Things To Do In Dubai: March Edition

Despite the odd grey day, the Dubai weather is heating up and so our plans for March in Dubai as we can’t wait for spring in the Middle East!

From lazy days on the beach watching the camels walk by, to admiring creative talents at Art Dubai and experiencing more culture at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, there’s plenty to keep you busy in March. As you also need to dig out your best hat for the Dubai World Cup which returns at the end of the month.

Ladies listen up, as we have plans for International Women’s Day 2018 in Dubai which is celebrated on the 8th March. And for all the Irish expats living in Dubai (or those who love to party) we’ve also highlighted St. Patricks Day celebrations you won’t want to miss.

So here are the dates you need to save for the month ahead, with your Dubai lifestyle and culture guide for March

Dalí in Dubai

1st March to 22nd April

DIFC Conference Centre, Building 4

The Conference Centre in DIFC is crurrently hosting a “Salvador Dalí –The Memories” exhibition with the Spanish artists work being displayed in the Middle East for the first time. The collection exhibits rare pieces that have been hidden from the public as the world’s most iconic surrealist artist is brought back to life here in Dubai. The show can be viewed on weekdays from 1pm-10pm and weekends from 10am-10pm.

Emirates Airline Festival of Literature

2nd March to 10th March

InterContinental, Dubai Festival City

Book lovers, rejoice! The 2018 edition of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature has already launched as the region’s largest celebration of all things literary is off to a success. There’s still time to meet your favourite author, including Dame Jacqueline Wilson as tickets are still on sale for all the book worms in the Middle East.

International’s Women's Day in Dubai

8th March

Whether you’re heading to beach club with free entry for women, or partying at a Dubai ladies night on the Palm, the 8th of March is all about girls who run the world as we’ll be celebrating International Women’s Day 2018 here in the Middle East. From free drinks at Gaucho to feminist Frida Kahlo themed Mexican food at Peyote (with a free beauty gift bag), make sure you raise a glass to the women you admire on 8th March.

9th March to 10th March

With the best of the Middle East’s beauty influencers and experts, they’ll also be internationally acclaimed beauty icons, as they’ll all discuss the latest beauty trends, participate in masterclasses and delve into the world of beauty.

St Patricks Day 2018 in Dubai

16th -17th March

For St. Patricks Day in Dubai 2018, there’s a huge McGettigan’s Paddy’s Day festival at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on 16th March for all the Irish partygoers with performances from Irish band Kodaline. Early bird tickets are AED 195, and it’s AED 250 for regular tickets or there’s a BBQ Brunch Deck for AED 495 for a three-hour brunch with unlimited food and drink, plus your entry ticket.

Art Dubai 2018

21st to 24th March

Madinat Jumeirah

The leading international art fair is back in the Middle East for its twelfth edition, as we can’t wait to explore and admire creative talents at Art Dubai 2018. Artists and gallerists are excited to showcase the latest contemporary and modern works, as the art world arrives in Dubai for a globally diverse event and appreciation of art in culture in the region and beyond.

Nikki Beach Club

17th March

Pearl Jumeirah, 12pm to 12am

After your Paddy's Day celebrations, relax at the luxury beach club Nikki Beach which is celebrating it's second birthday. There will be a party to celebrate two iconic years of the beach club with live entertainment, performances and maybe a few more beverages.

Rag’n’Bone Man at Dubai Opera

23rd March

Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai, 9pm

The award winning singer Rag’n’Bone Man aka Rory Graham, will play a one-night-only show at the Dubai Opera. The BRIT Awards winner is currently on a European tour, but fans in the Emirates are being spoilt with a special performance for AED 195 on 23rd March.

Dubai World Cup 2018

31st March

Medyan Hotel and Grandstand

We’re ending the month with the annual Dubai World Cup which is the perfect excuse to glam up and buy a new dress to match your best hat! We can’t wait for this huge event, but in the meantime we’re taking inspiration from last year’s Dubai’s best dressed at the Dubai World Cup 2017.
