Hi Sarah We live in Lime tree and I have been using Jumeira maids since we moved in last December. They did the original handover clean. For me they are fine , no problems . They have just increased their charges to AED 35 and I think it is a minimum of 4 hours. I have two maids once a week for four hours and they always finish our 5 bedroom plus do a bit of ironing. There is only two of us however so not too hard a paper round !

Perfect , just what I was thinking of. I mentioned the camel ride to my DH who laughed and said that I would be terrified - is it scary ? I imagine not but just checking !

Thanks Gentle , I am now hoping for some replies from people who have stayed there as it is ticking a lot of boxes ! Especially the idea of having a private dinner served by a very discreet waiter on your pool terrace. I can see us sitting there in our dressing gowns - we give lazy people a bad name !

Just tried it for the 24th May (our actual anniversary) and the price dropped to c 4000 - after the price for the 23rd May it started to sound cheap - I have been Dubai'ed ! Any opinions on the food , desert experiences from those that have been ?

Thanks so much Ajfa and Gentle , they both look really good. Does anyone have any experience of Chef Tomas Reger ? Also any thoughts on Al Maha ? Having just got our own pool finished I can't quite get my head around going to stay in a hotel and sharing one/staying locally but Al Maha seems to offer a bit of a different experience. But at a price !

Gosh you are starting to make me question what it is I am actually looking for ! We are quite low key and really happy in our own company and tend not to like too much fuss so probably a waiter , butler and or chef hanging over us all evening might not be our thing. ! Back to the drawing board !

Thanks Silvset - have you or anyone else tried the Rhassoul experience at the One and Only The Palm. I love the setting at this hotel and we could pop over to 101 for drinks too. I am thinking of spreading the celebrations out over three days so the spa , bar , restaurant bits do not need to be at the same place.

Thank you Horizonmum ! I am not sure if the Zen option would work for just two people ? Sorry I did not make it clear that it is not for a party.

Hi Daisylegs We are owners at JGE and moved in last December , so are definitely pioneers, being one of the first residents ! As I am sure you have noticed it is still something of a building site but having lived here for four months you can really see the improvements day by day . The connectivity is really good , Al Fay road is perfect and there is so little traffic that you can be in the Marina in 15 minutes , MOE in 20 and Dubai Mall in 25. The new Club House is set to open in time for the Race to Dubai tournament in November and from the plans it will be lovely and a real boost for the development. We use the temporary clubhouse every weekend and as it is walking distance for us it is fine for now. Not sure which community you are thinking about as there are a number of different developers but from our perspective the build quality is very good . From what I hear the other communities are equally good but I have no personal experience to confirm this . Given the launch prices however this was always going to be a a development that you would expect to have a high spec - although this is Dubai ! Any questions you have I am happy to help

Thanks for your help. We think it maybe the designation as male servant. There are some other options like gardener , cook etc but we are worried that they may then require some proof of qualifications or that it may get rejected in the Phillipines ? Hopefully somebody has some experience of this ?

No , we did contact them and were put off by the upfront design fee. The difficulty you will have just using a local company is the approvals process with JGE . When we applied our landscaper had to provide about 14 pages of detailed drawings and plans even to the extent of naming and sending pictures of the planting ! I am not sure the average low cost landscape company will be able to achieve this . Another option , the villa next door to us is going to be rented out and they have just put new sand up to the level of the terraces so it looks clean and tidy. So far we have found it quite a time consuming process which you really need to be here to do as you have to make decisions , select hardscaping , planting .... which can be difficult to do when you are thousands of miles away ! Perhaps you can check with admin how we can pm on this as it is probably easier ?

We are using the same company for the landscaping as the swimming pool. The experience with the pool has been good but so far the landscaping has been quite slow. I am not sure yet if I could really recommend them. We are really lucky however that CHI are great to deal with as a developer. If you contact the Development Director he used to be a landscape architect and I am sure he will help to point you in the right direction. I spoke to him this morning about who he might recommend as a letting agent as they are also letting some of their own properties and he said that he would be happy to help. Good luck with the handover ! We have a Granada and we love it .

Hi Lemondrops We own at JGE and moved into our villa in Lime Tree Valley in December. Not sure which community you are but for us the handover was very professional . You receive the keys and do all the snagging on the same day . Our swimming pool is finished now and the landscaping works have just started. Unfortunately in JGE they require you to obtain their approval before you can commence any landscaping works. This can take several months . On a positive note it is an amazing place to live , still a work in progress but you can see the potential . The views from our villa of the golf course are stunning. Can't wait to stand on the terrace watching the Race to Dubai tournament in November ! Please feel free to pm me and I can try to answer any questions that you have.
