Max - I actually lost 2.5kg since the diet and I think I feel better now. I used to catch my breath going up and down the stairs at home but now I'm feeling good. I cut down all the junk food which I used to eat on daily basis and use pregnancy as an excuse. LOL. Now I eat more fruits and veggies, never felt healthier in my entire pregnancy. Yesss! LO is moving nonstop more than ever!!! 3 days ago I had this really bad pain right under my ribs from of all his moving around. His kicks are stronger as well. My little Messi, I call him. Hahaha. DH is not very happy with the nickname though. :D So Max, I'm just wondering.. Did you get a changing table? I'm almost done shopping as well. Just the table left. Which pram did you get? I bought red Quinny Buzz 3 with matching red maxicosi pebble carseat and isofix base.

Max - Yes my doc said I'm doing great. Like I said I'm only borderline GD. Since I started the diet, my sugar went back to normal. Yay. But I have to continue the diet so my weight will be controlled esp now 3rd trimester. Omg exciting times. How are you and your blood sugar? I hope you're doing well too. xx

Any idea when the next Babyshop sale is going to start? I forgot to buy something from the sale and I told myself I'll buy it in the next one.

Dr. Amal Badi. She's at Medical International Specialist Center in Al Wasl Road, near Emirates Bank. She delivers in City and American Hospital.

Max - The first few times I was "excited" to check my blood sugar to know where I stand. Then when I ran out of new space to poke a hole into, I started dreading it. My blood sugar is all over the place, sometimes it's all the way down, sometimes it's normal. I guess that means my diet is working right? Going to see my dr tomorrow, I hope she thinks I'm doing well. I lost 2lbs already from all this dieting. Yesterday I was daydreaming that after delivery, I will ask for a burger with large fries and a cheesecake! Lol that made me feel sooo much better. Hahaha. I got a cot, mattress and moses basket the other day. Still looking for a changing table though. Have you ladies seen any good sturdy ones? The babyshop changing tables look awful. No way I'm putting them in my nursery. :p Alenka - I will be delivering in City Hospital. How about you where are you planning to deliver here? Have you decided on which dr to see?

Hiccup - I like the Uppababy Vista too, but sadly it's not available anywhere in Dubai and I won't be travelling anytime soon. So I guess I'll just go with whatever is available here. Quinny or Bugaboo maybe. Funny thing is, I was sooo excited to buy baby stuff even from the 12th week but here I am still confused on what to buy. Lol. Alenka - Hi there. Welcome to the thread. How's everything? Hmm.. I've actually gained 6-7kgs since the beginning of my pregnancy. Mostly on the 2nd trimester! Now I just started 3rd trimester and on a strict diet. I think LO is starving :( but he's always moving around so I guess he's happy, right? Have you ladies seen the movie, What to expect when you're expecting? It's a good one. :)

Philly - The nurse told me it will be ready the next day, but I actually got the results after 3 days. The wait was unbearable, because I had the random glucose test first which came back abnormal, so I had to do the GTT. Max - Ahh thank you very much for the encouraging words dear. xxx I still didn't get that blood sugar monitor thing but I'm sure I will after I see my dr on Monday. Is it just me or are you also feeling the baby moving all the time? Like in the daytime, he's busy kicking.. In the middle of the night, I wake up because of all the kicks and punches!!! I feel like he's not sleeping anymore! I'm afraid he will be ADD or something like that because of gestational diabetes. I know it's silly but I'm just paranoid I guess. Aaaggghhh.

Hey how's everyone doing? Max - My GTT scan didn't go well. Found out I'm borderline diabetic, so I started diabetic diet too before it gets out of hand. It's really hard for me because I hate eating several times a day and I love my sweets especially with my coffee. But oh well, I've been on the diet for 3 days now and I feel like I'm doing well. I'm going to see my dr next week so hopefully positive results. Bunintheoven - Hey welcome back! How's everything? Yes my blood pressure is normal now, thanks for asking. It's my blood sugar now I'm worried about. I've been really busy/stressed these past few days I can't believe I just started 3rd trimester. Wooooohoooo. Congrats to all of us ladies. Just a few more months to go. (this is what I tell myself everytime I crave for chocolates or caramel macchiato) :D

Rasalala- Thank you very much for the offer, that's very sweet of you. I'm sure RAK Hospital is really good, but I'm already comfortable with City. Maybe in the future, I want to check out the spa. :) Sandydogg - Thanks dear, please let me know. I walk at night after work but I don't reach all the way to that area. Just around the villas, pool and sometimes the beach side (it's dark at night though). When and where do you do coffee mornings?

Sandy - Hey there! Are you from Mina Al Arab too? :D RibenaBaby - I heard good reviews about RAK Hospital. But I can't really vouch for it myself as I've never been there before. I'm currently pregnant and I go to Dubai for my antenatal check ups and hopefully deliver there too. :)

I'm from Mina Al Arab, RAK. Yes, most of the time malls are empty (even in the city). So if you're the type of person who prefers a quiet, laid back environment you will love it here. No need to wait for a long line when paying, empty parking space these are the few perks of living in RAK. But sometimes I must admit, I do miss the fast paced busy life in Dubai. So I drive to Dubai once a week to see my friends (which is just 1 hr away). HTH :)

Max - I confirmed with my OB that the rumor about City hospital increasing to almost 60% is not true. It's only 6%. So I'm not changing hospitals after all. Thank God. Although my checkup yesterday didn't go too well. I have a bit of scare with high blood pressure (139/95) so now I'll be monitored even closely. My OB said nothing to worry about for now, because I have no other signs of preeclampsia. My glucose test result will be out in 3 days so I'm praying it will be normal. Other than that, bubs is healthy and everything is as it should be. Inshallah everything will be ok.

Thank you very much for the info TDB. That's what my OB said yesterday too. She asked me where I heard the 60%. She said it's only 6% and she confirmed it with City Hospital.

Happy New Year to you too Max. I can totally relate to the 6th symptom you're having. I am ALWAYS hungry!!! It's driving me crazy that I have to eat something every 2 hours. :( Regarding your DH not feeling baby's movements, I think it has something to do with the position of your placenta and/or the baby's position too. But you can feel the baby kicking, right? I WAS planning to deliver in City hospital, but after the recent increase of almost 60% (my OB didn't confirm this yet, I will ask her on Monday) I'm thinking twice. She has her own private clinic but she only delivers in there. Sigh.

Oh this is actually for a friend of mine, Mich. She didn't get the one from that link because it was for 1k dhs, when you can buy it brand new in mumzworld for 899 (which she got instead). But anyway, you can send me photos maybe? And how much you're selling it for? Maybe I can buy it for myself this time. TIA xxx edited by pinkbutterfly on 05/01/2013

Bunintheoven - I'm torn between prams too. My friend got a Quinny Buzz 3 like 2 weeks ago and she loves it. But she herself admits it's too heavy and she doesn't think she will use it for a long time, maybe 6 months max. So what's the point of spending 2k on a pram that you will use for a short period of time? And she had to buy the bassinet too because it's not good for newborns. But out of all the prams I've seen, I love the way the Buzz 3 looks the most. It's just so modern, so me. If you have info on other pushchairs pls let me know, as I'm still looking for other options. I did buy some maternity clothes, mostly the sale from h&m maternity line. I don't need anything fancy because I'm not going to be preggers forever. So just some jeans and tops. I bought some baby stuff, mostly newborn, 0-3 months clothes that are just sooooo adorable I couldn't stop myself from buying them even if I'm only 24 weeks along and most people think it's too early to shop.

If you're looking for a good makeup brush set, I suggest that you visit MAC stores. They have the best brushes ever. If you want the average ones, like PP said you can find them in centrepoint. I think I've even seen them in carrefours. Good luck. :)

Hello to everyone again. Uzzizach - Great news that your GTT went well. I'm going for mine next visit. Wish me luck :) Maxmistry - Oohh I did buy some stuff. I just couldn't wait!!! Have you started shopping? We passed 5 months already. What a milestone :D I hope your indigestion gets better. I never had indigestion so far, thank God. Maybe because I'm always eating? Lol. Again, good luck on my GTT on January. :D Hiccup - It is amazing indeed. My little fella is most active around 1am, so DH is always waiting patiently and LO will always kick really hard. (future Man United player as DH said) :D Merry Christmas to all the April mommies. Take care and enjoy the holidays. xxx

Hey ladies. Anyone started shopping already? Babyshop is on sale til January. I keep coming back there EVERYDAY contemplating if I should buy now or later. Lol. My DH said it's still too early and I should wait til Feb or March. Please tell me he's wrong. :D I'm glad your 20wks scan went well, mine did too. Ohhh I saw LO's face!!! During the 4d scan he was yawning (or maybe just opening and closing his mouth). Really amazing experience. How's everyone doing?

Hi ladies, how's everyone doing? I went for my 16th week check up and found out I'm actually having a BOY! (Contrary to what my OB said about a girl), so I'm saying goodbye to my pink ideas, hello blue! :) How's it working for everyone else? I feel very normal now, got all my energy back, no more morning sickness, no more extra sensitive sense of smell (which is a curse if you live in UAE if u know what I mean lol). So yea, I'm just very excited. I want to start shopping for my future LO. :)

My husband and I got married in Dubai Courts, he's Muslim. We went to a government health center (Behind Union Coop Safa) for blood works. Then my Certificate of Singleness (Authenticated from my own country) which we had to get stamped in 2 other government agencies in here (Sorry I forgot which ones specifically). We brought our passports and one male witness and that's about it. HTH :)

Hi ladies. I've been reading the EW forum for quite some time now, getting tips and such. Now I've finally decided to join. :) I'm expecting my little angel on the 3rd week of April. Hubby and I are sooo excited. I had my ultrasound for 12wks, and OB thinks it's a girl. But she said it's not 100% accurate, so we have to wait til the next scan. I did the blood tests as well, everything is normal. Alhamdullilah. I'm praying that everything will be fine this time around as I had a m/c last year.
