Canine Couture: Dogs Model On The Runway At New York Fashion Week

Move over the Hadid sisters, Kaia Gerber and Ashley Graham, as these were the models which caught our attention at New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2018. Fashion designer and pet couturier Anthony Rubio showcased his latest collection at NYFW made for both humans and pets, as doggy models strutted their stuff down the runway.

The Canine Couture and Women’s Wear Fall/Winter 2018 collection was inspired by the Chinese New Year and the 2018 lunar Year of the Dog, as we’ve also recently seen designer label Gucci launch a Year of the dog inspired collection.

Anthony Rubio chose Instagram-famous dogs to parade the catwalk alongside human models, as the dog breeds included a cute Shih Tzu, a Yorkie and a Pomeranian-husky hybrid. The puppy fashion featured embellished dresses, capes and jackets with intricate crystal and glass beading, as some dogs were accessorised with bows, hats and extravagant collars!
