Arab Designers Sparkled At The 2018 VMAs

We’re used to Middle Eastern designers rocking the red carpet of annual awards shows and ceremonies –from the Grammys to the Oscars, Arab couturiers always dazzle with some of the best dresses. So, the 2018 VMAs were no different, as once again fashion designers from the Middle East made their mark.

Specifically it was the talent of Lebanese fashion designers Nicolas Jebran, Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad which shone. Dressing stars such as Winne Harlow, Karlie Kloss, Cardi B and Shay Mitchell, the Arab designers impressed yet again with standout red carpet looks.

Shay Mitchell in Nicolas Jebran

Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell wore a plunging, orange detailed mini-dress by Lebanese fashion designer Nicolas Jebran. The Arab designer was also the talent behind the black velvet gown Beyoncé wore for the 2018 Grammy Awards.

Winnie Harlow in Zuhair Murad Couture

Model Winnie Harlow showed off two red carpet looks last night, which both embraced the naked dress trend. This particular dress by Zuhair Murad had fringing, embellishment and sheer detailing that embodied the style of the Lebanese couturier.

Cardi B in Nicolas Jebran

Cardi B dazzled in jewel tones whilst making her post-baby debut on the red carpet. The singer wore an elegant velvet dress by Nicolas Jebran and accessorised it with emerald earrings, ring bling and a new pixie haircut.

Karlie Kloss in Elie Saab

Karlie Kloss sparkled in a silver Elie Saab ensemble, with a thigh-high slit and paired the look with a Judith Leiber clutch. A regular on the red carpet, Lebanese designer Elie Saab once again shined at an awards show, as Karlie looked stunning in this strappy number.

Cardi B in Azzi & Osta

Cardi B wore three outfits during the VMAs, as Beirut-based design duo Azzi & Osta were behind this bold red dress. The singer also won three awards last night, including Best New Artist.
