Hi Ekari, I have three children at the school, one in year 3 and the other two in secondary. My children love the school and we are very happy with it. The school was recently rated as 'highly effective with distinction' in all six areas that were assessed by the Ministry of Education. There are plenty of clubs and activities for the children after school, most of them are free. The school has a very good reputation. Hope this helps.

Hi janatks, Have you tried the Sharjah Ladies Club or The Wanderers, they both run fitness classes. I know it's difficult to get motivated but I just started Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, after dare I say it, a year of doing no exercise! Good luck, hope you find something.

rice krispie treats are loved the world over! the things that go in a heartbeat are chocolate brownies (no nuts), cupcakes with lots of sprinkles, chocolate refridgerator cake (one of my favourites as no baking!!!!), anything with marshmallows on the top! I did camel shaped butter cookies once and they were snapped up! As long as they are sweet and look fun they will go! Good luck and happy baking! Sorry to hijack your thread Apricot. Claire where did you get a camel shaped cutter from?

Just went to the new Creative minds shop on umm Sequim rd (branch of the one on beach road). Its fantastic and huge! Arts supplies, craft supplies, teaching aids, party supplies and fancy dress. For the lady looking for striped tights, they had them. Also had elbow length gloves for the lady searching for those. If you have a moment, go and have a look. Ps. NOT on commission......yet! Great, thanks for letting us know.

thanks for that.I have just looked at the website , it looks and sounds good. How long would that school run take from RAK roughly. the husband is hooked on the golf courses and beaches that RAK have to offer. Whats it like living in Sharjah? I think the run would take about 40 to 50 minutes from Al Hamra area to Sharjah. We actually live in Dubai but I think for golf and beach life, RAK would be a better option then Sharjah.

There are chairs that look like bouncers but are more cosy and stable, got ours from baby shop. We used it for months, was totally a life saver-baby can be propped up to interact with as well as snuggled down to sleep. it was a bright starts brand. My DS used his for a year at least. he ate, slept, played, watched tv and read in his chair. Hi, sorry to jump on this thread but my sister in law is due with twins at the end of November and I'm looking at buying bouncers for the new arrivals. What make are the chairs? Any other bouncer advice would be welcome. Thanks

I am going to Ethiopia next week to a school for incredibly disadvantaged kids. One thing that UNICEF has identified is that owning a school bag has a really positive impact on young children. These would be fab for these little ones if you felt that it was something you would like to do. I understand if you were looking for something more local. Hi Sarassister, I have a large number of these http://www.fruityfaces.com/fruityfriends.php which I would love to donate, could you please email me on sybarrs at gmail dot com. Thanks Edited to add that they can use them to carry other things or just have fun with them:) edited by OliTomJam on 05/09/2012

Dear all, does anybody know if they have winter clothes (for vacation in Europe) at Karama, like proper winter boots and winter jackets? If you are not wanting to spend heaps on winter clothing try Max or places like that Decathlon has fleeces, jackets and boots at reasonable prices.
