I itch after I shower :(, and we're well on our way to being bald (don't know if that's connected to the water :)) I bought a humidifier a few weeks ago, and by the second day the base where the water pools was slimy and full of sediment ... there's definitely something not so great going on with the water. Check out these filters, we're planning to get one next week. http://www.swissblu.com/products/vita-c-shower-jet.html (I think this one used to be stocked at the pharmacy beside the small Spinney's) http://h2opureblue.com/index.php

That's right ... you don't need to show the item at all, you only need the receipt. It's a very strange concept to me too, but if it works for the stores, who am I to complain? ;-)

BM, In the US it's standard that if an item goes on sale within 2 weeks of when you purchased it, you simply show your receipt and you get refunded the difference in price. I think this is the system that the OP is used to, and I'm assuming is what she was asking the store in question to do for her.

You ladies are amazing! Thank you for all the replies and for the reassurance :-) DubaiCat, you are always so nice and so thoughtful ... thanks for taking the time to post what you did, it made me smile. Huge congrats to you, you must be so happy :-) beigey, I love the word 'lactivist', and I really enjoy reading your blog. Hi, Green-ish! It's nice to 'hear' from you :-) DS is a pretty awesome baby (no, I'm not biased :D), he's (too) active, extremely aware, very strong, happy with a wicked little sense of humour, and is meeting all his milestones. He's also at the top of the charts for height (which probably makes him appear even more skinny :)), and he's already more than double his birth weight. I normally wouldn't be concerned with charts or comparisons, but 200g in 3 months sounds wrong. He was last weighed at 6 months, so I'm not sure exactly o the gain occurred, but it averages out to just under 70g per month. That's worrying to me. I'm now paying exta special attention to my diet (and I just vacuumed off a box of After Eight, saw that tip from HAK on another thread :D) plus I bought some breastfeeding tea for myself, and I'm trying to just casually offer him food throughout the day instead of having really structured mealtimes (he does loooove him some broccoli, and it's great fun for me to play identify the foods in his nappy the next day ... never thought I'd see the day when I'd be excited about poo). TanyaR, thanks for such a detailed post. I've been looking for your FB group but haven't been able to find it, would you be able to provide a link? I'm not sure what responses I was hoping to hear, but you all have helped to make me feel stronger and more relaxed about all this. Thank you.

What makes the Maclaren good for travelling, KellsBells? I'm also looking for a stroller to travel with, one that is light and folds up small ... I was just going to buy a cheap supermarket one though ;-) <em>edited by nix.dubai on 11/04/2011</em>

I'm a huge fan of baby led weaning. We started ds on french fry shaped pieces of food at about 6 months and now at almost a year he's a great eater. He loves meat, fish, chicken, all fruit and some vegetables. He also likes pasta and eggs. Meal times are a pleasure, we all sit around the table and eat, there is no begging the baby to eat or trying to sneak food in. He likes sitting at the table and enjoys going to restaurants! The other week we took him to brunch and he sat happily at the table trying things for 2 hours! The down sides are that 1) it's messy and2) it's time consuming. Most of the time it's lovely to share a leisurely meal but sometimes it would be practical to do a 5 minute breakfast on the way out the door. If you are interested in blw definitely check out Gil Rapley's book. There is a blw dubai facebook group as well. Could you give me a link to the facebook group please? Thank you :)

If anyones been looking I've found ZBeds (fold up extra bed) in Ace beside Ikea. 4x diff qualities from springs to slat bases so also good for adults (Had Hubby test them all) Thought they were a really good price and just the right size to store at the back of a built in wardrobe. Also steam mops but thats another thread ;) Could you start that thread please;) I got a brochure for steam mops from ACE recently and was wondering if they're any good.

Has anyone tried the itti bitti tutto? this is what I'm waiting for so I'll let you know when they arrive.. cheaper to order from UK than Oz including the postage quotes, although I've got a visitor bringing them over for me. I ordered from cheeksandcherries.co.uk Thanks for the info, pentel. Have you gotten the nappies as yet? How are you liking them?

ours doesn't have a button that says "dry only" there's a dial for the dryer with different functions and the time. the four buttons on the side of it, the black ones, don't have dry only on them either. so should i turn the dial to a time and then press "play"? I *think* that that's what I do ... don"t select any wash cycle, just choose the drying time then press start.

[b'>you need to have same size in master and guest or it will never work[/b'>, I assume you have some single beds too? [b'>Thats 3 sizes in that case. Dont think I could sleep at night if the sheets were all in the same cupboard then, haha[/b'>. Maybe store the sheets for each bed in the same room as the bed so they dont get mixed up. (Seriously, non OCD'ers, stay away, we ARE crazy, we know already, lol) That literally made me laugh out loud! :-)))
