So after some very helpful ladies posted about the possibility of Insurers not renewing contracts with City Hospital, I call the insurance and they confirmed that so far, members are covered up until the 31st Jan - I'm due to give birth on the 2nd Feb!!! It's infuriating that they weren't even going to notify me of this until the end of January! Anyway, Ive been seeing Dr Elsa and been very happy with her and now desperately need to find a new doctor at American Hospital. Can anyone recommend someone who is pro-natural? Ive seen (a bit dated though) a few good reviews about Dr Braithwaite, anyone else?

I was wondering this, too, thanks ladies. Do they provide an ipod dock or cd player of any sort?

Thanks for both your replies. I thought as much. Looks like we'll have to go to a different doctor. He was a local doctor so perhaps has a different viewpoint on whats done in western countries ie. Aus, etc.

Hi All, Having trouble locating where Dr Gordon now works. It seems he's no longer at Dubai London Clinic? Any suggestions for other Aus doctors would be really helpful, too.

Thanks all for your replies. MrsB, that does sound awful! Are both you and your husband Aus citizens? Our situation is that most likely both my husband and I will change to Visit Visas so no residential visa's for either of us. Ive spoken to Dubai Immigration and as far as what they've said its 'no problem' to give birth with both of us only being on valid visit visas. Though, reading all of your comments it makes me wonder! I tried confirming with Australian Visa Centre but they couldn't help. What to do...!

Ok, thanks for your reply. And if for some reason or another, I cant be sponsored (ex. he doesn't get visa) is it illegal to give birth without my having a residential visa, do you know?

Hi ladies, Does anyone know the rules/law for giving birth in Dubai and whether or not I have to be on a residential visa? My husband is looking at taking a contractual job which will only provide a visa for him and not me. I am planning on giving birth at City Hospital. Does anyone know if I am still allowed to give birth here without visa/insurance and just pay for it directly?

Something else that you might prefer is Invisible Zinc UV SPF30+ Foundation. Its great, great stuff. I wear suncream underneath just as extra protection, but if your looking just for a SPF30 foundation, I would def reccomend this. Its Australian but I believe you can order online from UK, South Africa, etc. http://www.invisiblezinc.com/ or http://www.beautybay.com/skincare/invisiblezinc/g/uvsilkshieldfoundationspf30/ edited by millymoo on 12/09/2012

Thanks all, I feel better. Im 5 months pregnant and I get a little paranoid! And I'll definitely remember that vinegar tip, thank you. I got veges from Greenheart for a while, they're great. I've just placed an order for delivery with Ripe Organics, just to compare. ripeme.com

I use the Vichy SPF 50 Mattifying Face Fluid instead of moisturiser during the day and I really like it. I have particularly oily skin and it doesn't make my face greasy at all and I can add makeup over it. edited by millymoo on 11/09/2012

Hi all, wondered if I could pick your brains! I bought a refrigerated chicken from the Organic Shop 2-3 days ago, and it doesn't expire for another 2 days. However, when I opened it to cook it today, it looks fine but it had a very strong smell. I've usually only bought the frozen chickens from the Organic Shop and never noticed this smell when they've defrosted. Is it perhaps a cryovac/vaccuumed odour that's normal? Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi Ladies! Anyone have anything good/not so good things to say about Top to Toes Beauty Salon behind mOe? They have a voucher on Groupon and it includes a massage or (in my case) pregnancy massage and just want to see if they're qualified enough for it to be worth my visiting. Cant even find their website, which to be honest, I do a small amount of judging based upon their website haha

Thanks Ladies. I started back at Pilates today so hopefully that will help. If not, I'm going to go ahead with my appointment in a couple of weeks when Dr is back. Everyone still seems to be on leave!

Thanks so much ladies for your good wishes and replies. Im going to look into those names now. Im sure it wont make everything perfect but even if my husband and I just learn about 'arguing constructively', if there is such a thing ;) amidst hormones and no sleep, it will be priceless in my opinion! haha

050 179 4045 takemyjunkuae.com This company takes many items, and broken items to restore for charity. I think they just accept tips as its not for profit but they'll come and pick up most items from you.

Thank you BellaUk and ilovewine for your replies! I feel much more confident. Ive been tossing up between Dr Saab and Dr Dany, and to know you were pleased with both is a big help. I'd decided yesterday to bite the bullet and research botch surgeries/doctor stories in Dubai, there were a little more than I was prepared for! haha
