We have ours through simple landlords insurance I found them online, you do need different insurance if you are letting your house, I dont think the sort you have if you are living there will cover rentals, however its cheap enough!!

Hi Debbie, We were there about 3 weeks ago, its fab, we went to Koggala near Galle, my advise would be get a driver and car, th roads are all single track, the drivers we had handled the manic traffic very well, think we would have found it hard. Also aim for a flight that lands in the middle of the night that way the roads are quite to get to your hotel, we landed at 330 on Ethiad, and we got to our hotel bt 730am if we had landed daytime it would have taken us 5/6 hours to do the same journey. I found a local man who arranged our transfers from the airport, and our trips out he was cheaper than the hotel and provided good quality. At Yala our vehicle was so much better than everyone elses. We stayed at The Fortress it was $270 a night but we found a hotel 10 mins walk to the beach called the flower garden with rooms from $59, I looked at them and they were lovely rooms with interconnecting family suites and very high spec bathrooms, think they were $99, but the manager said deals are always possible. If you want help to arranging stuff our guide Chandula would be more than happy to help, he can advise on hotels, trips, transfers, we want to go back and do Kandy, even though he is based in Koggala he said he can arrange it all for us. The 182 day does apply but you need to include if you have been back to the UK during that time, you need to add the time on, Chris will advise you on all that. Good luck with it all.

In Tiffany tower in JLT think is 504, is a salon that does it, its sector w as you drive round JLT, they were offering first one free and then I think it was only 40 dirhams for 15mins. Cant remember name of the place though!

Just a note to say a huge thanks to EW for organising the Mustang event, myself and DH went and for 30 dirhams each it was a bargain! Great company, we did not know any other couples but it did not matter as everyone was soooo friendly, the nibbles were great, I now have the need, the need for speed!! Might give the karting track a go........

I am here, email me and then I can give you my number, we ended up in Liwa Heights in JLT, after an extensive search, 1 bed for 9000 but they are bigger than most! Discovery is cheap but the agents I called wanted commission on top! Liwa is a hotel so dont have that to pay, and all the advantages of hotel living is fab! Weekly clean and bed change, Gloria is 9000 a month also with better pool and gym , but smaller living space, depends what you need, Leiya and Frasier are lovely but more expensive Opal in Al Barsha were 8000 but too far from Abu Dhabi for us as that is where DH works. If you go to GP bit at med care hospital near safa park they will do blood tests, if you get there early 9ish there generally isnt a queue, just remember to fast from 8pm the night before for an accurate result, Doc then rings you with result ususally next day. On our medical insurance its 50 dirham to see the doctor and then all blood tests are free. Good luck with it, myself and DH both under there and very happy with the service.

We have got the your shape game and the free one Sharaf at Ibn Battutta china court end has games, but not that many out yet, I looked on UK Amazon too and not ,any anywhere, but am sure they will be available soon. I am loving your shape.

if you subscribe to the national for 300 you get choice of book free, we got the family book so we saved 50 dirhams and we get the paper for a whole year, me thinks a bit of a good deal, yes stuff is missing but plenty of new places to try and waterparks are still there so still worth it.

Slimming World all the way, I worked for them for 4 years before I came her, its so easy to follow and very family friendly and you can get the magazine here too, look at the website slimmingworld.com, also look up on U tube slimming world there are quite a few success stories on there including a man who lost 25 stone and is now running marathons!! Good luck with whatever you chose, remember every diet works if you stick to it, we are in charge of what we chose to put in our mouths, Dubai is stuffed with temptation, also a bit of body magic goes along way too! Slimming worlders know that is SW refernce to the E word. Heres to a lighter new year for us all!!

We are in Liwa Heights in JLT, good sized apartments, 1 or 2 bed, 1 bed is 9 to 10 k 2 bed is 12 k, the lettings manager is Jijesh and they are very helpful here, its a hotel so you get all the hotel benefits. I viewed loads and for price and size they are the best, depends what you need, its less than 10mins to the metro. Worth a call, if you do do make sure you talk to Jijesh directly to get the best deal.
