My husband is relocating to Durban by a company. we have 2 kids in senior grades in British school. I want to know about schooling in Durban. what system they have is it compulsory for kids to learn local langue in school.

I guess you are moved now, but for anyone else reading this thread there the British system equivalent which is the Cambridge system. In kwazulu-natal there are 3 known schools teaching this curriculum. A new school, Reddam House is due to open in 2017 also teaching the Cambridge curriculum (IGCSE, As and A levels) Other provinces esp JHB there are more schools I live in Ballito, near Durban if you have anymore questions

Hi It depends on the type of school you choose to put your child in. The 2 compulsory languages in South Africa (in general) is English and Afrikaans. The Education system is OBE(outcomes based education)
