Another one for Moorfields! I had my daughter assessed in UK in August and was told all ok and then took her to Moorfields in December DH has sceptical and said she didn't need it to be retested but thought since we were being tested would do DD a well.. We watched her being tested and were shocked! Not only to be told that all is NOT OK.. she has problems with BOTH short and long vision and has to wear glasses 24/7.. (we could read the charts that she clearly couldn't) Since then her reading has improved almost overnight.. am very glad that I made the choice.. Definitely only going to Moorfields in the future... nowhere else! <em>edited by rubyslippers on 05/02/2015</em>

Rosie, go and see Dr Safar. The other thing which I'd strongly suggest is go to a proper eye hospital/clinic. Not a laser clinic. This is for a lazy eye, which I have had treated before, they inject botox into the muscle in the eye. I need some that can do this and that is very good. i know Claire was highly recommended for this before....

Dr Claire has left :( Moorfields are generally excellent though. Do you know where she has gone? her husband used to be the British ambassador down in Abu Dhabi; he came to the end of his tenure and was moved on; I don't know where but would assume it is a very long way away. Has anyone been to see Dr Claire's replacement? or can anyone recommend a good ophthalmologist? I was recommended to see Claire by my specialist in London

Dr Janice as mentioned above is excellent. I had been taking my daughter to Moorfields since it opened here. She has had terrible problems with her eyes since she was 3. Moorfields has gradually got more and more busy and you feel like you are on a conveyor belt and its more rush rush rush without things being property explained. My last straw came when my daughter was given a prescription by the cashier as it was in the file and nobody had taken the time to explain it. Even he apologized and didn't charge me. Dr Claire was very good and I do like Saj there but Saj's opposite number, the lady, is dreadful so be careful who you get if you go. Dr Janice is up to date with all the latest issues, my daughter spent an hour with her being properly checked a couple of weeks ago - i can't rate her enough.

Good morning. Can anyone please suggest an excellent Ophthalmologist / Optometrist who can check my teenage sons eyesight. Not had much luck with the person we saw 6 months ago. Thank you Dr Ahmed from The British Lasik Center on Jumeira Beach Rd, he's very good. I had the lasik surgery done there couple of weeks back. And from what I know they also have one ophthalmologist or optometrist from USA specialized in teenagers.

Thank you I had a very good experience with Dr. Ammar N Safar at the American Hospital Dubai. This was for testing, diagnosis, surgery and aftercare.
