Thanks for your replies. I have never lived in open plan kitchen and living space so good to know you both quite like it. I thought I saw some pools and basket ball courts, so hopefully if they are not open it should not be long. Does anyone else have any more to add, do you enjoy living there, at the moment it looks well maintained are there any major maintenance problems with any of the houses. Thanks all for taking you time to answer.

Please check your rights with RERA both in relation to rent renewal and also sale of the property. These are the people who will give you correct advice not just their understanding of the rules. However my understanding is if you buy a property with a tennent in you have to adhere to their existing contract, you would then need to give one years notice if you inteneded on moving in yourself. You could negotaite if the landlord wants to sell saying you will move out but only if they compensate you for moving costs and agents fees. RERA are very approachable and to my knowledge making LL adhere to their regulations in relation to rent rises and renewals. Good Luck

I would go and visit a dermatologist, they can assess how bad the burn is and if it is likely to scar. As you are doing keep pictures and also a diary of how it is each day and how it effects you - it is on your face after all and can not be easily hidden. It is the salons duty of care to make sure they do not burn or injure you during any treatment. I have also been told - future reference for you ladies that if you get injured through neglegence of an establishment you should call the police as this is a criminal offence.

Surely Visa length and Contract length are 2 different issues. You should look at the contract you signed, if in any doubt about your rights ask at the Ministry of Labour. Then you can make a decission based on the best facts you can.

Not sure where you are but there is a great new home accessory shop opened at The Green Community in the Market Place. They had cushions in so many different colours including red, I bought some great turquoise ones, they also had runners to match alot of the cushions plus lots of other accessories including the gorgeous smelling Soy candles. Cant remember the full name but it was Maison ......?

Since DU did the updates to the systems nothing works as it did before. All our favourites got deleted, non of our series link recording work and the same as you if we try and fast forward a programme it jumps to the end of the recording and you have to either start it again or wind it backwards. However it does not happen with every programme. It is nothing to do with WIFI it is DU not having any idea about what they are doing. Sorry have no idea how to fix it, nor do DU, just wanted to let you know you are not alone.

I think there are 2 elements to Palm Cooling bills. 1 - The annual capacity charge, my understanding is this is for having the privillage of using their equipment!!, needs to be paid even when the propert is unoccupied. (like a standing charge) 2 - The actual consumption cost of chilled water. Also the rules of PDC have changed on a regular basis as to if all the bill is sent to the owner, the resident of the property or split. The agreement in the tennancy contract would override any of PDC rules. They are not too bad at Ibn Bhattuta PDC, near the balloon if you need clarification.

The PDC capacity charge in a large 2 bed in the shoreline was AED411.88 per month, so it varies.

Make sure you find out exactly what facilities you have access to. I dont know if Golden Mile apartments have pool or beach access, the shoreline have beach pool and gym access and I think the Marina has pool and probably gym access - please dont take this as 100% correct. Have you also thought about Oceana or Fairmont residences, Oceana are modern and have pool, beach and a gym. Fairmont has a lovely pool area. Also find out what is included in the rent as Crystil has said, on the Palm there is a monthly standing charge fee for Palm district cooling on top of the fee for usage. Make sure you clearly understand what you pay for and what the landlord pays for and get it writen in the lease.

The easiest petrol station if you live on The Palm is on the slip road comming off Sheikh Zahed Road. If you are driving down SZR from Dubai direction to get on the Palm you take the slip road for The Palm and the Marina, just before you turn onto the road leading directly to the Palm there is a petrol station with Burger King. Once you have filled up with petrol you can just rejoin the road which will the take you onto the Palm. Hope this makes sense.

Shows are every 30 minutes from 6pm to 10pm on weekdays and from 6pm to 11pm on weekends. I think at the weekend there are 2 shows on around 1pm As Wuffles said best to ring and check though - 800-DUBAI-MALL (800-382246255)

What status is her new visa? Is it a work visa? I thought that for certain countries if you came in on a tourist visa you had to be out of the country for 30 days before you could return on any other visa. Would be interested to find out the answer as well.

The level you are is dependant on the amount of tier miles you earn in a year (you actualy are given about 13 months) not the amount of miles you earn. You do not get tier miles on flights paid for fully with miles, however if you pay for economy then use miles for an upgrade you get credited with the tier miles based economy, and the same for purchase business and upgrade to first you get credited with the relevant business tier miles for business for that flight.

Dont bother complaining to Nakheel, have you checked to see who their Chairman is! My understanding is that Royal Gas were contracted by Lootah but they were doing such a bad job that Lootah took over. My opinion is that all Nakheel projects will soon be the same as far as Gas supply goes. The only option if you want to avoid this situation and expence is to cook with electric.

As a resident, yes you should get 'free' use of the gym and beach club. It is not actualy free though the owner of the apartment pays a charge for these to Nakheel along with his service charge, I am aware that some Landlords may try and pass this on so make sure your contract states that you do not have to pay this charge and that it is included in your rent.

I dont think that they have any stores in the UAE, I also buy their shoes as they have larger sizes but have to wait to go back to the UK. They do have a web site which will deliver here, but the delivery costs are quite high - £45 for first item then £7 or £7.50 for each additional item. Went there last weekend. The shows were only on 2 times an hour not the previous 3. ( i.e. at half past and on the hour) In the 2 hours (4) shows we saw the fire was only on with 1 of them. This means that it may still be on but you may miss it unless you are there at the right time.

Hi This has been discussed many times - Please note I am only giving you the rules not saying if they are right or wrong as I have been attacked on here many times just for making people aware of the Rules and Regulations on the Palm. At the moment we know that the rules are not inforced by Nakheel, but they may be one day. The only place that dogs are allowed to be kept according to the Rules is in the Villas. Landlords/estate agents etc do not have the power to over rule the regulations. However we all know that dogs are kept in apartments on the Palm, it is up to you if you are happy to take the chance knowing that these rules may be enforced in the future.
