Working to Empower
Working To Empower is a non-profit and non-governmental organization working to empower sustainable, community-based change. Local needs are matched with locally based proposals by members of the community. Working To Empower aims to make proposals a reality so as to facilitate the implementation of locally demanded projects.

Project Mercy
Established in 1977, Project Mercy, Inc. is an international not-for-profit relief and development agency providing aid, comfort and support. Our goal is to alleviate human suffering and overcome systemic poverty in Ethiopia.

Great Ethiopian Run
Great Ethiopian Run, an event management company with the mission of staging mass-participation running events in Ethiopia, was started in 2001. In recent years their focus has been on taking mass-participation races to all corners of Ethiopia; developing capacity in the office and event teams which are staffed by Ethiopians; and working with sponsors on a range of publicity campaigns.

This is a non-profit organisation bringing clean and safe drinking water to people living in Ethiopia. While this is a charity raised and organised in New York in the United States, it's an initiative that no doubt would appreciate your help while living in Ethopia.

Ethiopiaid is an efficient and effective charity raising funds for trusted community partners in Ethiopia. They work with local people, valued for their expertise, honesty and ambition.

Hand in Hand Ethiopia
This is a UK registered charity helping underprivileged orphan children in the capital city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia break away from the cycle of poverty. They currently have 280 children registered on the project. On the ground in the capital they partner with the AGFAO* team of eight local Ethiopians who run the project plus five cooks who prepare daily meals for the children. They support children in the neighbourhood community area of Lideta.

Action Ethiopia
Action Ethiopia is the UK arm of the registered Ethiopian charity (NGO) SUNARMA. They work with local Ethiopian farmers, allowing them to find innovative solutions to provlems they face in everyday life. They also work to protect Ethiopia's natural environment whilst empowering communities to live a sustainable life.

SUNARMA
Founded by Ethiopians for Ethiopians, SUNARMA works to bring suistable solutions to Ethiopian farmers. Their vision is to stabilise and empower communities living in a sustainable and productive environment. It is guided by a General Assembly made up of a cross-section of stake holders, including rural farmers with whom it works. SUNARMA is supported by a range of national and international donors, and many individuals living in Ethiopia and abroad.

RAEY
RAEY (meaning vision in Ethiopia's native language Amharic) is a community development project located in Yerer in eastern Addis Ababa. RAEY is a community school for children whose families suffer from extreme poverty and illness. Many of these children have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. If not for RAEY, many of these children would go without regular meals, education and support. They provide essential schooling in a supportive, protective and nurturing environment and attend to the health and nutritional needs of the children and their families.
