According to an annual study by Hoppa – a worldwide airport transport company, Zurich tops the chart as the priciest tourist city. Spending one night in the Swiss capital will cost you around $210 (AED 770). On the other end of the spectrum is Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria.With only $47 (AED 172) a night – Sofia ranks as the cheapest destination in the world.

Hoppa’s annual study covers 84 worldwide destinations in terms of per night stay charges, food, drink and travel prices. The report also compares the cost of seeing some of the most popular attractions around the world.

Spending one-night in NYC is as pricey as it gets — a staggering $228 (AED 837)

The cost of a decent 3-course meal for two is cheapest in Makkah, Saudi Arabia $8.75 (AED 32) and highest in Zurich, Switzerland $98 (AED 359)

Eating a regular burger in Venice, Italy is equal to eating 10 similar burgers in Manila, Philippines i.e. $16 (AED 58)

The costliest cup of a regular espresso is found in Copenhagen, Denmark $6.26 (AED 23) and the cheapest in Kiev, Ukraine.

Jumping on a sightseeing double decker bus in Dubai will set you back by £54.50 (AED 250) per person whereas the same ride will cost you £7.50 (AED 34) in Kiev, Ukraine.
