Sorry you are going through this glot. Not good! {{{HUGS}}} I hate to say it, but if you marry this guy, his behaviour will only get worse. I was in a destructive/dysfunctional relationship several years ago and so I know it is VERY hard to get away and end things. You have to have faith that you are better off alone and/or you will meet someone who treats you right down the track. Quite simply, you need to get out of this relationship. This is no way to live. xoxox edited by Tru Blu on 24/05/2011

Thank you for sharing your experiences Ladies. I actually had DS2 at Al Wasl back in Feb 2010 and the experience was quite good. I just wanted to know what the experiences were of late (and since the price hike). When I delivered there the pre natal package was only 2500 and a c-section was only 5000. I have recently found out that I am expecting twins!!! quite a shock and all the more daunting as I already have a 2+ year old and a 15 month old. Not sure how I am going to go....... Anyway, I am presuming this is considered a "high risk" pregnancy??? Tania, what a shame you were not given preference for a private room after having twins! How many weeks were you when you delivered? Also, were you happy with the Dr's, Nurse's etc when you went through emergency for your c-section??? This is my biggest fear about Al Wasl. I have a lovely Dr there that I am very comfortable with but if I go into labour before the scheduled c-section then I will get any Dr who happens to be working in emergency at the time...

My 16 month old self-weaned when I was 5 months pregnant. Apparently this happens a lot as the milk changes a lot at this point (tastes more like colostrum or something).

Thanks Ding. How soon can they find you someone. I am heading home for a month but as soon as I return I will be wanting/needing some extra help. What nationality are the maids? and how long are the contracts? also, if you could tell me the upfront costs that would be fab :)

Why would you want to report them....? IMO put energy into your own business and be successful from that, rather than trying to close down all competition. Have to agree with this statement. ;)

lol! mission for today then...find out WHO actually said the lovely quote. Part of it was definitely MLKJr but only part of it. Looks like someone somewhere left out some quotation marks in its original posting (and therefore it has been falsely attributed to him in its entirety). Either way, a lovely quote, and very fitting for the current climate.

Be careful, the rabid dogs will be on this thread telling you to go and burn an American flag soon. Bunch of low lives. I agree, I'd have liked to have seen him suffering when he was captured or after he was killed! Martin Luther King, Jr: 'I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.

How else can I "teach" her that biting, especially whilst feeding is NOT on?!?! She has done it before, but today was just so darn hard, I never had time to think about my reaction :/: Close up shop immediately. She will soon get the message when she is still hungry and you are not feeding her. Obviously go back and feed her in 5 minutes or so....;)

oh, now that is interesting DC. We have sort of planned that for lil miss's high school we will settle somewhere home-ish, for some stability and continuity. However, your experience shows the other side of the coin...we may not be doing her any favours at all, if we take her home she will definitely be 'odd'. Filing it away for future, thanks. I think it largely depends on when you move your kids back home. DH was an expat child (grew up in an American Camp in Sumatra, Indonesia). His parents moved back to Australia when he was 13, his brother was 15 and sister was 17. This was particularly BAD timing for DH and his brother. Smack bang in the middle of high school. They were not accepted at all and felt like complete outsiders. DH swears that we will not be doing that to our kids. He want's to return a few years before high school starts.

I personally dont agree with the whole restriction. But each to their own. My sister does the same thing when she is playing with friends, my mom always tells her to go loo before she plays, maybe before his hour starts , make sure he loos first. what do you mean you don't agree with the restriction?

My son is allowed to play an hour a day on weekends but I have noticed during and after this he is always very late to the toilet only just making it and very agitated after playing. Anyone else noticed this? How old is your son? It is a good thing that you have a time restriction on the nintendo. I have friends who's kids are allbut addicted!!!! Also, if he is agitated, what game is he playing? have you had a good look at them. Some of them are violent and very graphic

I am not a fan of the kenyan ones either. They are watery and stringy. Every now and again I buy one (they are a 1/3 of the price) but I am always dissapointed. Also, if the avo's are hard, don't bother doing anything with them. Put them next to some bananas and they will ripen in a couple of days.

I have two boys and we opted not to circumcise. I did a lot of reasearch and determined that it was not necessary. It causes the baby a great deal of pain too (no matter what "they" say). My sister was going to have her DS circumcised (her husband is) but when they made enquiries back home in Australia, they were told that these days it is the exception rather than the norm (whereas 30 years ago, it was the other way around). In the end they decided not to circumcise their little guy.

I think the BBC will be doing something special on the day (but it will be mingled in with other news events). I think you will have a choice as many networks will want to cover it from beginning to end.

I loved having packers.........and I imagine so do the store owners. Less queues at the checkout, faster throughput, happier shoppers and more profits. Why do so many posters on here equate this with some kind of exploitation? It is quite simply much, much more time and motion effective than having shoppers do the dance between loading the conveyer, and dashing to the other end to pack.........especially when it's an anally retentive "everything in the right bag" customer. Seems to me that there are far better ways of flaunting one's higher moral standards than holding up the checkout. Well said :)

If you choose fun and play, tell them NOT to let your child watch TV. I live in Sadaf 2 and every time I walk past they have the TV on. You just have to give them very clear instructions and you should be fine. For flexible hours it is really your only bet. DS goes to Cello Club at Al Fattan and they are flexible, but they only start taking LO's from 18 months.

Tips; Privilages are earnt. Chores are daily and that's life. Money does not grow on trees, if you allow your child to believe it does then you will have problems. Lead by example. Limit TV, computer games, etc. Encourage sport, music and play. Limit gifts to B'days & Christmas/Eid. You are the parent not the friend, parenting comes with battles, make sure you win them from young. Learn the ability to say NO and enforce it. Pocket money and bank accounts, nope not until far later in years. I totally agree with everything you have stated. Especially limiting TV and computer games :) I think they can be posinous if not closely monitored

Better not to bite back anyway. I know exactly how you feel and what you are talking about, but it is a good think that your "comeback" does not come to you until your rude guest has left! She must be jelous of you anyway
