What is Galentine's day you ask? Well, it is only the best day ever.

Every year on 13th of February, women all over the world have been ditching their boyfriends/husbands to celebrate their "gals". It is also the perfect day for single ladies to celebrate being single!

Here's how to throw a Galentine's day party that will be remembered.

Invitations

The fun begins with the invitations. Whether you send out printed invitations/e-vites make sure they celebrate your girl squad.

Decorations

The theme and decorations are important to set the right mood. Make the most of the weather in Dubai and host an outdoor party - complete with cosy cushions and candles as shown below. Or you could have a pink theme running indoors - make it festive and girly!

Food and Drinks

Calorie counting is a complete NO-NO on Galentine's day. Bring on cupcakes, comfort food and champagne!

The best way to go about this is potluck style. Ask all your guests to bring a dish of their choice along with a bottle of bubbly for mimosas to keep a control on your budget and sanity. If some of your guests do not want to spike their orange juice, you can set up a juice station (as shown below).

You can also have a Galentine's Day cake - cause, why not?

Activities

Crank up some Beyonce girl power tunes and have a dance party, host a mani/pedi party, watch an ultra girly movie like Meangirls or do all of it - the options are endless!

Gifts

Put a spin on Secret Santa and play Secret Cupid! Everyone must bring a gift for someone in their girl tribe and then the guessing begins.

Why should gifts be limited only to couples celebrating Valentine's Day? Carrie Bradshaw said it best - "If you are single, after graduation there isn't one occasion where people celebrate you. Hallmark doesn't make, "Congratulations you didn't marry the wrong guy card." "

Well, maybe Hallmark needs to get wind of Galentine's day and all its fabulousness!
