We're still celebrating awards season as the 71st British Academy Film Awards took place last night in London at the Royal Albert Hall. Celebrities on the red carpet once again showed their support of the Times Up movement by wearing all black, as the BAFTAs 2018 dress code reflected the same message as the Golden Globe Awards back in January.

Angelina Jolie and Andrea Riseborough, chose to walk the red carpet alongside feminist and human rights activists, as the film industry continued its fight against injustice and put on a united front. Whilst the red carpet fashion at the BAFTAs included gowns from Dior, Chanel, Givenchy and Burberry, we also saw classic couture from Middle Eastern designers Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad.

From Angelina Jolie to Jennifer Lawrence, here are our best dressed celebrities in all black at the BAFTAs 2018

#1 Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

Not only did we fall for Jennifer Lawrence’s sculpted corset-style gown with off the shoulder tulle sleeves, but we also adored her BAFTAs beauty look. Lawrence paired her classic Dior gown with emerald jewels and a ruby-red shade for her lips and nails. Her hair was slicked back, to complete her dramatic, yet elegant look.

#2 Angelina Jolie in Ralph & Russo

Angelina Jolie wowed in a sleek black velvet gown by British couturiers Ralph & Russo. With her signature thigh-slit, the silhouetted gown was stunning.

#3 Lupita Nyong’o in Elie Saab

Lebanese couterior Elie Saab did it again with this flowing gown for Lupita Nyong’o. We loved the structured cross-over panelling, the silver studded details and the contrast of a graceful skirt which Lupita couldn’t help but twirl in.

#4 Lily James in Burberry

Lily James can’t escape the fairy tale gowns that were made for her! For the BAFTAs black dress code she went for a gothic princess gown by Burberry, with a tiered tulle skirt and an embellished belt, she styled her look wth glittering diamond earrings.

#5 Saoirse Ronan in Chanel

Actress Saoirse Ronan had a Parisian moment in classic Chanel, as we adored her high neck gown with frayed detailing and a contrasting mesh skirt. Her hair was styled in an effortless up-do, as we instantly fell for this candid capture at the BAFTAs 2018.

#6 Margot Robbie in Givenchy

Margot Robbie stunned in a sophisticated Givenchy gown with lace detailing, but it was her pearl and crystal embellished clutch bag which caught our eye! The cut-out detailing of the dress accentuated her slender figure, as another high-neck dress impressed.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge opted for a dark earthy-green dress by Jenny Packham with emerald jewellery, as wearing black and making a political statement would be against royal protocol. Still, Kate Middleton’s beautiful maternity fashion was definitely worth a mention!
