Thanks, DD is 17, grades to me are more important than money but when funds are limited and the chance of a better job due to age next to nil, yes it is important. My question is related to GED please. Thanks for the recommendation on a change of counselor, I will give it a try. Calamity Jane thanks a mil for your advice xxx

Thanks, yes there are emotional issues as her Father and I have been separated for almost two years now and she has had a difficult childhood due to family problems. The phone and laptop etc have all been taken away for periods but to no avail. It seems neither punishment or reward works. We have been to counseling and she refuses to go back. I dont want to give up but i need justification to pay so much money with no effort on her part.
My DD is in one of the best schools in Dubai. I have just changed companies and the
Aed 67,000 school fees are now mine to pay. She will be a Senior in September if the school promotes her. She is failing all her subjects and no amount of tutoring or rewards or punishment matters. She is very bright but simply doesnt study or turn her work in. Her highest grade is C-. Social life is her only priority. I am at wits end and am seriously considering putting her in a GED program with the hope she will get her act together. What are your thoughts?
Apologies for SHOUTING online, I was angry and only wanted to warn others so that they would not have to experience the same costs and hassels that I had to go through for pure ignorance of the law. I never expected such a rant from normally friendly ladies who provide such wonderful information. Did you really have to beat me up :(
IF YOU WANT TO SELL YOUR CAR DON'T PUT A FOR SALE SIGN IN THE WINDOW, MY SON DID AND THE MUNICIPALITY TOWED IT AWAY AS FOR SALE SIGNS ARE ILLEGAL. HAD TO GO TO BUR DUBAI POLICE STATION, 3 DIFFERENT COUNTERS PAY 510 AND THEN GET TO THE AL GHUSAIS POLICE YARD. EVEN HAD TO PAY ALL THE OUTSTANDING FINES TO GET IT BACK:(
Sorry for the late reply Beebers I have been busy moving house. Dr. :Hoshy charges by unit of Botos used not by area. I am not sure of the cost but I have always been happy with the results and the bill. I trust him, he makes me feel beautiful and doesn't hurt my pocketbook. I went to Dr. Tahir several years back and he quoted me 9000 I asked how long it would last and he said 3 months, I ran out the door never to go back. A lot of ladies on this site are using a mobile nurse for a bargain but we are talking about our face. If anything went wrong, what are the reprecussions of dealing with an unlicensed persob. My face is my face and I only want the best, I believe Dr. Hoshy is the best and I found him here on expatwoman :)
I trust Dr. Khaled El Hoshy with my life - contact the Dental Spa - Introducing something called Ageless - a face lift in a bottle, I have read up on it on the Internet and it sounds great, can't wait to try. Better to save up a little bit than be sorry later and I can vouch that Dr. Hoshy is worth every penny. And too I found him here on this site from recommendations by like minded ladies.
I agree with the ladies below - we are talking about our face and saving a few dirhams to go some place cheap is not worth risking my face. Only use licensed professionals and there are plenty in Jumeriah, search the forum as well as the left side of this page for Cosmetic Aestheticians.
