Yes TDB 13 months!!! Her reflux was always pretty bad so it was small bottles and often and I think she is only just getting to the point where she is eating enough during the day to be able to cut out the motn bottle. I was afraid up to now she wasnt getting the oz necessary on formula or milk so am gonna give it a go. Im very fortunate to have been able to stay off work so its doable when I dont have to go to work every day. Watering down isnt advisable at a very young age as far as I know due to kidney activity but Im sure at 13 months it should be fine. Its just like her drinking water...? Mrsg1 thats what I was thinking.... Im down to 3oz now but with 5oz water so will see how that goes... Although Im afraid she might be looking for the company and the cuddle too so not sure how thats gonna go even when we're down to water LOL!

My DD is 13 months old and has spent 24/7 with me since she was born. She is now super super clingy and wants to be picked up all the time. She may be going through separation anxiety...? She wont even play on her own and needs me to be there all the time. I was just wondering if any of you have any suggestions as to how I could encourage her independence a little? We dont do CIO or anything similar but any other suggestions would be very much appreciated. TIA!

Thanks ladies, We are moving soon and am terrified we are going to take them with us. I will try the cinnamon and tumeric and see. With normal ants, you can usually trace the source but these are tin red/brownish coloured ants and dont seem to follow the normal "ant trends"! I havent been able to trace them back to anywhere. And they are on such strange surfaces such as walls etc ???!!!! Claire, we used NPC before and they were very good - that wasnt for ants but definitely did the job. And they have a clause where they will do a free treatment if the problem occurs within something like 8 weeks. Right, Im going to powder my kitchen with tumeric and cinnamon!

Its terrible but I cant remember her name or have her contact details. She was a lovely British woman who comes highly recommended and lives off Al Wasl Road towards Dubai side.... maybe someone else on here can give you her name and number. I used her and she was fantastic.....

The only pests we have are those tiny ants that have been around recently! Have tried ant traps but they are too small to get caught in them!

Hi SS, We returned with our 8 month old a couple of weeks ago. The first couple of days were bliss as she was still within the European timezone and was sleeping til 8am! Within 3 days she was back to waking between 5.30 - 6am! Groan! She has woken in the night for certain lengths of time and has started playing but once I go in, she will settle quite quickly. It may take a week or so for your baby to settle but dont worry...

Thank you ladies for your replies, This side of Geneva had been recommended to us by friends but we know nothing of this part of France so will unfortunately be depending on Agents Immobiliers to help us! When you say "the other side" of Geneva, that would indicate living in Switzerland? Which would probably be a lot more expensive? Tartiflette, I love the sound of your house but its probably a little big for what we are looking for at the moment. The idea would be to rent something smallish for the first 6 months until we get our bearings and then look at buying. Its going to be a hectic move!!!!

Have you any knowledge of the following areas: Ferney Voltaire ; Cessy ; Gex ; Divonne; Saint Genis de Pouilly Thoiry; And are any of them better than the others please? We are relocating next month and these are the areas suggested to us. We have a young baby too so will probably be needing creche facilities at some stage from next year.... Any comments would be very much appreciated...

Apologies kiwispiers, I have been meaning to come back to you before now but have been sidetracked every time. I didnt mean to sound harsh below but some posters on here seem to have a need to shoot you down and criticise your parenting skills when all you are doing is research in the hope of finding either a solution or reassurance that what you are doing is best for your baby. I am a FTM and have had NO experience with babies before, let alone a refluxer. She is my absolute world and all I want is the very best for her. If that means getting up 5 times a night, then I will happily do that but just wondered if it would be better for her sleep not to wake if its only habitual. Anyway, thank you for your comments below. You have always been very helpful with your comments and it is very much appreciated. You really are a valued member of this forum!

Thanks ladies for your replies, Suznz I was planning on taking the babycarrier anyway as I use it a lot and find it fantastic but I actually thought it might be safer for the stroller to take it to the gate? That way its not checked in and thrown in with all the other luggage.....?

Hi taurusbaby, Thanks for your reply. She is now falling asleep on her own but again this is recent. Up until maybe 1 month ago she had to be rocked to sleep - we have been working on a very gradual process of getting her to fall asleep on her own and its going well. So she is now falling asleep on her own once we put her down. I think her previous multiple wakings were due to the fact that she wasnt falling asleep on her own but her wakings are improving now she can self settle.

My Dr told me specifically under no circumstances to get pregnant within a year of having my CS. She said it would be risky otherwise.

So, stupid question, but did you carry the water in the baby bottles? We use Dr. Brown and although there is a cover for the teat, there are holes in it so the water would leak out. We generally use stainless steel bottles that keep the water at the temp we put it in - you think that would be risky?

Thanks ladies, I havent been stressing up to now - I have been really ensuring that meal times are fun for her and we do have lots of fun together! I decided to go for purees initially as the thought of her choking terrifies me! I have done a paeds first aid course but still.....I tried with pieces of avocado yesterday and that was just squashed all over her tray lol and this morning with apple but she was biting off large chunks so that probably wasnt the best food to start with. Maybe I should read up on BLW and give it a go.... My baby is FF so a little concerned about iron etc... but like you say, she'll eat when she wants to eat!

Thanks Catherine Abigail, We can get through the teething during the day as I manage to give her cold things and some homeopathy so we can manage during the day but its at night time when it seems to bother her the most. She wakes up every night and cries (which she never does usually) and cannot get back to sleep. I have been trying to console her for the last week of nights and it was taking up to 2.5hrs to get her back to sleep so she has been very tired during the day. However, one night I gave her baby paracetamol and she fell right back to sleep.....

Hi KJ, I looked for one of these going back about 18 months ago and was impossible to find - the agent, not the property lol. Im my experience, as its a small property, they are not too invested.... However, I did contact a very nice lady called Jane (cant remember the name of the agency she was with) and her # was 04 3418805. She was very informative, called back when she said she would etc. Most of the other agents I had been in touch with, even from reputed agencies, kept proposing properties that just werent what we were looking for!

Anyone have any idea how to change LO's pooping cycle? I know it sounds weird but we are finally getting her sleep sorted out as she has always been a terrible sleeper! The thing is, for the past 5 nights, she has woken at 3.3am as she has soiled her nappy! I have to get her up, change her, wash her etc and by the time I do all that, shes wide awake! :( Shes only 5.5months and only being introduced to solids so not taking very much...Before now, she would only poop during the day.... Strange question , I know....but just in case anyone has any ideas :) Thanks!

Thanks ladies - all very helpful! One question - did your LO's have problems sleeping elsewhere when you travelled? Our LO has only ever slept in her own cot so am wondering how she will be in another (or several as we will be moving around quite a bit...). We are not planning on taking a travel cot with us as family have one already but would it be better to buy one now and start to get her used to it? Would it be worth carrying with us home? TIA!

She is almost 6 months old and it was suggested due to reflux. We had been to see an allergist who said that the most recent research now indicates that solids can be introduced from 4 months onwards if the baby is ready. I'll just keep trying anyway and see if it improves. She seems to enjoy it so thats a plus :)

I do not understand why so many people have a problem with this thread?!?! It has been stated that it is not insurance fraud, that it IS within BUPA regulations, that claims will not be made as the card will be held by the company etc....Why can people not just accept that and either move on or do something positive to try to help the OP? Why is there so often such a negative, shoot down attitude on this forum? Someone in a desperate situation is asking for help..... is that SO bad? Can we not just try to help rather than criticise and be so negative?! This is someones health we are talking about - not something trivial!

I agree with simpleasabc - if the insurance company was not prepared to do this, they would include pre-existing condition questionnaires for all who avail of their health scheme. If they are not asking for those details, how is it unethical? Also, as the OP noted below, they will not even claim on the insurance cover while on the group scheme which is 3 years. So how is this unethical??? Apart from the fact that this could change and even SAVE someone's life! Where would your ethics stand on that one, Splinters? If you had the chance to save someone's life, would you refuse on the grounds of what you consider ethical? edited by Mmmmmm on 19/05/2013

Thanks ladies, CCG, thank you for the suggestion but that wouldnt work for me - need to be able to wake up LOL! Enjoy, she has never liked been swaddled. We put her in a grobag. We have had a nice bedtime ritual for the past 3 months and she goes down no problems. Its from about 11pm onwards that she starts to wake. First it was wind and we have sorted that out with Gripe Water but I think shes teething now.... Even when she does sleep I cant get back to sleep now anyway :(
