Redlesley, I certainly intend to. It was just frustrating as the security people told me that they were no longer accepting and that they took everything away earlier this morning.

So frustrating. I spent the evening and better part of early morning packing up many bags of clothing shoes, linens, kitchen items, lots of hotel size toiletries, soaps, etc. only to be told they were no longer accepting donations when I got to Armanda Tower around 11:30 this morning. Not knowing where other locations were in JLT and time constraints I had to keep going. So, here I sit with a car full of stuff.

Favorite is Knutson (usually Spinney's or Safeway), but pricey. Good alternative, is the Carreforre brand especially when cooking as it's fairly inexpensive. Sometimes you can find Richfield (off brand from the State's I believe.

Apricot, a new one was delivered yesterday. Looking at this one now makes me realize how bad my old one had become. Thanks for inquiring. By the way, for information purposes only, I finally got over to Carrefore at MOE for the first time in weeks just this evening -- did not see one turkey! Maybe they sold out and more will be coming this week -- but not a one of any brand.

Just a quick update. I stopped into Choithram's at the Greens today. They had a good number of Butterball Turkeys -- mostly the smaller ones which are usually harder to find --- around the 5 kg range. Costs run around 80 Dhs. up to 100 Dhs. I had intended to get to Carrefore today but I woke up to a broken refrigerator. It was good thing I had not bought my turkey yet. Been shopping all day but won't have new fridge till Sunday if I am lucky. Dinner party postponed to next week.

My oldest friend lives there and, in fact, I was just visiting with her today. It is a great area to live. Her area is quiet but an Aswaq just around the corner. To get to great shopping, groceries, malls, are all fairly close in that it connects quickly to most major roads. She loves it and has been there for quite a few years. I would certainly consider it.

I was at Safeway the other day and they had a new shipment in. I noticed the Captian Crunch but did not check for Lucky Charms. Perhaps those came in too.

I know they are expensive. If you know how much is in your band already, perhaps you can persuade them to add/take out a certain amount without doing the floroscopy (or whatever that is called). If it is a small amount, I don't really see a need for the xray other than cost. Also, if you are having some added, do make sure you get the bottle of "water" that they open as you have paid for it even though they will throw it out once you leave. This could help defray cost in future as well. Hope this helps. If you want to discuss further, you can email me at n k s h e e r at hotmail.

I used to just buy a couple of magazines (they are a luxury here -- for me anyway). Wrap them really nice and add in a good bar of chocolate. My friends used to say that they really enjoyed the indulgence.

I know I saw them the other day at Giant in the meat department. They had a special cooler out with just turkeys in them -- most of them Butterballs. I have seen them at Spinneys (Meadows) and Lulu's. I've decided today to put together a turkey dinner for my friends on Saturday and will be looking for one myself tomorrow and report back.

I had the band done years ago, and it was done at the American Hospital. However, there are a number of places here that can do it. I would suggest you look at a copy of the Connector in the green pages at the back. It lists a number of places as well as ads for clinics and hospitals who do them here. Hope this helps. Congratuations.

Debliz, I will have another look at Lakeland, but I only seem to recall seeing the "Shark" model. Maybe I missed something or they were out of stock. At least worth checking into. I'd love a polisher/steamer as my whole house was done in polished tiles--hence the desire to have this mop. All I see when I finish mopping is the water marks unless I buff after mopping. So annoying.

Yes, I can buy something else. It's just that this was sort of an indulgence product and was hoping to justify it in my mind that it was "free". Research shows that Lakeland has "The shark" which was voted highly but comes with a price tag of over l,000 Dhs. Ace has a few with name brands such as Black and Decker, Hoover, and Karcher. Prices are around 300 on up (lower rated). I might just look at a new food processor -- we'll see. Thanks so much for your thoughts.

Maskhara, thank you so much for the link. I must admit that I, too, found this link but, as you can see, there is no information on it (other than it is obviously overpriced on this link!). I am hoping to find something on it's quality et al. I am prepared to buy it as I may have no other choice. Just hoping someone may have some feedback. Thank you very much for your efforts on my behalf.

It's going to be close, but I am hopeful that Obama will prevail. I think he did the best he could given the circumstances of the world/economy. If Romney is the best they (the Republicans) have to offer as an alternative, it is just plain sad.

My son and I finally popped into the Hard Rock last week for lunch. The food was good, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service was great. In fact, the newish waitress misunderstood my request for a doggy bag of my meal and binned it. The manager actually offered to refire a whole new entree for me to take home -- I refused but was wonderfully surprised by their eagerness to please. Without question, will go again.

I live in the Springs, but one thing I have learned a long time ago is that you need a "heavy duty" drill with concrete drill bits here. "Normal" power drills are ineffective.

I had been looking for turkey slices since I returned two weeks ago from abroad. Today -- I found some at Safa Park Choithram's. Have a whole load of turkey and other American products in. I would think they will start showing up at all groceries fairly soon. Yeah. Has anyone seen Crisco premeasured bars. I can only find the tins.

The stationary shiops usually have a range of sticky Duco films. I have seen stained glass effect before and I think even frosted at one time. You may have to piece together as they come on rolls. I think ACE has a selection of Duco films as well.

I had been driving a Mohave for the past three months (not here in this country), and I have to say I was impressed. (Just returned last Saturday) It was a V8 (don't know if they all are) and the performance was great. I felt very comfortable from the first time I drove it and, actually, am missing it. It was roomy, comfortable, didn't feel huge, and handled quite well. I can't comment on its long-term performance, but I do know it is not a newer model -- probably a 2011 or 2010. I hope people can give you more information but I honestly had no complaints.

I was personally diagnosed with sleep apnea at the American Hospital. I first had a Restronic CPAP and now have a german brand "something" point (it has orange on the front). Anyway, my first time was taking a testing kit home which they showed me how to hook up to monitor my breathing, heartrate, snoring etc. I then took it back the next day and they fed info into machine which gave a readout of what my vitals are. It definately pointed out to apnea. I next had an in clinc evaluation where I spent the night in their lab after being wired up. Definately confirmed and showed severity of apnea. Was prescribed CPAP machine which has been a godsend. I agree with other writer who says the money has been worth it. My Restonic still works but the water "warmer" (for lack of better term) does not work so well and made my sinuses dry out badly. I then purchased the German model (from American Hospital) which is a bit cheaper, and I have no complaints. You might want to source one from your home country but you will most likely need a prescription. I have friend who did this and saved a bit of money. Once purchased, my biggest expense is now replacing the nasal cover as they tend to wear out and are a bit pricey too. They, too, can be purchased on line and a bit cheaper -- no prescription for just the nsal cover. I hope this helps. FYI, I was also a snorer and the CPAP has made it possible to not disturb husband anymore. The machines themselves are fairly quiet. Oh, before the apnea testing, I had the surgery done in the States where they cauterize the thingy in the back of your throat that hangs down. Don't waste your money. Did not help in slightest and was extremely painful.

It's interesting that you mentioned this, as my son has an allergy to penicillan (sp?) and has a reaction to Al Marai's mozarella. He can eat other brands of mozarella, but Al Marai's makes him swell up and flush like penicillian. Interesting.

Try the Co-Op upstairs at the Safa Park Branch. They have a fairly good selection of appliances there at reasonable prices. I have purchased from them before. I have a LaGermania gas top and electric oven. Only had it a couple of months but no problems so far and loving it. FYI, my does not have the electric hobs on top -- just 6 gas burners. Love it.

What a frustrating position to be put in. One thing I want to mention is that even though the house may only be in your husband's name, he will still need your signature to actually sell the house (at least this is true in America). Because you are married, you have dower rights to the property and you must release these rights thru signature for the deed to be a clean transfer.. I know this is not your point of conflict as yet, and I hope you find a way to resolve your issues.

I have a Le Germania, I bought it because I wanted an electric oven and as I have never cooked on gas liked the fact it had 4 gas rings and 2 electric. I still prefer electric and use the electric rings for slow simmering but the gas for everything else. I was told they make for high end brands but no idea if this is true. I think its fab. Have you used the oven for baking? Is it easy to operate? I ask because this ones manual says it has 9 baking options and sounds complicated as well as the confection options. Sorry for poor english but must be fast and can't find punctuation marks easy. Gas top I have no problem with, but I love to bake.

You can't go wrong with any of those models mentioned, i.e. Brother, Janome, or Singer. I have used all three and, for a basic model, it is all you need. Stay away from computerized as much as possible -- basic stitches, buttonholes, etc. Inexepensive models are really all you need if you just want to sew.

When you exit the terminal into the mall, you will make a right hand turn. You will be on the second floor. Go to the Debenam's intersection (for lack of better word), and take an escalator up to the third floor. Turn right off the escalator, and M&S is right there. Hope this helps, and I believe it is correct even though I have yet to ride the Metro.
