Ever wondered how movie directors come up with the most nefarious looking headquarters for the bad guys? It’s part imagination and part inspiration - from real life buildings. Believe it or not but the world is filled with some of the most formidable looking architectural masterpieces that can easily outdo the evil Sauron Tower from Lord of the Rings.
What’s more surprising? These buildings aren’t meant to be dark and sinister. In fact, they serve as shopping centres, churches and health headquarters that, with special lightings and effect, look straight-out-of-a-super-villain movie.

1. Riverside Museum, Glasgow, UK
The fabulous Riverside Museum in Glasgow looks spooky as hell in ghostly green lighting and has a pointy zinc roof.
