of friends, Russians are mainly fiendly people!! Hope it helps!! Good Luck!!

After 6 years in the ME, we may have an opportunity to move from Dubai to Moscow. We would be moving with 2 toddlers and on a good financial package (no housing allowance etc but a higher salary to cover those things). Where do the expat families live in Moscow and what is life like compared to here - I would probably be working as well. If anyone on this board has lived there I'd be interested to hear more about the quality of life: type of housing, commute, schools, home help, how many months indoors, safety etc. Thank you! Hi, Do you guys speak Russian?? They are not very English Language friendly there.. :)

Oh, I feel for you, we used to live on the flight path, we could have reached up and touched the planes. You do put up with it while living there but we are glad to be away from it now. I did like Mirdif as a place, it was just too far from kids school. :) Actually i think at about 5 am there s a huge plane that can still wake you up even if you've been living here for years, must be some russian giant plane!! :) very noisy!!

In our old appartment for 2 people we never got a second bottle of gas in a year, we had an electric oven, with that i guess the DEWA bill gets higher, now in miridff with a gas oven i changed the first bottle after 5 months, gas used to be 95 for medium bottle, now it became 115 for some reason. :(
