Luxury doesn’t have to come at the cost of sustainability.
Located in the turquoise lagoons of Kaafu Atoll in Maldives, the Finolhu Villas Resort is proving just that with its 100% solar-powered approach to saving energy and minimising the effect on the environment.
This one-of-a-kind getaway is powered by 67000 square feet of solar panels that produce more than enough energy to provide electricity for 100 guests and 100 staffers. The solar panels are built right into the resort's design. Excess energy is saved for rainy days.

The breath-taking resort spreads on a 13-acre land and houses 52 villas equipped with all the necessities of the modern world.
Yuji Yamazaki, the designer behind this masterpiece kept a minimalistic approach to have as little impact as possible on the pristine environment. He also designed each room with subtle modifications to preserve energy. For example, windows are strategically placed to invite ocean breezes in while blocking the sun's harsh rays.
