Hi Deeva I'm going through the same thing at moment, scary but trying to remain positive. After a very thorough examination from Gynea, on breast, I am booked in for mammogram and think they said radiology too... For next week... They explained I couldn't have one there and then due my monthly cycle and I was to wait for further examination until next period. I have never heard of this before, but to be fair never been in this situation before either.... A lovely lady explained on here explained some of us just get lumpy as we age ....hope every thing works out well for you x

Feel for your friend..... And a lot talk about "Power" ..... I would tell him to do it and then sue his ass..... For breach of confidentiality as she took those in good faith.... For his pleasure! No good him throwing his toys out the pram because he can't get his own way... What a Mess of a man he is ... I would go to his house or contact his loved ones and tell them what he was like... If their so rich and well respected they would not wish to tarnish their families name with this sort of controlling spoilt behaviour... Plus the poor fella needs help! Good luck with your friend x

You can go to the Mediclinic at Dubai Mall and get a mammogram. Not sure if you need to see a doctor first. Call them to see. Thank you so much x

We're due to move Ranches too..... June .... Worried for my 7yr old... As it does look very quiet there.are plenty of children on ranches... We're moving by gate 1 is that the same as Al Reem? Really need to look at layout of ranches.... Sorry for silly question . Gate 1 will be one of the communities that has more than one entrance - Al Reems 1,2 and 3 only have one so it won't be one of those.. Plenty of kids around, especially in the parks and there is a new skate park just opposite the gate for Al Reem 2 !! Thanks it Saheel gate 1.... Will look at layout for nearest park. :)

Tag..... Was only told yesterday the rarely depreciate in value. Chronograph calibre is a classic... So any thing that resembles this within price bracket, will almost definitely keep it's value, as the years pass. Good luck x

There's a group called Fairy Godmothers and it's aim is to introduce mums who are missing the support of their families with older women who are missing THEIR younger families ... Look on Facebook for details of their group and when their next meet-up is ... I hope you can get some support soon x This sounds ideal for me and my family x

Oh I am so sorry you experienced this :( Some people are just so inconsiderate and rude. Must be really tough with 2 small children and a DH who travels a lot. Do you need any help? Where do you live? Its tough yes, but i am managing and thought i was doing fine until this week lol You are so soo soo sweet for offering to help, and the offer is enough thank you! I think i'll be ok, just very 'debbie downer this week'. I'm fortunate to have 2 happy healthy kids, thats all that matters in the end. I just read this and feel very compelled to respond. When my twins were very young I had the same issues you are going through at the moment. And your human, there is certainly nothing wrong with being a Debbie downer, as you put it.... No manual comes with kids, and yes it's great to have healthy babies. But please remember you are doing a great job of keeping those babies healthy and happy, by the sounds of things. If you would like I have a some time before mid April.... I could help you ... Just a thought and please remember ..... Your doing a great job x

Interestingly my post has been deleted. I used to direct people who were moving to Dubai to this forum. But the last couple of times I have done so they have come back to me with exactly the same points as the OP. One of the ladies I directed here has been an expat in other countries for over eight years and said she has never come across such nastiness on a forum. She was concerned all women in Dubai would be like this and I had to convince her otherwise. Recently DH was headhunted for a job in Asia and I myself posted on a few forums there asking questions and had nothing but positive and helpful responses. I expected the same sort of backlash received here but instead saw nothing but helpful, constructive and kind comments. It is a shame EW cannot be the same. I am not talking about home truths here, I am talking about people asking probing questions and making uncalled for judgements on others or personal attacks. Not so long ago someone posted here asking if there was any help or where to look for help caring for her dog. She was returning to the UK for an extended period for personal reasons and her DH was staying in Dubai but occasionally had to travel for work. The dog was elderly (I mean seriously old) and unable to travel and the return to the UK was expected to only be temporary in any case. The responses she got were frankly quite horrifying. A small number of people started speculating, are you having a trial separation? Sounds like you're getting divorced? All very upsetting for her. This is the kind of thing I think the OP is talking about. This person came on here looking for genuine assistance and advice but instead some people started practically quizzing her on her personal life. What business is it of theirs? She was asking about a dog not for marriage counselling. This is why now I sadly no longer direct any newcomers to Dubai to this forum, girls will be girls is absolute nonsense. People on here are not little teenagers they are grown women. Luckily this forum is not indicative of people in Dubai, in fact of all the women I have met in Dubai only one so far has been as judgemental and unpleasant as some of the comments on this forum. An expat forum is not meant to be a tough fighting ground like a schoolyard, it is meant to be a helpful exchange of information. Perhaps before posting some of these comments posters should reconsider, is this really the impression they want to give of Dubai? Thank you , x restored my belief....x:)

Thank you ALL, for the feed back. Not that I was expecting any! It made a interesting read. I think I was misinterpreted or may be I didn't make my point very clear..... I am and do possess a very thick skin. I also know how to handle those who think writing a few brief sentences about how they are correct in most matters is very humouring ! But options are like rectums, we all have one....I just find when it comes to judging others choices and how people choose to live their lives, then discussing it on here is inappropriate and shouldn't be open to debate.... This is where it makes me a tad uncomfortable.... But thanks to all the kitties and de clawed oldies, as some one put it :)

Hi Lou101 Just found my bill from Saturday. General examination AED215, Scaling and Polish AED450. With the policy we have I think I usually end up paying around AED100 myself and the rest is covered. Mind we do have to pay extra for this on the policy as a whole. Hope this helps. Yes it does thank you so much Geordie expat We are base in Al Barsha at present but will be moving to ranches end of May, so will look for one may be nearer there... Thanks again. Ours is based at Al Manzil opposite Dubai Mall. It's a good excuse for some time out after :) Still getting used to this! Always good to have time out will look in to this ... ;) x

Do you get dental insurance as part of your medical insurance? There are different costs at dentists. Some are very expensive and depends who and where you visit Hi Sarahlou123 nope don't understand any of it.....! It says within the documents that I have a refund if I require surgery or any other dental prostheses ! However it doesn't explain any thing about check ups and costs..... Think I will ring around... Hey thanks any way :) Not everyone gets dental as part of their medical insurance At some dentists you can claim back the costs of the treatment/checkups Dentists in the UAE charge different prices some are expensive and some aren't. it depends which dentist you go to I hope this makes sense Makes perfect sense Sarahlou,123 yes I get dental cover as part of health insurance. Will check out prices later today thanks again. :)

I'm interested in the school too-my little one is at safa now but we could transfer which would make sense as we're in the ranches, , but we had a drive around that area today and where they are saying the school will be-there's nothing out of the ground yet from what we could see so we really cant seehow itl be open for sept? Thats why we are reluctant to do the transfer forms as he wont be allowed to carry on at the original safa if the new one isn't ready-not sure whether to take the risk?? We were in exactly the same position as you. We thought are we making a mistake..... But the school do have a contingency plan. We have been reassured by safa registrar and the head that the school will open. Do it . edited by Lou101 on 18/02/2014

I would love to know about the good hair dresser ! Been here a couple of weeks and roots need a touch up desperately....? I have found though what I pay in uk.... Hair dressers here want more money for the same procedure, which is disheartening. So if you have a number for hairdresser that would be great ?

I was on way home driving past mall of Emirates , down the slip road and allowed police officer on bike plenty of room to pass by me. Used all indicators, good road manners when turning second left towards apartment block, yet the police officer proceeded to pull in front of me and told me to pull over,he then asked for my reg details! Need advice on what I have done wrong? It's baffling me. Nothing came of it.... I am in a hire car and he asked to see documents, that was all.... But still no explanation as to why I was asked to pull over.... . Sorry I should explain that this is my fourth week here.... So new to all this. Random check. I think the Police here are very nice and not scary at all . I have been stopped and asked to produce documents before and they have been very nice about it . I don't think they need an excuse, chalk it up to a random check :-).

Lou, it's not uncommon to be pulled over and asked for documents. You can even be stopped in the street by CID and asked for your identification papers. Don't worry. As all was in order, it's fine. Thanks , wasn't aware of this before... Although he was very patient with me, I was still scared... But thanks x...

Jo91 I have just read this, I truly do feel for you. I have only been here three weeks and I had this enormous fear of driving... Although your situation is different to mine, I had to drive to get my child to school.... And it meant driving on a six lane road in automatic(something which was strange to me) . I too am a anxious person, but I gave my self a kick I needed and though it's do it or suffer more.... I have lost three time, I have beeps, I have had faces pulled at me... And three weeks on I can say its one of little achievements I secretly happy with! I understand that you have a condition, but I sincerely wish you the best with your driving. Can't wait to hear how well you have done x good luck x
