Yes it does!! She's taller, thin, long, curly hair that she had pulled back and was wearing black frame glasses.

I've been on the lookout for it since I'm ready to start making my pie crusts ahead of time for the holidays. I also got Crisco at Safestway a week ago so I know they have it too. Lulus had it in the oil section but wasn't Crisco brand but still shortening.

We bought both of our's in the states from Amazon. If you know of someone coming over they can bring it on the plane. That's how we brought both of ours at separate times. We left them in the Britax box and checked them. Delta didn't charge us b/c they were carseats. Also do you have an Aramex account? The shipping on Amazon is free for the carseats so they could ship it to your New York Aramex account and then you'd only have to pay shipping here. Amazon UK might sell them and you could get it shipped to your UK Aramex account and then sent here.

Spinney's on MC has Crisco shortening. I just saw it yesterday. It's in the baking aisle to the left if the flour by the cake mixes.

I don't know much about the two seats you've listed since I'm only familiar with US seats but I can say that we went through this last year with our son that had just turned 4. I wasn't ready to let him out of the 5 point harness (I'm guessing that's what an isofix is) so I went with the Britax Frontier 85. It has the latch system to hook it tightly to our car and then he uses the 5 point harness right now which he can buckle and unbuckle himself which is helpful b/c I also have a 2 year old and a 2 month old to get buckled. The Britax Frontier 85 is a high back chair and when I'm ready he can begin to use the seat belt and no longer use the 5 point harness. Right now he doesn't mind the 5 point so I feel like I'll use it as long as he wants. When he gets large enough, the back comes off the Britax and it becomes a booster that he can use a seat belt until 120 lbs. Do either of those sound like what I'm talking about? At your daughter's age, I wouldn't be comfortable with just a seat belt. My 2 (turning 3 next week) still falls asleep regularly in the car and I'm too afraid he would be hunched over asleep and not fully protected by just a seat belt. In UAE traffic I want them strapped in safe enough for a moon launch. KWIM?

We came over here with the intent to save money and leave after 2-3 years. When we first came over we were 2/3 the way through an international adoption and we were able to pay cash for that adoption. A year and a half later we paid cash for our second international adoption and then this summer we went home to the states for the annual summer exodus and were asked by our old adoption agency in the states if we'd consider a newborn girl in their care that they didn't have a family for and 16 days later we had a newborn daughter. So three adoptions and 437,000 dhs in adoption fees later, we have the family we always dreamed of but my body couldn't give us. We still managed to put money in the bank but not as fast as we thought we would. But 7 years of praying for a family went unanswered but then we were given this job that could easily afford to pay for all the adoptions and I still think we came out ahead. :)

[i'>Do you think that the speaker could be saying something wrong because you can't understand him/her? I thought each person had their own version of speaking in tongues?? I didn't know translators exist. When you say it is not scriptual, do you mean it is NOT in the bible? I am trying to understand is it the actual speaking of tongues that is wrong, or the speaking of tongues in front of an audience when you are a leader that is wrong? [/i'> Exactly, a church leader speaking in tongues is very wrong because it would be so open to abuse. The bible says a translator must be available and who has one? No one! If people believe they have the gift of speaking in tongues I believe it is for personal and prayer use only. edited by KKS on 04/10/2011 Thanks KKS - my Mum speaks in tongues and keeps it very private, in prayer as you say, She was visiting a church one day and the leader said something in tongues and my mother was quite surprised and mentioned something about needing a translator. We never managed to finish that conversation and I always wondered how one would have a translator since it such an individual thing? AnonDubai - I am probably not the best person to describe speaking in tongues, maybe KS can do better, but it is a gift given by God to you, presumably when your faith is so deep, and this is a private language between you and God - hence why it is normally used in prayer. I 'believe' it's a language that Satan cannot understand?? Each person has their own version - I heard my Mum once and it was really weird - like pop diddly dop.... it just happened to her one day and has never stopped. It's like she almost doesn't have much control over it. My mother has a very, very deep faith and has been gifted in many ways from God. KKS - maybe you can describe this better? That's the way I've always been told, that speaking in tongues is a gift and meant to be used in private or with others that can understand, otherwise it can frighten other's that don't understand. I've only heard it one time at a church and it was the lady behind me. She was speaking jibberish and shaking all over, jumping up and down, crying. I was very young at the time and it really scared me.

Thank you! FOE sounds like back home to me, especially when the bio on one of the woman leaders said she loves Texas. LOL By any chance, do they speak in tongues there? That automatically rules out a place for me and I want to be sure that's not going to happen.

As long as you are looking for the flat bags that you drop into the bottle you'll be fine but we found those held less than the ones that come already shaped like the bottle. Those are the ones we had to import.

It depends which kind you are looking for. Are you looking for the flat bags that you open around the top rim of the bottle? Those are NOT at Toys R Us but they are at Safestway and at the pharmacy at Oasis Center on the bottom level. If you want the kind of drop in that are shaped like a bottle, you won't find them here. We've just spent the last month looking in every single store we could look in for these. I finally opened up an Aramex account and just had 400 delivered last week. It cost me $34 on Amazon and I got free shipping to my Aramex address and then once here it cost me 105 dhs for the delivery charge.

The clinic is on Wednesday I believe and it's in the strip of stores that runs along the main road in Motor City. There is a party supply store on one end and the Spinneys on the other end. It's close to the Caractere men's salon.

Went to the Dubai Mall on Friday night and took DS into the bathroom to wash his face paint off. While we were standing at the sink a woman pushes her trolley and son into the bathroom and the boy proceeds to vomit ALL OVER the floor with the majority of it landing on the cleaning ladies fabric sneakers. I felt so bad for the cleaning lady and she came and stood in the sink next to us trying to get all the vomit off her shoes but since they were fabric and it was all inside the laces, I'm sure the shoes were a total loss.

I was at Safestway last week and it's certainly open and they were restocking shelves. The outside has been stripped clean like they are remodeling and the top floor is empty but Safestway is very much open. I guess I'll just have to stock up from now until then to make sure I have everything. I made Green Bean Casserole for my sister last year and she told me not to bother making it b/c her family wouldn't eat it. I told her she didn't know what she was missing so they all tried a tiny bit. They ended up finishing the entire platter and asked me to make more the next day. She's emailed me several times throughout the year and told me her family was craving it so she had to make it again. I told her she's missed the best Thanksgiving food for all these years and has to catch up now.

I second Pottery Barn Kids. We purchased both our boy's bedroom furniture and bedding from there and this month purchased our newborn daughter's crib, bedding, rug, etc from there as well. Their furniture is well built and lasts for years and years. Our daughter's crib will convert to a toddler bed and then to a full size headboard when she moves to a big girl bed. So it may have cost a bit more now than an Ikea cot, but we won't be paying again in a couple years for a toddler bed and then again in a few more years for her big girl bed. PBK also carries the Melissa and Doug wooden toys and we've purchased several of the toys for our children from there and they have held up well with two rowdy boys.

50dhs ish for a STEAK??! No way. Hubby will die and go to heaven! Where is this paragon of full on coronary inducing food? And is it licensed? It's at the Dubai mall. Our bill for four people eating was 202 dhs and that included DH's 16 oz prime rib. I don't think that's bad at all. Do you mean licensed as in adult beverages? No, but they have a full range of NA drafts.

Looking forward to going soon. Did you happen to see the *baby* cactus blossom on the menu? Do they allow peanut shells on the floor? I thought I saw something on the menu about "cactus" but didn't pay attention fully to the appetizers since I knew I was going to *** out on the bread. LOL The manager did say their menu is identical to the one in the states and I'm guessing if they have sweet tea in Dubai you've got a good shot at the cactus blossom. DS immediately started throwing the shells on the floor like we do in the states and DH says, "Wait, I think that's what the clean bucket is for." So we had to teach the boys to put the shells in the bucket. My apologies to the cleaning crew that had to clean up before we caught on to the empty bucket. :) Fairy, it's great for the kids. They get a good selection of everything from mac and cheese to mini steak bites and they offer sides like apple sauce, fries, steamed vegetables, green beans. A good selection for the children. And it's a casual atmosphere so it doesn't matter if the children are a bit wiggly and loud.

The dancing is hardly scandalous, it's country western line dancing and it was a lot of fun. The customers were clapping and some were up dancing along. It's not fast food, I think it's great food but if it wasn't to your liking then that's great news for me since you won't be taking up space when I want a table. We'll be there on a regular basis. Fairycakeyumm, we love their steaks. DH ordered the 16 oz prime rib and you didn't need a knife. He had so much left over he ate it for the next two breakfasts with his eggs.

Texas Roadhouse is open in the Dubai mall and they sell sweet tea! All the steaks are USDA and the food taste exactly like it does in the states. We spoke to the manager about the place and he said he's selling equal amounts of sweet tea to regular tea but I told him he needs to kick the sweet tea up a bit and laughed and said they are using the "northern recipe" (4 cups of sugar) instead of the "southern recipe" (6 cups of sugar). I told him I understand they have to break Dubai in gently to sweet tea but go ahead and kick it up a cup. LOL He also said all the food is imported from the states so that's why it tastes the same. I also asked him if they were going to do the Free Kids Meal wooden tokens and he said he has spoken to the franchise about it and has been pushing for that to happen and is hoping within a few months the franchise will embrace the idea and start issuing those as well. The food was awesome and the service was really good.

The reason that the pancakes at More are very thin is because they are Dutch pancakes ladies, and this is how we eat our pancakes. by the way, More is owned by a Dutch family so that is the reason why some of the food is Dutch..[b'> the pancakes are amazing by the way[/b'>, just different from the "international" pancakes!! As for lime tree, I like their coffee, and their breakfast. I like their scrambled eggs to be more specific..of course, their carrot cake is sooo yummie!! if you fancy french breakfast, then Paul is a good place to go. I love their croissant and strawberry jam.. edited by Annabelle09 on 08/09/2011 lol...at the risk of another "in your opinion" argument on the thread, I think the More pancakes (pan thick-heavy-lumps-of-dough) are awful. ;) Amen!! It took me several glasses of water to eat them and even then I just couldn't finish them.

The key to good cornbread is the cast iron skillet and a well seasoned one at that. Get one from C&B and season it first. If you want good southern recipes check out either Paula Deen or Pioneer Woman. They are the queens of southern cooking. BTW, where is your husband from in the south?

Sorry, more like foam that you'd put in pillows. Our baby's mattress is 8 cm too short so I want to buy a sliver of thick foam and wedge it at the end of the mattress, then put the mattress pad around it, and then the sheet, so there won't be a gap between the mattress and the slats.

You do realise that we are paying the equivalent of more than $1000 US dollars a month in DEWA bills? Each of us? Is that not a truly insane amount? Our July bill gave DH a heart attack since it was more than our mortgage on the home we own in the US. Part of our problem too was the gardener washing down all the patios and garage and turning our sprinkler on 3 times per day. After talking to him and telling him our DEWA bill amount and watching his jaw drop open, he's since stopped messing with our water.

I'm going through this right now as we are home for summer break in the states and have been approached by our old adoption agency about adopting a newborn baby that is immediately available. I'll have a 4, 2, and NB to get around so I'm going to get the Sit and Stand double stroller. My two year old can either ride in the front and I can put the NB in the car seat in the back or the NB can go in the front in her carrier and my two year old can sit or stand in the back. This is what they look like: http://www.babytrend.com/sit_n_stand/
