LOL I don't think three mornings interacting with a nanny in the same house as you constitutes "shoving him away to a new babysitter." I think it's a great alternative to a nursery. I know that you are a devoted parent and follow many principles of attachment/natural parenting, and God willing you will all do great when your second little one is here :). Thank you BFC. I would rather having with a nanny inside the house where I am present than shove DS off to a nursery. Wish more people would be less judgmental here. I live in Al Warqa, which is about 2 mins after Mirdif City Centre.. so pretty much the other end of the world! :) Any older mums who want to be hired? :)

Thanks for your lovely post Cornish Pixie. If u cant assume anything nice, kindly dont post. As a mother, i dont plan to push away my firstborn for another baby. If u have 2 kids, u of all people shud understad that. And I dunno about your kids, but mine enjoys stuff like arts and crafts, running in the parks, but i unfortunately dont have the physical capacity to do it now. Kindly note: Everyone isnt super mum like u!

*hugs* For starters stop tensing yourself. Enjoy intimacy and dont focus on creating a baby. When u start concentrating on doing it right thats when it takes longer. Getting pregnant is not that easy.. u have about 12 chances a year, so why stress? Also, its not necesarry that u ovulate when the doctors tell u. I got pregnant totally out of the normal cycle.. heck! i had 2 doctors claim that it is practically impossible for me to be prgnant and guess who was wrong! Ask your doctor about taking folic acid and evening primrose oil. Dony worry too much! U r doing good with taking care of yourself.. let nature take care of herself and u just relax!

I used the Boba carrier and i loved it! But its only suitable for kids who are atleast 7kgs. WIth your newborn, maybe u shud just out the carseat in the trolley. Atlast thats wat i used to do :) One of the things u shud keep in mind with a baby carrier is that if u have a boy dont get the ones that are like underwear.. u know wat i am saying? Basically the seat of the carrier should be wide, else its too much pressure on the baby boy's privates. I hope u understand what i am saying.

The eye-liner tip that changed my life... Buy a small fine (stiff) eyeliner brush which is slighly slanted and use it to line your eyes with Mac black eyeshadow. Seriously I tried almost every eyeliner out there trying to find one which would last all day/night. After seeing my friends eyeliner not budging all night (and even still on in the morning when it was a really late one) this is how she told me she did it - and I've never looked back. I even find its easier to apply, takes seconds and you can build up as much or as little as you want. Best of all you don't then need to buy different eyeliner colours ever again as you can just use your variety of eyeshadow colours and line with any of them! It gives the same effect as kohl too. This works well for white/fair skinned people. But someone like me who has darker indian skin, it doesnt show up. Need to use darker paint type products for anything to show up :) Oh and Kacey, Mikyajy has a eyeliner brush which is even easier to use than te slanted brush. Check it out. :) edited by shaf on 09/01/2011

I usualyl dont get out of the house without eyeliner..use it pretty much everyday, all weathers.. have tried many many of them.. I line the upper lides, below the eyes and the waterline. :D So this is my very experienced two bits: 1 - Prestige waterproof eyeliner in Carbon Black - Cheapest and the best till date - Stays on my eyes all day! Altho i have to reapply on the waterline every 5-7hrs. This is my fav fav fav by far! 2 - Loreal Contour Resist - 3 times the price of Prestige, but the same thing. 3 - Colorstay revlon - Some people like it, but i find it dries my eyes terribly. Honestly i hate it. MAC - TechnaKohl - Exorbitant! But does the job.. 4 - MAC Fluidline - Ok this isnt a pencil, its a pot of paint and u need a brush. U can also do the waterline altho they say u shudnt. Its excellent when u have atleast 10mins to apply it properly and stays longer than prestige also! :) And cheaper than Technakohl if i am not mistaken. And the color is very intense and doesnt budge. Weird info: I am gonna be in labor next month with my second baby, and i am hoping i will have fluidline on before my labor begins.. now that will be the ultimate test of all!!! :D Maybe i shud have one eye with prestige and one eye with fluidline... hmmm!!! Sorry ladies, pregnancy hormones!! :D HTH! :)

Some Advice Please: I did BLW and it is all great. But now at 12 mths she wants to do it herself with the utensils, which I want to encourage, but, I can only cook food she can get on a fork otherwise it ends up on the floor if she uses a spoon. And, how do your LO's eat cereal. So, my question is how to go from BLW with fingers to using utensils and at what age. Give her the spoon.. how else will she learn? My DS starts with a spoon, he tries and tries and then just sticks his hands into the cereal! :) But he is better now and can scoop a bit but still doesnt know how to put the whole lot into his mouth. So yep, its messy!

U shud call the Al Ameen services. They are very very nice and speak english! And they respond very fast. You can make them listen to all the noise. Apart from the child abuse, u can just tell them u r losing sleep because of the constant uproar. Atleast maybe then the parents will limit their fights to when the child is in school. And i personally would suggesnt that you do not get involved. Assuming that you are an expat, this isnt your home country where you would get support because u did the right thing. Instead you can fall into trouble for interfering in others "family matters". Poor kid! My heart goes out to her.

Welcome to motherhood :) I make DS sit next to the sink while i brush my teeth and he has his own toothbrush and paste. If u are cooking, just let him sit on the kitchen floor with a few pots pans and spoons. DS and i shower together sometimes, he is 19months. Or I get him to shower with DH. A lot easier for me. A little bit of falling is alright u know.. as long as he doesnt hit his head on the corners and stuff. He prolly doesnt want to sleep which is why he is taking so long to sleep?? Gobbling food.. DH and i went on a date a couple of months back. I finished dinner and desert in 20mins and was so fidgety! I simply have forgotten how it is to eat slowly and in peace! Dont worry.. try to enjoy him.. nothing will happen if u dont eat the perfectly made meal.. or if the bed isnt made for a few days.. or if u havent brushed ur teeth (use listerine instead, or chew strong mint gum!) I hope it helps!

Thank you ladies - all of your posts are making me feel much much better. I thought that I would have to start including her for all 3 meals a day, which would literally mean that she would be either eating of BFing all day with the amount of time it takes. It makes a lot more sense to offer one meal for a while and then add to that when her nap times start reducing giving us more time in the day to do things. Shaf - your little one must be very good if he doesn't make a mess with broccoli - I found that to be the most messy veggie of all!! Give her pasta with red sauce, then u will love your brocolli!

U can get the Canon 500D and even better the Canon 550D. i think 500D is the cheapest canon dslr in the canon range. Affordable.. well i highly doubt if u will get a decent dslr below 3.5k. Good luck!

My DS dint east 3 meals a day till after 12 months. I would give him fruits, veggies and stuff through the day. Please dont stress yourself Nashila. U dont have to start on the dot at 10 on 5th Jan. A few days/weeks here and there wont harm her! When you go out, dont give the baby pasta. Just order or bring from home steamed veggies. Brocolli, carrots, cucumber, baby corn, these foods arent messy and perfect for outdoors. Even rice biscuit thingies, breadsticks, etc. My son likes to eat pasta with the sauce (like we do) when we go out italian, so i know what mess means, but i dont think it will be that bad till your child actually figures out what food is. Its only when they actually figure that its fun to throw food around, the real mess starts. But yes, always best to have bibs, 1 extra set of clothes and wetwipes ready. And for the mess on the floor, i just bought a cheap plastic sheet and put it below his high chair. Easier to clean. Nutrition-wise, dont stress. Just try to give different colored foods. Honestly, i think thanks to BLW we've ended up eating all colors of fruits and veggies which is a health benefit.

I am a BLW mother and i highly recommend it. :) My DS is now 19months old and prefers to eat himself. It is messy, but not as bad as it was before. He knows what he wants and asks for it and eats with without any fuss. I dont have to stuff him or coax him or anything. If he doesnt like something he tells me. If he likes something, he asks for more. I started offerin him fresh veggies cut into long peices inititally at about 6months. Actually, the first thing i gave him was a rice biscuit. Of course, u have to make sure ur baby is upright at all times especially if she is unable to sit up by herself. Yes, there were times my DS had the gag reflux, but if u keep a vigilant eye, u will undersand that the baby isnt really choking but actually figuring out how big a peice he should bite off. Of course, if the child is actually choking then act fast. Till about 12monhts, food was just a game for him.. a toy that mummy left him put in his mouth. It was only after 12months that he actively started eating. And i stopped breastfeeding aounf 14-15months. Sometimes when we r out, i do feed him, but usually he prefers to eat himself. And apart from shellfish, he right now eats pretty much everything we eat. HTH!

See if u can sort them out according to date. Then just drag and sort into folders u want. I usually have them sorted year>month> occasions each month. I should open a 2011 folder! :) If u use a mac, u should have a program called iphoto which sorts according to the dates for u. Not sure of the other computers, but pretty much most should have some sort of program to store photos.
