I'm from the Wirral too, grew up in Parkgate, lived in West Kirby and finally Heswall before getting married and relocating here with my hubby a year ago......they always say the Wirral is the 'Insular Peninsula' so I am sure we all have people/places in common! xx

Have you looked at Trident Grand Residence? All the benefits of JBR (restaurants, coffee shops etc) and right by the beach, but none of the traffic problems! Apartments are brand new, floor to ceiling windows with either marina views or sea views and a great finish (bosch appliances in the kitchen, plasma TV etc etc). Easy to get to SZR. Lovely pool and a tennis court.....happy house hunting!

Thank you ladies, I can't stand going to the dentist but vanity is forcing my hand! BellaUK - the dentist you recommended isn't listed at Jebel Ali but at Trade Centre Apartments - is this him? http://www.gmcclinics.com/our_doctors_details.php?doctorID=27

Hi Ladies, Help!! I had a veneer on one of my front teeth 10 years ago, and desperately need to have it replaced. Do any of you have experience of a good dentist for veneers in Dubai?? I'm terrified of the dentist too, so a sympathetic one would be great! Thanks in advance x

My hubbie has just been treated at the Chiropody Centre on the Beach Road, run by a German chap called Jorge and was v impressed. It's about 15 mins in the car from JBR not too far along from JBH. HTH! xx

Hi Ladies, Can anyone recommend a laundry service in the marina that could do our bed linen on a regular basis? Are there any services that collect and drop off, and any idea of costs?? Thanks in advance xx

Hi Christeen, just read your post and wondered if you had considered trying hypnotherapy? My husband was a dedicated 40-a-day smoker, and had been for over 20 years, but visisted a lady hypnotherapist called Alla in Knowledge Village in June and hasn't touched a cigarette (or even had any cravings or physical withdrawal symptoms!) since. Being pregnant is stressful enough, so maybe this would be a preferable route to cold turkey! I can find her contact details if you are interested. Good luck! xx

Hi, we've stayed at Zighy Bay and although it was lovely and very remote, we found the food and drink to be extortionate, far more so than even Dubai's priciest. We went anticpating to pay top whack, but it was so expensive it really took the edge off our stay (500AED ish for 2 very average kebabs for dinner and 1 G&T). As an alternative we had a lovely break in a pool villa at Qasr al Sarab (about a 3 hours drive from Dubai) and negtiated a great deal that included dinner and breakfast. Would definitely go back there....!
