The latest Passport Index is out: here are the world’s top five best and worst passports.

Your passport is your ticket to see the world. Without it, you won’t be able to leave your home country, but did you know that not all passports are equal?

Certain passports let you get into different countries more easily without requiring a visa or being able to receive a visa on arrival.

So how do you keep track of how powerful a passport is and what countries you can easily visit? That’s where the Passport Index comes in. The Passport Index is an interactive website from Arton Capotal that creates a “visa-free score” based on the number of countries a passport holder can visit visa-free or with a visa on arrival.

193 United Nations member countries and six territories are taken into account to compile the “visa-free score” and the higher the score, the more counties you can easily visit.
The results are out of the latest Passport Index and the world’s most and least powerful passports have been announced.

2. Germany: 158
3. Sweden & South Korea: 157
4. Finland, Italy, France, Spain, Norway, Japan and United Kingdom: 156
5. Luxembourg, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal: 155
