... is something going on between you and my husband? Tell her no. Then ask why she thinks there could be something going on. Hopefully she will be honest with you. It does not have to be the end of a relationship. I sure dont feel it is insulting as this close friend obviously has a worry. Treat it as such and find out what the problem is before you try and second guess :)

I hate the idea but am in a dilemma about my 16 year old's upcoming party. I would really like to get the guest list and call every parent to ask their opinion and limit 2 drinks (only beer and breezes) for those who are allowed... This is like a fast track service to jail. Ahlan wa Sahlan. Bur Dubai Hilton awaits you. NO! what the heck is wrong with parents???? ÿou say: You hate the idea but am in a dilemma about my 16 year olds upcoming party??? what dilema??? to let your daughter be popular or be a well liked parent??? what dilema?? You hate the idea because you know it is wrong. So....what to do, what to do??????????????????????????

No. No. No. 'not at my house'...no service underage kids alcohol. I dont care if you are not popular. I dont care if your kids think you dont trust them. No.!!!! You are in charge of your children and they have lessons to learn. Parents are parents first..not their childrens friends...they are parents...there to guide them to be responsible adults not to break the law. No. Parents say "if I serve my kids at home then I know where they are and what they are doing" ..NO!!!! you do not. and shame on the parent who has drinking parties for teens!!! Teach your children well, do not let your kids go to drinking parties. Mine did it...a few kids ended up in emerg from alcohol poisoning...I didnt know about the parties nor the parents who were so irresponsible to do this!!! NO!!!! you are not in a popularity contest...no to alcohol parties in your home. If you choose to give your own child wine or a beer now and then that is up to you but to hold parties where booze is available. NO!!!!

my thought would be: . 1. he is a boy dog 2. he lifts his leg to pee on objects that are vertical. 3. highly doubt you can get him to only mark on the grass and not in specific places, without causing him trauma...you will have to be there all the time to make sure he does not do that :) just hose things down everyday, but not the dog lol

You can get Vagi-fem here. It is a tiny pill insert vginally. It works slower than the cream but it does work. I went to a gyn at American hospital. You could ask around the pharmacies to see if they carry it outside the American. The other thing you can do is go to the website www.power-surge.com. They have a form (very detailed) for you to fill out with all your info. They have a Dr. with the Pharmacy who reviews it and asks questions if necessary. I believe they also ask you to take certain tests here. They can then send you what you need. They do send to the UAE. I am on both Progesterone(OMG I have not slept like this in so many years!!! :))creme and vag cream....I got this in Canada when home though from a bio identical pharmacy. There is a bio pharmacy here but I think they also have trouble getting the cream and only offer the pill which is really not recommended(by pill I meant the one by mouth, not vag :). So, good luck. <em>edited by SueB on 10/11/2012</em>

hair coming out in 'handfuls' is usually when you are on chemotherapy for cancer. Dropping 10 or 20 hairs in the sink when you wash your hair is another thing altogether. I have been here for nearly 10 years and have yet to have hair coming out by the handful nor had a problem with my skin due to the water...and I am not the only one this has not had this problem. the questions I would ask..are: 1. have you had your hormones checked? 2. It s normal to have handfuls coming out just after a child isborn....I have a few friends freak out about this and the hair grew back. 3. What is your age? 4. Have you talked to your Dr. about this and has he/she recommended more testing? anyway....you must head out to a professional to find out what the problem is....no one here is actually qualified to give you advice other than their own experience but not grounded in science nor medicine :) so....your hair is coming out in handfuls? I would be kind of upset about that...and head to a proper Dr. to find out what is going on :)

here is a wild suggestion. Why not do a once a week cooking class together :)....he will learn a few things and so might you :)...and....you get to do it together and have someone else teach him how to keep a clean kitchen :).....anyway, certainly worth a try once you actually find a class that suits :) DB I just read your reply on cooking schools lol...so..no need for you to take him to classes, he will have to be sent by himself. Maybe the nights he cooks you go out and eat or get him his own cookware ????? anyway a gift of classes could be the thing for him :) <em>edited by SueB on 03/11/2012</em>

when my son lost his last soother he knew it was the end. He asked for it, I said he lost it, he said bye bye and that was it. Sound like your daughter is stressed about something or having a bad day, over tired, over stimulated, anything :)....she used the soother to sooth herself now she does not know what to do. Help her over this by distracting her, have her hold her blanket etc. She will figure it out :)

tough one Amanda :(. A friend did this and it works for kitties and burglers :). A long piece of wood and a box of nails (wood the same width as wall. Put nails in wood and turn wood so nails stand up...attach wood to wall. If the kitty get on it, it will only be once and they are pretty quick to bounce off. Hopefully, your old cat stays in the yard. Another thing you can do is make a safe enclosure for your old cat so the white bully cant cat at him :).....other than that, talk to the owners..but highly unlikely that will work. So, it might work at the garden shed area...... I have a 19 year old and I would be pretty ****** as well.

Sandy123, if you think you have Bleph, pop into your Dr to have it checked. I get it now and then because of rosacea. I wash with Cetaphil and make sure I clean the base of the lashes well. It could be possible that with the extensions the base of the lashes did not get cleaned as well? anyway, have your Dr. check it if it gets worse. Just a thought :)

your cats will probably accept her, eventually :)..she is young enough that they might,,,, or not :). just do not leave them alone until you are sure the baby can curl up with them safely. The bathroom is a good idea because all her things will be in a small room . A small room makes for safety...a large room is scary :), that is why the covered cat box in a small room is good. She will be upset andlonely so go in and out alot. Change her blanket in a few days and put it with the old cats so they can smell it. Put the kitten in her cat box and bring her into the room with the old cats, let them smell her and know she is there. It all depends if the old cats are related and are always together..if so, then let them into her room one by one to check it out but always be there. They will eventually accept her and usually, because of her age, sooner than later.....having said that, I could be wrong lol...so. do not leave them alone, the baby will most likely want to go to them and dont worry about hissising and posturing with the other cats, that is normal....you just dont want them to fight with the baby. There are quite a few website on introducing a new kitten to a house of kitties :)..do a google and some reading :) Having said all that. Tomorrow your baby might just march up to your cats, tell them she is there, give them a few meows and they take her under their wings lol....who knows with animals...good luck :)

I was worried about this too until my friend who is a biologist mentioned that, there is an average of 40,000 types of bacteria on a public toilet, which is about the same as the average piece of cutlery you use in a restaurant as they are generally disinfected at least once a day. However there are over 300,000 types on the average work or school desk, which are rarely wiped down. He told me to teach my son to wash his hands well regularly and not to stress too much about germs. The places you'd never think to clean are usually way worse that the ones you have nightmares about your toddler touching. and the toys they play with at school and at friends homes...and the handle on the bathroom door and the dirt on the floor...and on and on and on....wash the childs hands...there is an extremly small risk of picking anything up from a public toilet.... honestly, the child becomes immune to dirt if exposed to it, but will get sick if he lives in a pristine environment.....ask yourself which you would rather hav e, a child that can deal with the world, or one who lives in a clean bubble and is always picking up the next bug to go around. <em>edited by SueB on 27/10/2012</em>

you are doing fine. If she is able to eat the kitten food then good for her :)....she will stop eating when she is no longer hungary. make sure there is fresh water for her and know she will make a big mess with her food lol. Her poop might be runny for a day or so after being wormed. Just make sure she has water. A hot water bottle in her cat box is a good idea if you have one or the hot bags you nuke. Put it in her box with soft towels. Cover her box so she feels safe. It might be hard tonight for her but she will be fine. Make sure her litter is close and the food is away from the litter box. Also, put her in a bathroom so she can make a big mess and feels safe for now... I usually leave a small amount of baby formula in a dish for through the night and some wet food...which she might walk in :) or..you can get up in the night to feed her but if she is 4 weeks she might make it through :)....good luck and enjoy your new bundle :)

seem like you are doing everything right to ensure a wonderful relationship. Keep doing what you are doing and in a day or so, just open the door a bit to see if the kitten will venture out. I bet the old cat will run away lol. Have the tuna on either side of cat box closure so they are eating close together. Keep us updated :) I highly doubt the kitten will attack the big cat lol...but....

Not saying the hotel was right, but how do we know the woman who was 'snubbed' isn't only telling her side of the story- I've seen complaint letters come in about some of my colleagues who were only very polite and lovely to passengers, only to have the passengers say horrible things about them when in fact the only one being rude and name calling were the passenger themselves.... sometimes people only present their best side, especially to the media. How do we know the bride to be wasn't a 'Bridezilla' and totally p!ssed off the wedding planner who only had her word and didn't say what the real issue was? Wouldn't be the first time a story of 'bad service' has turned out to be the receiver of 'bad service' was actually the source of negativity in the first place? maybe by 'this type of people' the planner was referring to behaviour...? I guess the issue is not, was the couple polite etc, the issue is that the planner did not want them at their hotel and sent a letter to the higher up trying to get out of it. Then, the letter accidently went to the couple. people would normally not find out about discrimination, in this case they did, which was unfortunate for the hotel. If they had been a black, yellow, pink etc and the planner said the same thing, you can bet, all h ll would be breaking out on here. Discrimination is discrimination. Just presenting another possibility here..... ;)

when we had a live in gal, about once a month she would have the 'girls' over for dinner. Usually they ate late, watched TV and laughed alot, talked way into the night. They slept over. Got up in the morning and had a leisurly breakfast together. They enjoyed each others company had alot of laughs and were able to just spend time together. They worked hard 5.5 days a week. I did not have a problem with it. They did not come into the house and she had her separate entrance. I would ask that those who asked 'why do they want to stay the night" and find it weird that grown woman want to have 'sleepovers' what exactly do you think they are doing???? lol

where does it say she was a hooker? so what if he not our cup of tea in the looks dept, she just might love him :)./.I have seen alot of dogs here in Dubai that were better looking than some of the men here. I somehow don't think she and the fiance went into the hotel in their work clothes, so what was it about them that the planner didn't like??? maybe said planner had nose in air along with poker stuck up her.....or the car they drove was not smart enough or her clothes were not designer........ It really does not matter a hoot what we think anyway. It was discrimination and I hope they sue and win. Nice to see someone get caught doing it.

you are doing a perfect job!!!!! the cat box in the room with the resident cat is a good idea. There will be hissing, expect that and if the kitten is doing it, she will soon get over it and probably want to be around the older cat....if your cat is not reacting that is great. You can leave the door open in a day or so to the cat box and see what the little one does....just dont leave them alone together until you are sure they are fine. You might also check around the rooms that there is not a tiny hiding place the kitten can run to so you can't get him :)...good luck, seems like you have it in hand :) <em>edited by SueB on 23/10/2012</em>

There seems to be many ways of selling goods these days and that's why it is son confusing as to what is right and legal! I know of a lady, who has a FB Page and sells the most gorgeous baby clothing & accessories, toys and maternity wear! She does not have a website, not a shop and uses Amarex to get your goods to you! All you do is send her a MSG on FB with the items you would like to order! She has a huge selection and her stock must equal a pretty penny! What licence would she need for this? How does she get her goods in if she does not have a valid trade licence? I feel like I'm going around in circles, and even though everyone says unless you have an LLC or Freezone licence it is illegal!? It is possible that her actual products are not in the UAE at all and she ships them with ARMX from somewhere else.

loved this quote: 'Teresa, a stay-at-home grandmother and active cat rescuer, is worried what could happen to her tabby in case of illness. “Chrissy is quite old now and I shudder to think what I would do were she to need emergency medical help. Everyone I’ve spoken to lives in the same constant fear.”' Lives in constant fear, this feels straight out of the Daily Mash. I'm sure they may be a serious issue but I really don't think everyone is living in constant fear! Tell me that can't be a real quote. Constant fear is what those poor folks in neighboring countries are dealing with. Virtual slap to that one. That seems to be how that lady feels...it is her reality and has nothing to do with other people and what is happening in their lives. If she is afraid for her old cat so be it, nothing to ridicule here just because is seems silly to others.

just a note here when us old people with the fountain pens learned to write it was pretty exciting. We were the little kids with fat pencils learning to print big letters, finally got that so it was somewhat readable then...we moved up a grade or 2 and WOW...we were going to learn to write with a pen!!! We were big kids and so proud of the fact. It was celebrated at home as well lol...big girls with the PENS and we were learning to write like the big kids and not print anymore like the babies :).....I can usually tell the age of a person by their writing. A very old person, ie my grandmother and mother had beautiful writing, grandmother more so with curlie q's, lovely flow. Alot of the writing I see from a young person is small and cramped because they have not been taught the proper way to write so it becomes a chore for them. Anyway, my 3 cents.

By the time this new generation take exams everything will be by keyboard anyway, so for a leftie as long as what they write is readable I can't see it matters much whether cursive or not. there is printing and there is writing. It is all penmanship. Yes it has to be readable and that is why people learn to form letters properly whether they print or write. I can just see the next generation signing forms with a X like they did before people could write lol

there are a few stores around. The Town Center has a good store, someone on here will tell you the name :)..they carry wide shoes, shoes that take othotics, birkenstocks (dont recommend for bunions though) she needs to do away with the flip flops though and get a sandle that has a strap around the heel so her feet can relax. If she can wear those most of the time and only wear dress shoes when necessary she should be alright for a short time, but...she needs the op, her feet will only get worse :( She could have one foot done at a time so it is not so expensive and she will have at least one working foot and a good excuse not to wear heels :)...off work for about 2 weeks or less if she follows directions. She can also go to a podiatrist to see if orthotics will help in the interim. Her heels should be wedge heels with a wide round toe box for the most comfort and low but not flat if she must wear heels. It is not a guarantee that she will be able to wear high heels after surgery but certainly low heels and no flip flops!! at all when in recovery. Sounds like she must have the op or she will be in agony for the rest of her life...not good. I strongly recommend she have it done if she can only wear slippers...have the worst one done first....what Dr. is she using?

Trying the feeding with a door between thing...even with a tuna enticement, First Cat won't go near the door when she hears New Cat meow from behind it. I will keep trying, but also start shopping him around... then move the dish further away from the door :)....to a spot where the cat will eat. everyday move it a bit closer. It takes patience and wont happen over night...expect this to go on for 3 or 4 days....feed the tuna before breakfast so there is hunger there.

Hendy, is your cats behaviour the same as before the operation or just since the operation? ie, he still bit and scratched before?
