Hi Katejk, if you are looking at serviced apartment The Galleria (attached to the Hyatt) is great. They have a golf park, which has a big grassed area where you could run around and play ball. They have a kids club as well. At least with this one you would feel like you have some outdoor space. Flora creek doesn't have this space, also there is more of a drive from Flora than Galleria. Sorry I don't kow anything about Bavaria. Around that area I don't know of many good nuseries, this is where Mirdiff would be better as there are malls, nuseries and parks to go to in the cooler weather. You will also need to consider how long you will stay as they start school here in Foundation stage 1 around 3 1/2. <em>edited by TimTam on 14/06/2011</em>

She shouldn't have any problems. My sister arranged the same card through ANZ for her honeymoon. She put all her cash on it and used it as a debit card in Europe and withdrew cash out at ATM machines. Here she can use it in stores and probably just sign for it or withdraw cash from machines which have either the cirrus or maestro symbols this will depend on what symbol is on her card. It very common to get these now from Australia instead of carrying travellers chqs.

Hi, my son goes there and is really happy. My elder child also went there and also loved it and did very well. They have both had great teachers, they offer a good selection of free after school activites during the term. You will hear good and bad about every school, visit the school and get a vibe. There is an app you can download called Documents to Go. It's not expensive I think about 13usd. My husband has been using this for word and excel docs. Don't know a lot about it but go onto itunes and check it out in the app store. Hope that's of some help. <em>edited by TimTam on 02/06/2011</em>

For liquids, cosmetics, creams etc shop at www.strawberrynet.com, never had a problem with any products sent, it's cheaper than buying here and postage is free, except perfume they charge a small amount.

For world environment day on the 5th June Gems schools are collecting electronic waste. I know Jumeirah College will have a box in their reception on this day. You can drop items in a box which will be in their main reception.

I had this done back in Australia but it was about 7 years ago. I freak out at any procedure so I went under anaesthetic. It is quite quick from memory and I had a dull period like ache afterwards and some bleeding. It seemed to work as I have had no abnormal cells since. They did keep a close eye on it, 6 months check afterwards then yearly smears. I haven't been to the City hospital but friends that have said it is excellent.

My son is at JC and it getting excellent support for Dyslexia. They have been greatt, yet it is difficult to get a place in the Support for Learning program. I have also heard great things about EC and Wellington. These are the only school I know of that have support in this area. Good Luck.

All the stores are the same price. Depends who has the stock available. We bought ours here and clairehdp is right it doesn't have facetime but you can download the app from itunes (not from the UAE itunes store). Facetime is chat from one apple to another. I suppose it's like skype so you could call someone and video call them if they also have an apple mac, iphone, ipad or itouch. The price here now is not too much more than the US, I think on the one we bought it was $100 difference.

A few years agon I bought them in Satwa in Plant street from an upholstery shop on the opposite side of the road from Bookworld. I think many of them have them. If you take your beanbags to them they will fill them in the shop for you, saves the mess at home.

Hi, incase anyone is looking for one the Ipad2 was realeased in stores today, Virgin at MCC had only 2 left, carrefour had a few. 64Gb wifi is Dhs 2999 which is pretty good as in the US they are USD699 which is about Dhs2599 dhs. If you want one I would suggest head out today as they will go fast, I just returned from Australia and couldn't get one as they were sold out. Happy shopping

According to the KHDA website the other schools results will be published in May. Our school had about 5 inspectors and stayed 4 days so it's not difficult for them to see all the classes.

Hi purple, As terrible_twos said it depends on the severity of the intolerance. Is it celiacs? What prompted you to do the tests, what were her symptoms. I don't bother toasting seperately. If my son eats the wheat he will get pain in his stomach and runs to the toilet. He is both wheat and dairy intolerant, even more tricky. You can get gluten free frankfurts in Spinneys & choithrams pork section, park and shop also make their own. Most other sausages have modified starch which is no good. We saw Stephanie Karl a nutrionist at the Dubai London clinic at Festivl city, she's been really helpful. When DS goes for a birthday party he tries to avoid things but again if he eats something he'll just get pains, nothing life threatening. Gluten bread is very dense and the one from the organic store freezes ok, yet my son would only eat it as toast. We also bought the sunflower bread from carrefour or spinneys which you find on the shelf. Again very dense. Rice crackers are great & tacos.

Hi Purple, About to go to bed so will post more tmrw. My son was told he was wheat intolerant. Some pastas in the organic store are reasonable, one brand is Buontempo is about 17dhs for 500gm and you get 20% off products at organic cafe on the 3rd sat of the month (17 April) My son is ok with Waitrose rye loaf (yet I ws told by the baker it has about 3% wheat, but my son doesn't have a reaction to it. I also buy gluten free cake mixes in organic store and make cupcakes for school and freeze them. They also have pankcake mixes which are quite nice. Kellogs website says even their corn and rice products may contain gluten. Buy the gluten free koala puff (like chocolate coco pops) available in carrefour and also the gluten free cornflakes. You can get both at Mirdiff carrefour. Anything with modified starch is a fancy word for wheat/gluten/thickener. Why you would put these in icy poles who knows! It's quite scary once you start looking. Soy sauce has gluten so you will need to buy Tamari (tastes the same) - organic store Park and shop currently have gluten free brownie mixes on special offer 2 packet mixes -22 dhs (make and freeze) Good luck

Hi Shanti, Many years ago I used to fit bras in a department store, it's important to get measured correctly otherwise they will be uncomfortable. Not sure who would do that here. I only wear Bendon bras and love them, have never had one that has been uncomfortable. http://www.bendon.com/collections/?item=330-BLAK have a look at their website. Will also depend what style you want too, but for under t-shirts/shirts these are great. I tend to get them back home but they do stock some of the styles here. Might be worth a try.

I've just placed an ad on the classified and Dubizzle for brand new hats that I've never worn. Have a thing for race hats but never get around to wearing them and we may be moving soon and won't need them. (no racing where we are going) I think the ad will be there by tomorrow. Selling them for 150dhs

I have some hats I want to sell. Everytime I see one I like I buy it but now have 5 hats and have only worn one (once to the Melbourne cup). 2 are from Marks and Spencer (one cholate brown/one cream) and 2 from Joanne Mercer (one black and one pale pink) in Melbourne, one from Myer(small black hat with feathers). I would probably drive myself as who knows how long it may take an ambulance to come! I have used Welcare in Garhoud and they have been excellent, both times for stitches for my son. American Hospital also was good when my friends son broke his arm.

Totally gone, normally Choithrams would stock Arnott's products but have been to 3 and they are gone, along with the BBQ shapes and milk arrowroot. There were 4 packets of mint slice at the Safa Park one :(

I just bought Fonzies at Union co-op Jumeirah in the chip section, OMG they are the same as Twisties. Made by kraft food company, chicken and cheese, my kids were so excited! Great with a choc Big M.

Most importantly you want to become a non resident of Australia otherwise the tax department can tax you on the money you earn here. Remove yourself from the electroral roll. We changed all bank account address, rates etc to here in Dubai. Yet for my licence and medicare I changed this to my parents address. Depending how long you are here, put your health insurance on hold or cancel it. Advise superannuation companies. If you are a non resident and living overseas I don't think you can contribute to your super fund, but check this with your accountant. I find good linen here expensive and tend to buy it when I'm home so stock up on linen.Food you can get just about anything here. You can get vegemite yet it's expensive so I bring it with me, also hubbies and kids favourite chocolates and things like twisities. Tampons- can't get the normal carefree etc ones here or they are hard to find, they all have applicators here. My husband and son are asthmatic and ventolin is so much cheaper in Australia as the discount chemists. I also bring the anti cancer council sunscreen. You can get sunscreen here but I like that one. Advise if you have kids as that will also help further recommendations. Good luck

I'm using 2kg on each hand weight and on Day 12, should be day 14 yet missed 2 days along the way. I find the 2kg fine yet on the last excercise on the 2nd program it's quite hard with 2 kg weights. It's a squat with a v shape lift of the arms, it kills me. I feel much better but haven't lost any kg's on the scales unfortunately, in saying that I haven't been dieting either. Good luck!

Hi Koolestmum, Kings is only a primary school. I can only speak for JC but I find the school excellent. Quite strict and disciplined and they expect a high standard from their students. If you want to get an idea of uniform, makeup etc go and visit each school at the end of the day and watch the children come out of school. Some parents complained at JC at a meeting about how children are outside the school gates and at Park and shop, yet the school said they can't control how children behave once they are outside the school grounds. (kids holding hands, shirts untucked etc) They assured parents that this doesn't occur on school grounds.
