a quick and easy favourite of mine... I chop up vegetables - all the ones I like - cauliflour, carrots, courgettes, broccoli, cabbage, peppers, pumpkin, onions, potatoes - whichever ones you like toss them with a bit of olive oil and salt and pepper and again whatever you like - lemon juice, lemon pepper, any other seasonings or herbs and spices layer them in a baking dish and then season chicken breasts (I sometimes slice them open and spread a bit of low fat cream cheese inside them) and then put them on top of the vegetables, sprinkle a little parmesan over them if you didn't do the cream cheese bit and bake in the oven 'til ready this has always been a big hit for me - everyone loves this dish!! <em>edited by Lindiwe on 05/07/2011</em>

It's a DEBIT card not a credit card... and it's a great way to help your kids learn how to budget and they don't have to take all their money with them when they go to the Mall etc. If they find something they like, they can draw the amount they require and pay for it in cash (not sure how many shops accept debit cards) Union National Bank does accounts for teens.

Hi I got a call yesterday from someone who said the dog was theirs... bit of a strange story - he said that their lady friend left Dubai and gave the dog to them and they took it back to their villa and when the gate was opened, before they could do anything, it ran out and they tried to catch it but it ran faster the more they chased it and they lost it. He said he had photos of the dog and were happy to go to the police station or do whatever I wanted to prove that it was theirs, but then in the next breath he said if I wanted to keep it - I could... Well, I can't as we already have six dogs but I'm happy to keep it (it gets on fine with our dogs, so that's not a problem, but i really don't want another dog and lots of people are wanting it if no-one claims it) until we find the true owner or a good home if the owner has left. He didn't speak very good english and I'm not sure if I understood the whole conversation or if he understood what I was trying to say - it was very confusing. If you can talk Arabic or make yourself understood, perhaps you could call him and find out the full story. Thanks <em>edited by Lindiwe on 02/04/2011</em>

Hi again the dog was found yesterday about 11am - the best way to describe where is... if you go from sh zayed rd past mall of the emirates to al khail road then you turn left at al khail and she was quite close to the next roundabout... on the road! I'm not sure what the area is called - sorry. I'll try and get her to one of the vets tomorrow and see if she has a chip.

Thanks so much for the helpful reply JS. I'm sure it must've run out the gate or something and crossed the two big roads and got lost. It's in good condition and quite a plump little thing so it's obviously been well looked after. I posted a picture on dubizzle on the pets - lost and found ... how can I get one to you please? Also, do you know where I can check the microchip - we're in Jumeirah and I don't have time in the next few days to go the Municipality Vet in Rashadiya, which is the only one I know of... Thanks again

My friend found a little dog on al khail road yesterday - please if anyone knows the owners, let me know. It is a cute little dog, it looks as though it has been well cared for but was very hungry and thirsty when he found her. There were no houses close by, but he thinks it might belong to a local family as he thinks it is mainly locals that live in the area closest to where he found her. I'm sure someone is missing their little baby and I'm not sure what to do. What might a local do to locate their pet - does anyone know? Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem. I looked on the internet and found someone saying they had the same problem and thought it came from the ink on the newspapers... not too sure if it is coincidence, but if I read the papers without putting on gloves... it flares up again. I found a cream called Eucerin (you can get it here in chemists) which helps clear it up in no time

I always try to keep them on the line as long as possible - saying "oh thank you", and "hold on I have to get a pen", "oh thanks I"m so excited, it's come at just the right time, my DH has lost his job" and I carry on telling them all sorts of stories - wasting their airtime and they eventually hang up LOL

bump just got an sms from a friend saying that a huge storm is heading for Dubai from Iran - due to hit Dubai around 8/8.30 pm - advising to stay indoors and off roads etc. I can't see anything on the internet / Dubai Weather etc

it's hard because some of them are vindictive... I've heard horrible stories of what they put in your food, tea, etc and what they do to your kids when you aren't looking, if they feel you are being at all "mean" to them :-(

we went - it was a lovely outing! From SZ road - if you get onto the road past Lulu's (not too sure what it's called) and head out to Arabian Ranches - keep on going straight - its very easy to find and well signposted all the way. wine, beer and lots of yummy food on sale pony rides, jumping castles for the kids

PF Changs at the MOE has gone so downhill from the first time we went... the last few times the food has been soggy and terrible so I complained when we were there the last time but no one seemed to care - it was very empty too compared to the first few times we went :-( such a pity! we loved going there - in future I think we'll head to Chop Chop - it was our favourite before Changs and had vouchers in last years entertainer - not too sure about this years though

my DH's alarm didn't go off this morning either... I thought he might've done something wrong, but he said he set it the same as usual... I tried a few things and it worked when I actually chose Sunday (I think it said repeat or something like that) and the time - this might work for you until the problem is sorted out
