we stayed at the Antarara at the fishermans village .... lovely place .. also you could go to koh phangan for a few days... they would pick you up straight from the beach...

You will not go wrong with Anantara Bohput! Just come back from there. It is a wonderful resort, right next to Fisherman's Village. Plenty of dining options. The Executive Chef, Don Lawson, went out of his way to look after me and my family. Would love to go back! Make the most of Happy Hour (which is generally extended by the bar staff). Good locations and lovely staff. HTH haha just told her the same thing.... amazing place loved it my bestie had her wedding there.. <em>edited by Mrsbrown nz on 03/09/2012</em>

Try Emax in Mirdiff city centre they have a good range.. also sharaf DG tend to be a wee bit more expensive for general things...

at Marina Pinnacle tower, its in the tall group of towers opp barasti.. been at lunchtime.. they had prawns still moving so i think its fresh today :)

Hello Maple.. The millennium has an Italian, Asian, champagne bar and A Belgium beer café… At the Media Rotana there is Prego’s which is lovely, I would avoid channels and Nelsons… At the Byblos hotel in Tecom there is a hidden secret called Al dente which sorry is Italian again :) but amazing food doesn’t look much but quiet and can have a nice vino while you read your book…. Mall of the Emirates is a taxi ride away, plenty of eateries there also… it depends on your budget.. Dubai has a number of business travelers so nobody minds if you sit and have a vino and meal by yourself, take your IPad, kindle or book to amuse yourself… <em>edited by Mrsbrown nz on 29/08/2012</em>

GA.. its one thing i have learned is Dubai makes you quite hardnosed even when you dont mean to; my husbo and I used to have the upmost patience for people but this soon went out the window when people take advantage of this well and truely, take things in its stride... i do i get absorbed in my little world when at the mall..

Please stay as far away as possie for pet palace in al quoz it's a terrible place for cats abd dogs!!! They aren't animal trained and the owner is a money grabbing so and so. He's doesnt care about animals at all only money. oh no am seriously worried..... i have my puss booked in there to stay tommorrow night for 5 nights as Fiona didnt have any space... summerbreeze that phone number is off... what about pet zone?? <em>edited by Mrsbrown nz on 13/08/2012</em>

KateH there are not that many places with a large balcony that i have seen the SP oasis apartments have a sizeable one but not as big as motorcity. the other one that I can think of is Silicon arch... Hope this helps

TDB.. i had my 30th at Medzo at Wafi... it was lovely a low key affair... food was amazing and so was the service... they gave us a really good deal on booze also... i had 30 people it was really lovely, close friends and family wouldnt change it ! an idea anyway
