We were in the SE in June with our baby - only bit of advice I have is check that the pool is heated, outr was not and couldnt use it the whole time as it was freezing :-( So going in Sept/Oct be a better time. Wont be as cold in June. Enjoy! The weather was amazing, it was only the pool that was cold

i am from uk so have never been to the usa . have started a business here but we feel that with the cost of living increasing - it will be like its all work with not much savings to show for. the only downside for me is that i dont have any immediate family in the usa besides my in laws . i have also grown used to dubai's lifestyle - convenient with taxis , metro and all ... really dont know what to do !! guess i am scared You think the US doesn't have taxis and metros? It's not living in the stone age! Why don't you go visit before you commit to moving there? Hahaha thats why I asked what part of the US - Have a place in Calabasas, CA and you have to drive everywhere but obviously in LA there is transport

If the only reason you want 2 kids is so that they can look after each other when you die, thats a pretty rubbish reason to have kids (IMO) If you died in 2 years (I hope you dont, Im just saying...) you will have 2 orphaned kids that someone has to look after. They could get split up or put into care because nobody can take them both on Hi mumofmoo, it's not the only reason, I mentioned that because that is simply how I feel. I have a sibling and my life would be incomplete without her. I am speaking from a support network perspective. I could go on and on about why I want another child, but as a mother, I am sure you know the reasons already. Im just playing devils advocate. I woudl not even entertain the idea of having only one child. Having said that, I dispise my sibling. Actually hate him, dont talk to him and couldnt care less what happens to him so having a sibling doesnt always work out how us mothers would like. You just have to talk to your DH and tell him how you feel and either convince him to have another or bow out and suck it up and possibly live with the regret. Its not like there is a comprimise anywhere

Rafelisia, I'm looking at mid-career/senior level positions. I've got over 6 years of experience in my field. Sorry to say, but 6 years experience is generally not enough for a senior level position. Most of the senior level roles that I know of across a range of industries require closer to 10-15 years of professional experience. This might be a matter of managing/adjusting expectations. If 6 years was enough to be a senior level postion, I would have been running offices at 22!! Some fields of work are different I suppose, like lawyers that are 6 years post qualified are considered to be senior, but thats the only position I can think of. It has taken me 13 years to get to a "senior" level

For me, the only time a C section came up during labour was because there was an actual need. I told my Dr and the midwives to give me 1 more hour and I managed to have a natural birth My Dr (Dr Britt at City) assumed I would go natural and didnt once ask me if I wanted anything else or try and push anything onto me to be honest, I have heard a lot of women say they were bullied into a C section but frankly, I think they were just too scared to do it how outr bodies intended. Just tell your Dr that you do not want a C section unless it is a medical emergancy and that should be that. neaer the time they will ask about pain relief but you can decline and then change your mind on the day anyway you can ask your Dr anything at anytime, if you feel like you cannot then I would suggest you change your doc. Having a baby is not easy for most people. It can be scary as you cant see what is happening and you have all sorts of pains etc. You have to be able to tlk to your Dr and trust that she will do what is right for you hey Expat - 3 people in the last 3 months were told that were having boys at the 12 month scan and then found out they were girls. Also, anyone doing a scan that early should only say "there is a 70% chance of it being a boy (for example) because the genitals have not formed by 12 weeks so please dont go buying all blue just yet, just in case :-) Having said that, i sold all my pink stuff as I am convinced I am having a biy and I dont know yet hahha

ANON - its up to you, I wouldnt be induced if I was fine and healthy and so was my baby. I went into labout and after 3 days they broke my waters and gave me the drug to "induce me" and help me along. This resulted in 12 hours of agony and almost had to have a c section because my baby just was not ready to be forced out. Thankfully, I found the strength to get her out before they tried cutting her out of me. There are good stories and bad stories but for me, pregnancy is not always 40 weeks from the date the Dr decides, if your baby was ready, he would be coming out alone. Perhaps they misdated you and you are currently 38 weeks (you just dont know) Please make YOUR choice and do what YOU would like and best of luck x

Hi Leah, Im sure I am having a boy, even though he keeps hiding his willy for scans lol. Must be a shy boy (im not even entertaining the fact it could be a girl. Its not lol) I actually went to Baby Bazaar this weekend, was ok, a few good things to be had but mostly people selling their used clothes at unreasonable prices, and new stuff like maternity and nursing dresses at inflated prices (IMO) You feeling ok? Nose swollen much? lol

There are lots of options and I wouldnt go near bars like that. That is not clean eating in my opinion. almost 50% of the calories are made up of fat!!! 14% sodium content is also dire. Either you need to research your healthy eating or you work for Quest - either way, I have not seen these outside of the US edited by mumofmoo on 19/02/2014

Im not sure but call Al Jazeera, they sell the sports card for 500 a year but you need to buy a box too, not sure if you have to have OSN first or anything like that though. If you are getting TV and INternet anyway then Triple play by Etisalat gives you a **** TV package that you can add sport to so just call them and ask

Speak to where you bought it from and demand they pay for the repairs. If they are decent they will fix it but I dont think you have a leg to stand on as it is not a new car from the dealership

I have a 10 month old who has never been a good sleeper. She maps twice a day for 30 minutes but goes to bed at 6.30-7pm and stays in bed for 12 hours. I would suggest that a 5pm nap is far too late (im no pro) but if you try and have the last nap around tea time (4 ish) and then maybe he will be ready for bed around 6/7?

Most of us have been there BumbleBee - it hurts but please remember that you have been wronged by him and he does not deserve your hurt and your tears. Go out, have fun with friends, remember that life is not about a$$holes that bring us down. You dont need bad people in your life so keep him out. As for good men, I met my DH in Dubai, we dated, we fell in love, we got married, we had a daughter, we have one on the way and been happily married for 5 years now. Not saying he is perfect but there are good men around and the right one will come along at the right time Chin up and think about all the great things in your life x

Alcohol is not allowed to be taken is as Yorky says I dont think it is expensive in the a lot of the resorts, its a similar price to hear but a bit cheaper in the places that I have been to. If you are going to one of the very high end resorts then yes, it is probably expensive like everything else will be

Thank you so much for your replies. I have booked an appointment with Dr. George for my NT Scan on the 24th of February (13th week, no free appointment before that). I was also told that he has his own patients (delivering) as well so I'll speak with him for that as well. One question regarding City hospital: Do you have a antenatal package? I am looking at the antenatal package but they told me that it includes only 2 ultrasounds (to see the baby) and If you need more you need to pay extra. Is this the case or the nurce did not know what she was talking about. It sounds very strange to get only 2 ultrasounds. Back home you get an ultrasound each month you visit your doctor. This is the way the doctor makes sure that the baby is ok and growing. As for belly showing, I'm also showing since week 7. It is so nice most of the time but it is not funny when I realise my own clothes do not fit me and I look awful in them. Have already started wearing pregnancy collant, as I feel comfortable only in them. I dont know about the packages either but I do know that in the UK you only get a scan at 20 weeks and one other I believe. It is not necessary to have scans all the time. the only reason we all have so many is because we can as it is paid for by our insurance. Sorry, that is not much help im afraid

I feel like a fool for wasting my time and trying out the tests. Waiting for my 20 week scan now.. Dont feel like a fool - it is fun to try all the old woves tales etc and see what they say. At the end of the day, its not long to wait and its either a boy or a girl so no big surprise haha

Trust me, its very nice to not show, still wear normal clothes and be able to see your feet - the time will come when you will wish for the bump to go away as it will get in your way all the time ;-) Enjoy being able to sleep on your tummy or you side without having a bump getting i the way x

we subscribe to OSN and to Al Jazeera Sports. AJ have changed to BeIN sports now but we still cannot watch EPL matches. There was a fault, its been going on for days. They are trying to make those who bought a new OSN box to fit both cards (like we had to ) buy another box from Al Jazeera!!!

I see Dr Britt Clausson at City hospital and she delivered my girl 10 months ago so seemed logical to see her again DIPZ20 - The old wives tales are such rubbish. My pregnancy with my girl was flawless, easy, I wasnt fat, I didnt have bad skin etc. Did all the silly gender tests and all said boy except 2 and she is most definantely not a boy ;-) Im pretty sure I am carrying aboy now, and my skin is not great and im really windy lol. reading the posts here had me wondered when i am due?? I have completed 13 weeks and according to doc its 22 aug. which i doubt now. :) have to calculate on my own or make a visit soon to my previous gynae who has finally returned from holidays. i am hoping for a girl too and have my fingers crossed for another few weeks. has anyone used the gender test kit which is available now a days...i am desperate to try one to ease my mind :) Your dates are wrong also you should have had your NT scan by now and what they tell you as your due date is the one you should be using, not something you calculate yourself As for finding out the ***, even the pros can make mistakes so early, would be horrible to think you are having a girl to find out later it is not. Just be paient and wait a little while longer
