Imagine what it would be like to have an outdoor spa sanctuary, a place of peace and harmony right outside your door. If you often need to relax after a hard long day, you’ll be happy to jump into a pool or a hot tub. If this water body is located outdoors, it’s a double pleasure because you can also enjoy fresh air and views, especially during winter in Dubai. Here's how you can create the perfect outdoor spa:
Hot tub
The first and most important component of an outdoor spa is a good quality hot tub or Jacuzzi that you need to install in your backyard or garden. If you need shielding from the sun and more privacy you can build a gazebo around it. To keep running costs low, you can tap into your existing heater.
Fluffy towels or robes
One way to re-create the experience of being at your favourite spa is to have a hutch or cabinet full of luxurious, fluffy white towels ready to comfort you after stepping out of the hot tub.
Soothing music
Love the sounds of crashing waves, rainforest sounds, or meditation bells during a massage? Load your mobile phone with soothing sounds and music and play it on a Bluetooth speaker. Even better if the speaker is waterproof!
Refreshing drinks
Enjoy a chilled glass of cucumber water while soaking in your hot tub or help your body detox with a cleansing drink of lemon, ginger and honey.
Aromatherapy
Surround your hot tub with your favourite scented candles. Or, purchase an oil diffuser and a few essential oils. Lavender is perfect to relax, while peppermint, jasmine and rose help to elevate your mood. If you’re not a fan of candles or oils, try adding rose petals or outdoor twinkle lights for a bit of magic.
Outdoor seating
Create a space to sit, before or after, your time in the spa and reflect on the day, catch up with your family or friends or read a book. Something as simple as an outdoor loveseat, hammock and lounge chairs will create a zone that the whole family will love and enjoy.
