Actually, they say a bit of dirt is good for the health. Too much cleanliness, particularly from antibacterial agents, is leading to the increase in allergies amongst children. And too much relaxing makes a woman fat, which causes diabetes and other serious diseases. edited by dolleymadison on 07/11/2013 Instead of relax MrsAdams, you could put your trainers on and go for a run - or if you can't leave the million children just bench press the, or get them to sit on your feet while you do sit ups off your sparkling floor.... First of all, you can now call me MrsMadison, but at this rate, I'll be[b'> MrsObama[/b'> by dinner, second of all, I'm in fact very busy. too busy for trotting around the street like a lost rabbit. Mr Clinton next? That would be awesome, Bill would make a killer first lady! What Hillary wants, Hillary gets.

Only TDB has Bridesmaid duties that ask for your best moves fending off Expat Dragon posters. She must ask that you slay a dragon or two as Matron in return.

I am such an odd one with this - I must be the only person who doesnt find Chanel No 5 as sophisticated as everyone else. It smells too heavy and 'dated' to me - similar in range to what was in vogue back in the 70's. I wonder if anyone else feels the same? Funnily enough I love Issey Miyake which isnt new but doesnt smell 'old' iykwim, and also Cool Water Davidoff or Aqua di Gio. They are fresh, water based scents, though, so not very evening wear for some, but still works for me. I do love Pleasures from your list, OP. Tell us what you went with! edited by Redrec Tangle on 06/11/2013

I book hotels a lot in my job (not a hooker) and I can use either my ID or passport. Not sure if it's different in AD but thought I'd mention I love the pointed clarification

Yes I think she eloped - sounds like a good plan B this time around too. Imagine doing it again at a ceremony you're having to include everyone who couldnt make it for the first time! lol

People come on here all the time asking how would others deal with issues in a marriage, in-laws, the boss, colleagues or, with their children - all very complex and individual things, dont see how this can be any different. Not everyone automatically knows exactly what to do all of the time.

Admin should be guest moderators on mumsnet for a day - we would seem tame cats by comparison! yes but mumsnet isn't based in the Middle East.... Some of the 'rules' have nothing to do with being in the ME, though. Wonder if admin is enjoying all the silence with a nice cup of tea. edited by Redrec Tangle on 06/11/2013

It IS boring now. Really wish admin would take on these comments as constructive feedback. No one wants cattiness and every thread to disintegrate into an all out fight, but there has to be a balance where posters find it interesting enough to want to come back. As it is, its just a Time Out style guide to Dubai for the new. Most posts are about some company disguised as a new poster snarkily flogging their product and thinking they have got away with it, ugh. I can spot one every time and its really annoying. Lets play spot SM. :)

TDB, not meant as a critique, but people wont remember what you said/did/wore. They will remember how you made them feel. Like you I am a little bit of a perfectionist, everything must be just so, and it can take its toll on you. Find your happy zone and STAY there by whatever means for the duration of the ceremony, you will thank yourself later for catching moments in time that will stay with you that otherwise would have been lost to the stress of trying to be organized.

Lots of old users that are still active, not banned, but no longer post. I wonder why. A whole lot more crazy characters have left Dubai. Its really become very quiet. This place used to be jumping. A new thread could find itself on the second page by mid-day. Shame.

I tried several places and enjoyed them all, but not the prices. Decided to bake them one day with DD1 and you know what it didnt turn out much different than the shop ones! What a rip off. Hummingbird charges Dhs. 20! In the words of Joey from Friends: Are these cupcakes famous?? Just bake them yourself, its all in your kitchen cupboard anyway.

Not new but Strange Days was so good, watch if you haven't already. Love love love Taken. Second Talented Mr Ripley. Also liked The Others and The Interpreter, both with Nicole Kidman. ETA Blood Diamond had me on the edge of my seat, and to a lesser extent but nonetheless enjoyable, The Constant Gardener. edited by Redrec Tangle on 29/10/2013

This is my fear. I feel she is too young to cope with a five-day, 6 hour weekly schedule, with swimming and PE, and she may not even be completely 100% potty trained even. Are children not supposed to be 6 years old in Grade 1/Year 1? So if I work backwards from there she will start a year early, and will be 5 y, 3 mo in Year 1. I am not sure about the 6 year-Year 1 scenario though, unless someone can confirm. I am stuck with the school as the older one is already enrolled and very happy there, as one of the oldest in class, I may add. If I stick to my guns do I stand a chance or lose the place altogether? : /

I stand by what I wrote. Too often we rush to give doctors a bad rap. We dont know the details of the case and no doctor would push for the birth of a low weight baby without reason. edited by Redrec Tangle on 11/10/2013

I use Indian basmati, in a pan of salted boiling water, same as pasta, and cook till its a little overdone, as my kids like to eat it more mushy and not just al dente. This way I can control how long I can cook it.

I have mixed feelings reading your account. please always trust your doctor! If God forbid something had happened in that one week you decided to wait I wonder if your complaint against Dr.H would be that she DIDNT force you to get baby out! However with the heavy bleeding post-partum, it seems due care was NOT taken by your doctor. We dont know the doctors' version of the events. From the start it seems you had a particular idea as to how your pregnancy/delivery should go and resisted against any developments to the contrary. Having been through a difficult birth experience that was far from ideal, I can understand how low you must be feeling, if I were you I would concentrate on your family and begin to heal and be happy. I am just glad your baby is safe, actually.
