Island In Tasmania Is Offering Couples A House And A Job To Move There

This may be the ultimate test of your relationship. Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service (as shown below) is offering a house and a job to couples who are willing to move to the Maatsuyker Island - a 460-acre island located 6 miles off the southern coast of Tanzania.

What is the job, you ask? All you have to do is take care of the above-mentioned island for a period of 6 months from March - September or September - March for two years. The duties include maintenance of "grounds, buildings and plant and equipment," and observing the weather for the Bureau of Meteorology (training will be provided). The house that will be provided has 4 bedrooms and 1 bath. There is also a vegetable garden where you can grow your own food.

Sounds too good to be true? Well, there is one catch. The island is based in a remote location, so there is no TV/internet (which means you cannot Instagram the stunning island). The only time you can leave the island during the 6 month period is if you have to be evacuated via a helicopter for an emergency.

This is why only couples who have spent time with each other in a remote location are encouraged to apply (can you imagine breaking up and having nowhere to go and no one to talk to?).

However, if you are antisocial and would love to be cut off from the real world, this may be the perfect opportunity for you and your partner. You can apply for the job by January 30, 2017. Check out Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service's Facebook page for more information.
