'Tis the season to start watching Christmas ads, so here’s Riccardo Tisci’s first for Burberry…
Directed by Juno Calypso, “Close Your Eyes and Think of Christmas” portrays a realistic British Christmas, captured through a fantasy lens. It takes us through festive rituals, whilst showcasing seasonal style featuring an all-star British cast.
From supermodel Naomi Campbell (and her mum, Valerie Morris-Campbell) to actor Matt Smith and Burberry newcomers Kristin Scott Thomas and M.I.A., the Christmas campaign is brimming with familiar faces.

Just like Christopher Bailey’s campaigns before it, the new Riccardo Tisci advert feels very British, sticking with the label’s history and ethos. Yet, the 2018 Burberry Christmas campaign is less festive fun, and more true to the season’s highs and lows –that ultimately bring us together over the period.
Magical falling snow is swapped for a moment in the pie and mash shop, a Burberry umbrella battles the British winter weather and a trench coat never looked better on public transport.
Of course, there’s still a plush dining room scene full of glamourous eveningwear and the season’s sparkling must-haves. And, a twinning mother-daughter clip with Naomi Campbell and her mother wearing matching plaid.

Captured modelling the new Vivienne Westwood & Burberry collaboration (that launches on 6th December), Naomi and her mum represent tradition over trends –as we love their role in the short film.
