As much as we love pizza, it can wreak havoc on your skin. This is mainly because pizzas contain dairy and spices that kickstart your sebaceous glands. These glands overproduce oil which then leads to breakouts and zits. Diary in the crust and the cheese, both contribute to acne.

This does not mean you can't enjoy the occasional slice of pizza. However, be careful not to get it on the skin around your mouth as the ingredients can irritate your skin. Make sure to wash your hands after eating pizza so that no residue transfers to your skin.

A point to be noted is that too much casein (milk protein present in pizzas) can aggravate the risk of cancer.
A healthy alternative is to get dairy free cheese on your pizza to avoid casein and future breakouts. We promise, it tastes just as good as the real thing - and is totally guilt free!
