urgh i so agree! i have a fifteen month old, and i don't drive so i'm on the metro a lot, me, the kid, and the pram. people are so inconsiderate! they'll push and shove me out of the way just to get in or out, they'll run to the lift to get in when they are perfectly capable of walking the ten steps to the escalators! that really p***es the cr@p out of me! the sad thing is though, i used to be such a nice person about these things, it wouldn't matter to me if someone cut infront of me or if someone wanted to go before me, but here it just seems like the whole world is in a mad race, and EVERYONE'S out to get you (or infront of you rather). i've stooped down to their level though, i push and shove on the metro, and i push and shove for the lift. i think i deserve the break! aaand it doesnt help that i'm short. like 4'11 . so i'm often looked over at a counter queue. which just pushes my bp over the limit! i mean seriously people, have a little consideration!

fairwater i so agree with you! there's never anything in the shops for short people, and it's soooooooooo frustrating! i love shopping but i just get so frustrated and depressed here that nothing fits me right .. the shoulders will be off, or the waist fit will come on my hips, urgghhh! i've given up now! :(

Al Makan is reasonably priced, the food's ok. Times of Arabia is over-priced and the food is below average. I think the Irani/Persian one is Anar (?) <em>edited by ashesf on 27/01/2011</em>

the @ home stores and lafayette has them too, and theres a shop in wafi upstairs that has them too (can't remember the name), but don't know if they're on sale these days. you should check out all the shops, because they all have different prices, some have lower rates without sale.

yeah, my guests were over a couple months ago, and we took their (couple and a baby) picture at festival city, near the flower stand on the first floor near ikea. thirty seconds later, two plain-clothed men come up to us and tell us to show them the camera. why? because "we were taking pictures of the atm machines in the back"! i mean, wtf?! and they were so serious, walkie talkies and all, "we're calling security". so we said go ahead, you're not getting the camera, and we'll take you to court for your stupidity. we walked on. i mean jeeez!
