Born in a Kenyan refugee camp, Somali-American model - Halima Aden has sent shockwaves to the fashion industry by making her debut at the New York Fashion Week. She instantly became the most talked about model after she stepped out on Kanye West's Yeezy runway wearing a hijab,

Speaking to Vogue, Halima said, "My goal is to send a message to Muslim women and young women everywhere that it’s okay to break stereotypes and be yourself. Always stay true to who you are—barriers can and will be broken!”
She admits that she may not always find something in a designer's collection that matches her standards of modesty, but is thankful for the stylists who have worked with her. For the Yeezy show, she was styled by Carine Roitfeld - who put the model at ease completely.
What's next for the model? A photo-shoot with the legendary Mario Sorrenti. And that is only the beginning.
