Im a FTM and recently LO keeps rubbing her nose and eyes (as if she were very tired) but even when shes not. Is this a sign of teething I wonder?

What sort of feeds do your LO's take? My LO is 5 months now and she is still only taking between 4oz - 5oz (but most of the time its 4oz). She feeds every 3 hours but wont take any more than that. A lot of babies I know her age are on 8-9oz which is a lot more. She is still taking a dream feed about 11pm and then a night feed between 2am - 3am. She is putting on weight - thats definitely not an issue but was just wondering what other reflux babies feeds are like? Im also starting her on solids soon (just tasters) but Im concerned that she might take even less milk once solids are established and want to make sure her milk intake remains sufficient. TIA!

Sandstar that would be AMAZING please if possible! Where are you based? I had someone due to visit who was going to bring me some over but the trip has been cancelled! I had seen on another thread that it was available in Dubai in some places but no names given. It no longer contains alcohol or sugar so I cant understand why it wouldnt be available on this market!

Our LO is almost 5 months and cannot self settle. We are NOT prepared to use CIO but had considered the PU/PD method. Has anyone used this? I am just starting my research on it now but was wondering if anyone has any experience, good or bad? TIA!

Mols I had this last week. There were other indications that LO wasnt well before fever hit like not eating. not being "herself". I called City maternity ward as it was late at night and they said to give Calpol but if it stays over 38 even after giving the medication to take her in as there was another underlying cause that needed to be investigated. It turns out she had a throat infection that needed to be treated. Keep an eye on and if you dont feel comfortable, I would always call your dr / hospital for peace of mind.

Hi TDB, Yes we tried the AR formula too but it has a thickening agent in it that causes very bad wind and because of that the Dr recommended taking her off it. Will start off with baby rice this weekend anyway (she will be 20 weeks) and see how she goes - she seems very interested in food too so will be an interesting experience lol!

Thank you ladies. We have had a rough few months with reflux and although our LO is putting on weight, she is in a lot of discomfort. Our paed here and also one back in Europe confirmed that solids should be started between 4 and 6 months. We have also been to see 2 allergists who confirmed that weaning from 4 months onwards is now proven NOT to cause allergies and is actually now recommended for babies with reflux. They provided me with several sources of proof supporting this theory and they are of the opinion that babies with reflux who start solids late, sometimes go on to have problems with solids at all. Feefmick, I have read several times again was reiterated by the Doctor that if the baby is not ready for solids, they would not take to it. At the end of the day, all we want for our babies is the very, very best so I am prepared to try anything. If it is not for her, then we will wait a couple of weeks but I do want to try. The nurse at the clinic we go to said one thing to me that will stay with me always - she said "When someone asks me about a baby (my own or grandchildren) if I would prefer a boy or a girl, I say - 'All I want is a baby without reflux'".

Hi Claire, I have one of those and its fantastic. I use it all the time - Im not sure if it would be good enough to make completely lump free puree? Maybe I should just try LOL! Its for my baby so want a completely lump free consistency. Ive heard that the hand held mills that you turn are supposed to be very good but not sure where to get one.,...

Thank you for your comment evelyn2000 but please do not tell me how to raise my baby. I asked for advice on weaning - not comments telling me I am doing the wrong thing! I have done my research and I have every faith in my Doctor, thank you very much. To any other ladies who have had experience in weaning a reflux baby, any HELPFUL comments please? edited by Mmmmmm on 15/04/2013

We did this by wrapping thick rope around it - they LOVE scratching it! Otherwise, you will find some reasonably priced ones at the pet shop in the Lulu centre in Barsha.

Hi ladies, Thanks for posting! Right Daza, lets get together and make this our easy million plan! All we have to do is find that miracle solution :) Infant Bonjela is supposed to be excellent and of course you cant get it here! Ive tried a million pharmacies! Have the teething rings, Sophie the Giraffe etc. Havent tried the washcloth yet AJ, thanks for suggesting. Our LO isnt on solids yet so not sure if frozen fruit or cucumber would be a good idea? Shes definitely getting the cuddles :)

GT my LO is 3.5 months and she is on 150mls every 3 hours. I think at this age it is generally more in the region of 180 - 210 every 4 hours but as my LO suffers from reflux, she is on smaller more regular feeds. Sometimes she finishes the 150, sometimes she doesnt...All babies differ though... HTH! edited by Mmmmmm on 15/03/2013

You see Daza, thats EXACTLY what I had in mind for her!!!! I think she would just love it! Sitting up would just suit her down to the ground :) Where did you get yours, do you mind me asking? Or where can I get something similar? It looks ideal!

Thanks Gra, I hope it does pass. I dont mind walking around with her from 5am but obviously if she can sleep better and longer without the discomfort she would be better! Can you give camomile tea to babies of that age? I thought you werent supposed to give anything like that until they reached 6 months? Daza, regarding tummy massage, do you think it would work while shes asleep? The only thing is that this is always at night when she is dressed in her comfy PJs and grobag so it'll be difficult to get to her tummy at night.... during the day, its really not an issue. Its just at night time that she wakes with it....

Hi NMT, Thanks so much for your response. We use Infacol before every feed. I noticed a huge difference in the beginning so I hope that is still working its magic! We have tried lots of different positions - over my shoulder (which we tend to avoid at night as she just falls asleep!), sitting on my knee but she just falls forward in a sleepy position like a bobble head doll :) and also lying across my knews.... but none of them seem to work! When shes asleep, shes asleep! :) Burping during the day isnt an issue at all....

Hey TDB, Has this changed at all since your post? I noticed around our LO's 12 week growth spurt she started waking much earlier but not from hunger - it seems she is waking with bad wind :( This has not changed in the past 2 weeks so she is still starting to wake from 5am onwards (but not wanting to feed until about 8am). I was hoping that it was part of her growth spurt but its been going on too long now I think for it to be linked! Lets hope it stops soon - 5am wake ups are tooooooooo early!!!

Thank you ladies, we have the SnugRide 30. We have just noticed now after looking through the booklet that we can change the position of the crotch belt so that should give us a little extra room. We have already moved the main straps to the largest adjustment so will check out how much extra room we have now with the crotch belt moved. She is quite tall though and although nowhere near the 30lbs mentioned on the notice (she is around 16lbs) she is tall so her shoulders are quite close to touching the top of the seat. Will check it out tomorrow once she's up and about! Tnx again! PS Where did you all buy your Maxi Cosys and what budget approx please? It seems to be the most popular here....

Hi Daza, Thanks for your reply. I can try to wind her for 20 minutes when shes asleep but it just doesnt work! She is completely out for the count and nothing happens at all when shes that asleep! Wish it did work! Shes quite hard to wind in the first place so asleep is just close to impossible!

We have found THE best white noise application on Youtube! I have tried and tried different WN but nothing seems to work apart from this ONE that I found on Youtube. It calms our LO in seconds! I even tried it in the car today, which she absolutely hates and it worked!!!! I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard about white noise being damaging to babies hearing or anything about high frequencies in white noise not being good for babies? TIA!
