Morning! The Zumba class is organised through one of the ladies that goes to the City Centre Wives club on Sunday mornings at Jones the Grocer. They are a really friendly bunch and well worth coming along. The Zumba is only starting this week so even if you come along to Jones with Crewegirl21 next Sunday we will still all be just starting out. I know you only want to come along to laugh at my lack of co-ordination ;) Thank you flip flop for passing on my details I'll see you on wednesday I'll be the one at the back of the class trying not to get noticed :)

Hi Stella The best hotel I've stayed at is the Hilton you can get a great deal if you book through Expedia it close to the museums and easy to get to from the airport about 20euros by cab its in a lovely suburb. It's a short tram ride into the centre or a 20min walk

I am planning to go to jones the grocer on Sunday 18th as its hubby's first day at work and my first day of being alone so am going to get out there. I'm on the Facebook group. I don't want to put my email on here as did it once and received a strange email from someone wanting strange things doing to them.lol. Hi Mustard You've got some brilliant advice and info from everyone here - honestly I've lived in 5 different countries now and the women in Qatar are the friendliest and most laid back I've ever met. :) Pompey bird is right - come along to Jones on Sunday, I was so nervous the first time but within a few minutes I was chatting to a group of total strangers and by the end of the morning I had loads of email address and phone numbers. One thing leads to another here and you'll end up doing things you didn't think you would. (I've signed up for Zumba which I can't really believe LOL!) Pretty much everybody I've spoked to on the Sunday is in the same boat - no kids or no kids here in Doha and most not working so we all go through the same feelings from time to time. You'll be right as rain soon. x Where are the Zumba classes I would love to do that :)

Thank you all so much Pompey bird 33 I have heard about the group at Jones I was supposed to go a couple of months ago but it clashed with my visa run I will try to get there this week. Always nervous about walking into a room full of strangers for the first time. edited by Mustard on 08/11/2012

Hi mustard, I feel your pain! I'm a lawyer and was working for 10 years in a row before moving with DH to India, didn't know how to survive 24 hours without a job! Feefmick is right, getting a daily structure is the key, plus the more you do the more you will find to do, thats's why we seem to find the most interesting things to do when you have your plate full :-) Maybe you will find this odd, but one of those things I tried when I had all that free time is to learn a proper meditation technic. You can do it yourself and only for the well being benefits, it's not necessary a religious thing, I find mindfulness meditation really helpful for many reasons, might be worth to check. Being a trailing spouse (just the term is awful) could feel as a life sentence sometimes for sure. Turn that out on your favor and always think that it can be much worse. I keep remembering the story of the wife who went to her friend to tell her how miserable her life was, taking care of the house, the kids, the cleaning, the cooking, etc. Her friend told her to put a goat on top of the dinning table and to come back the next day. When she replied all the nasty things the goat did, her friend says: you see, it can really be worst! And it really can! Two month ago I was asking here in this forum tips to get my drivers license, and was really annoyed for the whole thing and now I'm running like crazy selling all my stuff because we are already leaving, oh well, the joy of being an expat! HTH thank you loloatdoha great story.it's a shame your leaving

I'm sorry that happened when you just wanted to help someone mpp_jl. Unfortunately some people are just plain rude. It could be worse though, check this out: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4610838/House-ransacked-after-Craigslist-yard-sale.html Daza the comments are even funnier!!! "I'm glad they left those chairs. I would have left those chairs." :D LOL :)
