Do any of you happen to know if it is a requirement to post jobs advertisements or listings in both English and French?

I had heard this third hand and was not able to get much information via a Google search.

Was wondering if this is indeed true and if so does it only apply to jobs in Quebec or in the whole of Canada?

Any information would be really appreciated.

Thank you.

No it is not a rule/law. However, that said some Federal Government jobs may follow that protocol and in Quebec, certainly not (Francais s'il vous plait - and certainly not in English only). If a job is being advertised that requires a bilingual applicant, then it would be beneficial to the advertisor to publish it in both French and English.

Is this for posting job ads in newspapers? Might only apply to jobs in Quebec because I don't recall seeing jobs posted in French as well in British Columbia
