Yes, I am happy with how I dealt with it all. And you are right, I did ask for advice and got so much to help me, and hopefully her, for another time. Thank you everyone.

Wise words. AmyAus. TDB. She lives 30 steps away from the pool. Wasn't out of her mind drunk. And as I said in my opening post I cannot be sure she was drunk. I didn't do more as I didn't want to embarrass her. And as you have done, I have too.

She was in absolutely no danger getting home at all. I certainly hope I don't come across as uncaring.

Thank you everyone for your enlightening and thoughtful comments. When I think about it the litre 'flask' is always there, even at 8am. Sips constantly, whereas we all tend to gulp water in the heat. She tried to leave the pool in her bikini only, leaving her shoes, bag etc. Hmmm, think this has been going on a while. And she really isn't ready to face 'her' problems. She blamed her DH for everything. Poor lady, what a state to be in.

Was at coffee with a few ladies and EW came up. A few said they used to post but at various times they had been unable to log back on after the summer etc and couldn't be bothered pursuing. Pity really.

Various schools are nearby. Ajman Academy, Sharjah English School, Gems school at RAK, Repton and some go to Mirdiff schools. Buses here for some schools, others lift share etc. homeschoolers too.

We live part time in the Emaar villas in UAQ. Beautiful villas, and as you say, good prices. 30 minutes to MCC, 40 to DM. 20 mins to Al Hamra and the mall, golf club, hotels. marine club 5 mins away. Big plans for UAQ to have seafront mall, hotels, restaurants starting 2014. Yes, it'll take time but civilisation is on the way! Folks here are lovely, a great community and a mix of ages but mainly parents with young children or empty nesters. Having said that there seem to be some older children around lately and moving vans on a regular basis. The FB site doesn't get much too much traffic but there is a Mistral Classifieds on FB, plus a walking group. Plans for a tennis group too. All in all a nice place to call home.

It's new, which is why you probably haven't seen it. It's upstairs, near to Furla and Country Chic. Go in Debenhams side. Great not having to go to DM.
