Mine is not as much a claim as a shame to fame...I had few dates with John Leslie 20 years ago... The Blue Peter John Leslie? :O edited by Made in Sheffield on 23/10/2014

Erm... I went to the same school as 'Prince' Naseem Hamed. He was an obnoxious pillock back then too. My friend's husband's cousin is Sean Bean, phwoar! Do either of these count? ;)

When I started my first job here, the HR woman said I would have to give them my passport or they would take 500dhs out of my wages every month as a 'guarantee'. I told her that it was illegal, all she said was "I know, but other companies do it." I left soon afterwards.

Lucky's is my No.1 -- afterall, it was born and bred in Leeds, UK! So I'm a little biased. Papa Johns is also on a very close par with my first choice. edited by roberts on 22/10/2014 Oh no, not Leeds! I should give you a thumbs down for that lol ;)

We have always used Lucky's in the past, but just delivered to home so not sure where else they deliver to. Tel 800113 344 Second vote for Luckys :) Their Submarine pizza with chillies and cheesy chips are gorgeous. Shame their kebabs aren't proper 'British' ones mind!

I recently went home and in the shops, restaurants, pubs etc they were all happy as larry and couldn't be more helpful. More than 2 people queuing a new till opens up, cant find something on the shelves they ring around for you , bar staff serving people in order, doors being held open for you, people helping my Sister and I carry a pram down steps the list was endless. It was joy to be there. omg - where is this parallel universe of which you speak ?? lol Chester Liverpool Manchester :-) Guess I need to move north then !! lol Definitely, and it gets better the further North you go ;) Aye, no doubt about that :)

In regards to that, I thought it was their job to bag groceries... I'm talking specifically about the yellow jumpsuit guys in c4?? I meant when there aren't any proper bag packing blokes available. People just expect the till staff to pack for them while they just wait doing naff all, totally oblivious to the massive queue building behind.

Oooh, don't get me started! How about the lazy numpties that just stand at the checkout and wait for (and expect) the poor person on the till to pack their shopping. Grrr!

When we went on our honeymoon to Turkey in 2000 we weren't allowed to put paper down the loo. There wasn't a bin so we had to put it in an empty Pringles tube. So romantic! edited by Made in Sheffield on 15/10/2014

I'm sorry. I know it's childish but I always have a little giggle when people talk about pants instead of trousers! :)

Disgusting! I've reported the ad (what good it will do I don't know). I'd phone the cretin up as well but for the sake of my sanity I'd better not ;(

I bought some last Friday from Park n Shop in DIP. They were on the kids' craft aisle for some bizarre reason.

of all the good stores that the UK has; superdrug is not one of them. Next people will be asking for iceland or kwiksave !!!! Or Poundland (5.80dhs land!) I know we've got the closest equivalent, Daiso, but they don't sell boxes of Maltesers or Toffifees for a quid. edited by Made in Sheffield on 28/08/2014

I've been asked if I'm Irish, American, Australian, South African and even German! I do try and speak a little clearer when talking to someone who isn't British but when having a conversation with someone else from 'up north' I must admit that I revert back to my mother tongue, so to speak! (the flat vowel and glottal stop rule lol).

I was given potted dog or jam sarnies for pack up. Always rushed to eat them because I had a fruit or mint Club biscuit for afters!

A couple of years ago I went to Debenhams at Ibn Battuta and saw some bras. The packaging stated that if you purchased the bras the matching briefs would be free. However, someone had attempted to hide the offer by crossing it out with a black marker! This had been done to every bra with this particular packaging. In hindsight I should have taken a photo and emailed head office. It's one thing getting ripped off with the inflated prices to start with but this tactic would be against company policy, surely?
