i have those two heavy books in a spacial bag in the car (at all times) , and a business card holder/folder (200 pockets) with a few vouchers I take out of the book and most likely to use, and keep it in my bag during the (the specific) mall trip... :) edited by sababy on 10/04/2011 I like the idea of a business card holder thanks for the tip :) anytime ...love sharing :D

how about you don't all go (just you and your smallest one) leave the 'big' ones with dady.. it's only a couple days (i assume).. and take the due gift as expected of you (or buy a gold jewlery)... that should balance your expenses

you're welcome i had shared them with few friends lately so they were ready for my EW friends too ;o) I do check the deals daily (or midnight) before they even send me an email ... i'm way ahead..lol.. but i watch my spending... soo tempted everyday 'sigh' I've just said to dh that you could get addicted to these sites and snapping up deals:-) I'm tempted to get a couple of the gelish vouchers for 50dh at Patsi Collins. Having the Entertainer book I already find it hard to pay full price for a meal when we're out. I already wait for sales to buy most clothes/bed linen/furniture etc oh dear we could so easily be best frends... can never buy full price and i never leave the house without my entertainer family book, including all the printed site vouchers ... splash may be the only place i would dare buy from without a sale..lol.... call me a deal gobbler :D

Moosavings has an offer of one hour photoshoot for 217dh -I've bought it. First time I've ever bought one of these deals - very exciting!!! edited by A Rancher on 09/04/2011 you're welcome i had shared them with few friends lately so they were ready for my EW friends too ;o) I do check the deals daily (or midnight) before they even send me an email ... i'm way ahead..lol.. but i watch my spending... soo tempted everyday 'sigh'

well ladies I hope I never have an emergency and be forced to leave my car around your property God Forbid... and since the UAE is a sand pitch in all direction I look... I should take my car on my back wherever I go even if it's broken down.... next time on your way to somewhere and see someplace nice on the road... don't dare stop that car anywhere to take pics ;)

Hi there ladies, I wouldn't recommend her if i didn't have faith in her sister and the fact that she has 3 yrs experience, (and a family to feed) so not looking for trouble. anyways anyone can call her and that family for a reference to judge and decide before the first step is done. As you said there are pro and cons both routes and I prefer when someone is recommended, without an agency as 1- they charge the lady in the country a lot of money, and 2- they charge you a lot of money, 3- don't always offer any guarantees if things go really wrong; 4- bring someone THEY don't even know, with no experience!!!! Privatly, you'd only be paying her a ticket, and visa to come (1200+300)... two months later (time to get tested and understand each other) you can either pay the final fees (medical 400, visa 5000) or 2- transfer or cancel her visa and send her back home (1200)... really It's a simple choice for me may be others see it diferently. As for feeling guilty, I hope I never have to, as she will be calling the lady and checking references directly, making that choice herself not being forced by anyone to take her on. I really hope everyone's choice is the right one for their family's best

It's the other way round in our house. Daddy puts our LO to bed every night, brushing her teeth and reading her a story. In fact, although I spend all day looking after her, as soon as daddy comes through the door, poor old mummy is persona non grata...! At 2.5 she is already a real daddy's girl. made me smile CM...same here... I have 3, one of them is like that.. but when he does, dady goes to sleep before he makes them sleep lol...

Even the sandy patches may be private property. Just because the owner is not using it, doesn't mean you can. u got it wrong we are talking about public empty deserted not close to any private property, with sign of fence or beach or house around... just the side of the road... middle of nowhere kind of place...

indeed...that's the reason.. as someone wrote here once... if you don't have a receipt for it... it's illegal.... FREE is illegal, how dare I park in Dubai and go shop in Sahara centre ''Sharjah'' (although i didn't go shopping in sahara) I went back to sahara back area again to check .. and it seems they have a sign by the road for not parking there... but it looks like it's intended for the edge of the road... and ppl still parked where i was yesterday, as there was no sign on the fence :( MY BAD... i should not park at a 500m radius around a sign, next time!

i came from the back ...there was no official entrance... as for the law...i saw no sign anywhere..... I have parked on the sandy area of al nahda for ages (but not for few weeks) until they had some underground work going... no sign of the rules there... and there is no pavement :( but then again... for example, there is plenty of sandy parking next to NMC and behind it and it's always fully packed... no one fined them and surely no sign of "forbidden parking' has been raised there 0_o they have swallowed the whole residential area (with few small shops) with paid parking signs so ppl have to find alternatives (to AED2 an hour all day)...

sorry to point out something, may be it's cultural, .... you wonder what's their budget??? your grandparents??? shouldn't you be invinting them being your guests to at least one place? sorry again don't want to offend but they are close family .... just my point of view I suggest you either: 1-invite them there according to your budget around the fountain (carluccios, more, Urbano..), or 2- just take them to watch one show (while standing on burj side: best view) ... go have dinner somewhere inside the mall according to your budget then go back out and watch another one or two shows have tea around the fountain either standing or having tea... enjoy your time

sababy, a British passport does NOT get you Home Status! You have to have a[b'> CONNECTION to the UK [/b'>ie that you have lived there, will probably live there again - eg a home is a good indicator although not always necessary! There is "no way around it" but each Uni does have their own rules within the rules. Having your children in boarding school there for 3 years will not guarantee it. Buying a house there alone will not guarantee it. They stopped some of this to stop non UK people take advantage of it. Read this: http://www.ukcisa.org.uk/student/fees_student_support.php edited by spongemonkey on 18/03/2011 thank you will do the reading :)
